Just like paper money or a celebrity's used condom, their value is determined by what people are willing to pay for them. One thing that greatly aids what people believe a card's value should be is exclusivity. An exclusive card will command more value because it's at least rare(r) in comparison to other cards. You have an extremely exclusive card with a huge backstory to it in the Tyler card, so yeah it's _essentially_ priceless.

I can say my Blue Eyes White Dragon has 100000000 attack points because I fingered a girl with it and it has special vagina powers now, and there's nothing to really gauge that against other than some words printed on a piece of card paper. You can't say your car is capable of going 1000 miles an hour, it physically can not do that and therefore is clearly slower when classed with something capable of going 1000 miles an hour. There's a clear physical gauge.

Not necessarily, getting stuff graded isn’t a scam. Having something authenticated matters, you don’t necessarily have to get a number assigned to something but in this industry it matters.

I actually had #4 back in the day. It wasn't graded, and chances are if I got it graded it would've only been a 7, but I lost it because a friend in high school wanted it and traded me two copies of the much cheaper version of blye-eyes.

And to think I still have these sealed in a card book stored away in our basement… it’s been so long, had no idea they had such high value. Might look into this.
Wish I took better care of my original cards as a kid, both with condition and not throwing away/losing them. This probably led to my hoarding problem where I can't bear to throw anything away in case it's valuable or will be later 😅

I find it crazy how Yu-Gi-Oh! cards go for more than the rarest Pokemon cards. It’s just confusing how something less known can be more valued than one of the most well known series…

even when this was made, there were more cards that are estimated to be worth much more than these. Ulevo, Xexex, and even the other prize cards like fiend's mirror and zera the mant are more than atleast the blue eyes and stein
Its not a “blue-eyes white dragon”, its the “blue-eyes ultimate dragon” and it was given to the winner of 2001 asia championship, it is also called Armor Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, as it is rumored to have a special artwork and rarity and also its signed, it has never been seen from the public eye, has no picture of it anywhere, the man who has it is sitting on a treasure that will get to millions real soon

I have 6 1st edition blue eyes white dragons. In hard cases my brother gave to me when probably 10 years ago. Was never interested so they sat in my closet. They have no damage so now I’m rich!
