The bokeh mode of the Xperia 5 V is very impressive. So I decided to take some time and really try it out. I'm trying it on birds and other subjects, as well as sharing some tips on how you can get the most out of the bokeh mode.

I remember a few years ago, Sony phones had the weakest portrait mode of any phone. Whatever did they did with the new algorithm, it's like magic. I genuinely doubt even pro photographers might mistake the shots to be took by a DSLR considering Sony phones always matched the color science of pro cameras.
it really is !! i was amazed by the result
Sony also had the weakest skin tone colors, annoyingly yellow and orangey. Which was ironic since other camera brands had mastered Sony's sensors better than Sony :D
I am a pro commercial photographer of 13 years.... and genuinely.. im staggered by this phone... absolutely gob smacked how good it is...... a phone camera is the number 1 priority for me for photo quality when im out and a about with my family and ive always favoured Samsung ultra phones.... but this one smashes the samsung..... so much so i will get this phone

@@14bqdonknah not really. Sony again with the Xperia failed on some fronts and is still showing how inferior their handling of their own sensors is.. They just have subpar programmers.
Sure the bokeh mode is good, but it's crazy that you can maximize the use of it and get those amazing images.

😮this is the only guy i watch when it comes to xperia Phone review. No drama and comparison mmm😊. Can you please do more camera review for xperia???? Maybe next time you should unbox and directly use it outside. hehe. You inspired me a lot. Though i am not using Xperia phone (cant afford) Xperia is my dream phone. I hope one i can buy one..
It's crazy how few people know how good Sony's bokeh mode became in just one update. Sony really needs to push their marketing but you showcased the feature well man. Love your videos.

You will gain more success than you think. You enjoy the process even if you wait for the bird, you are happy with every moment of the animal does like a good brother of them. That's rare advantage that not many people have. I've seen many photos of the birds or something and the quality of the pics you take is the National Geographic quality. You should be a ceo of the Sony photography department. The bitrate on 1v is really great comparing what im using right now on s22 ultra. Really wanted to use 1iv or iv as im using sony camera lineup. On the photo mode, not really tempted to switch as other android also got nice rendering. Nice video man! Love this

Omgghh, those are the BEST potrait photos I ever seen on a smartphone. Neither iPhone nor Samsung can produce that level of natural potrait shots. That bokeh effect really looks like taken from Professional mirrorless camera. You nailed it man. I'm really glad that your channel exists. You are the only that explores Sony smartphones as in intended way. Thank you for being an inspiration. I hope I could see more 5V potrait photos. You feel like getting lost in those sublime shots. It's unbelievable they all came from a smartphone. Sony takes portrait shots on a whole entire level. It's awesome you can approach fleeting subjects like birds or squirrels with ease and speed knowing that your smartphone is just as capable as a mirrorless.

These look amazing, and I know there were partnerships involved with Sony, but I would love to see the results with other smartphones to compare. I love shooting when I am out on a trail, but my photos look terrible compared 😂

There's still a bit of a sharp cutoff for the shallow depth of field set on the camera settings but so far the background Bokeh is still the best in any Portrait mode I've seen yet. It actually feels like a lens with character to it.

Hi Olle! Great Video like always. I have been watching your Videos about the Xperias several times (the 1V and the V Mark V), and your Footage always looks amazing. Im going to get an experia soon, but wanted to ask you about your personal opinion about the extra lense on the Xperia 1V. I personaly dont care about the 4k resolution display that much, more about the cameras. So i wanted to ask you, is the 85 to 125 Lense worth the extra Money in terms of Fotos and Videos? Or should i go with the Xperia V? Is the 85-125 any good?
