By the time the song ended, my children, my hyper children, seemed to be in awe of his voice. They were all quiet as if they were hanging on to every word of the song, even after it ended. That song has always been my favorite Christmas song but after hearing, David sing it, it is my favorite song. You can almost feel as if you were there in Bethlehem experiencing the birth of our king.
David is the best male vocalist on the planet and has been for the past 25 years. I know...I have seen him live 11 times live from the front row, met him and his family multiple times and have been to his home for two barn bash events in Tennessee as well. I think this was recorded in the early 2000’s. I’ve watched Phelps sing this song in multiple videos and in various venues through the years. He has an incredible gift. Without a doubt, this was his best performance IMO, and the most powerful performance of this beautiful song that I have ever seen from any artist. I watch it multiple times every Christmas season & probably watched it 50 times at least. Each time is as good as the last, never gets old and always gives me goosebumps! This is absolutely the best performance of any song from anyone I’ve ever witnessed.
