Most TOXIC App...LinkedIn (and here's why)

  • Hi Guys!
    Today I did a video on why LinkedIn is so Toxic. It is the most distinguished social media platform for "professionals". Soon after I started using LinkedIn I started questioning-Does anyone else find LinkedIn toxic? because of all the things I kept seeing/noticing-toxic positivity, toxic workplace environment posts, praising toxic capitalism and during pandemic LinkedIn became even more toxic. I was hearing more opinions like "LinkedIn is fake", "linkedin is pointless", "linkedin cringe", "linkedin is garbage" on Reddit but people like Gary Vee and other "entrepreneur" influencers still kept promoting it. In this video I question LinkedIn and explain why I find this social media platform/app extremely toxic (and why I will still use it because I am a clown)
    If you have watched it, Thanks a lot! I appreciate it so so much!

    Some people put really cringy, self congratulatory blog style posts on there too and I have to wonder who they’re writing those for. I read one that was written by someone interning for the same organization I was, where they talked about being “unaware” of the very issue our organization works to keep under control before starting work there, and being super intimidated by having to actually, yknow, talk to and share ideas with “highly intellectual” senior staff members, all framed as this kind of “now I understand why organizations like ours actually exist and I’m determined to join them in their fight, and I also learned not to just freak out and run away from intimidating situations, wow I grew so much” message and I’m like, wtf? Who is this for? And do you think you’re doing yourself any favors?

      Ughh trust me I see these type of posts EVERY SINGLE DAY!😂😂 I swear I will write that type of post myself just to I guess be not weird since everyone writes. Especially my peers who are now getting jobs out of college will write 2000 word essay on their page thanking parents, kindergarten teachers, neighbors and their dog🐩 !😂 as if it’s Oscars or Nobel Prize

    For me, the worst on LinkedIn is the abusive hiring posts. Like" If you enjoy having weekends, you won't fit here". Or the ones with all the unrealistic and extensive requirements and multiple hiring process steps with no mention of how much the salary is.
    People forget they are dealing with humans sometimes. It happens in all social media in one way or another.

      You're literally one of those toxic people. Literally every other post on LinkedIn is some millennial whining about how hard job search is, how it's too demanding, or some cringy, self-righteous platitudes like "we're all humans".
      Job search sucks and a lot of companies don't make it easier. You whining about it for the 55 billionths time isn't going to change that.

    • @asadb1990
      @asadb1990 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@pearlsswine and you are the boomer who thinks working unpaid overtime is gonna look great for company. reality is companies look to exploit the younger workers who are new to the industry because they don't know better. and many get stuck in a job for too long. its all about working smart not hard. now its all about stretching each task given by supervisor as long as possible. no need to run to boss only to be rewarded with more work. many people work slower by design. and the fast worker who takes on too much work burnouts. and when its 5p, its time to be in the car ready to go home not behind the desk. im still confused at my office why so much of my department is still actively working at 5p. luckily, the interns who get paid hourly btw understand and are gone by 445p.
