    Love how all the comments below are from people who are absolutely clueless of the car market and how hybrid tech alters the price of a car. Of course it’s “overpriced” when comparing it to other mainstream cars or regular Rav4s. The plug in capabilities and low supply drives up the price even more and for the money I think this does one hell of a job at being a quiet semi-luxurious car but also extremely efficient with incredible resale value. If it were me tho I’d just get a normal RAV4 hybrid or CR-V hybrid for $10k less and more availability. They just need to make more primes that’s all.

      40k for a RAV4 hybrid is too much. The extra 10k for a prime is well worth it. 302 horsepower, 94mpge, ev mode. And it's very fast for a RAV4 sized suv. At 50k, there is no other car like it.

    I test drove both Camry and RAV4 on local road and highway AND omg the horrible interior sound dampening.
    Felt like I was revving up a plane engine at times. And interior felt somewhat just outdated in comparison to the competition too. And they out were the most expensive out of all the cars I've seen...
    Settle on a Hyundai Santa Fe. Smoother ride, minimal cabin noise and good tech. A car that looks and feels like it belongs in 2022.

    I looked up the 0-60 time from Toyota on this vehicle as equipped, and its set at 5.8 seconds. A Ford Mustang Ecoboost has a 0 60 time of 5.1 seconds. Why the heck do we live in a world where sports cars and soccer mom crossovers are nearly identical in performance!?? Also, MotorTrend tested the 2022 BMW X3 XDrive 30i and it is SLOWER at 6.4 seconds. Normal vehicles don't need to be so fast especially when Karens are driving them hogging the left lane on the highway, lol

    • @eduardogarcia9793

    • @jasonf407
      @jasonf407 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @eduardogarcia9793 I know right! It's stupid. Alot of cars now are faster than muscle cars from the 90's. There is no incentive to go for a sports car nowadays if a family hauler can do it all.

      the only toyota with performance similar to it is the new supra. . all toyotas at the moment are super overpriced, especially the primes, but if it actually sold at the msrp its lists, then its really not too horrible of a deal. 48,000 before all the dealership crap and other associated costs. This car is targeted at the people who want an suv with a plugin. Actively there's only a couple competitors in the same class. Plug in hybrids are kind of in a weird spot where they try and mix the best of electric cars and gas cars, both with caveats to each aspect of the drivetrain but the prime is really one of the better implementations.

      The killer for me is the dealer mark up - the base model (2021) was around 42k w/a 7,200 federal tax credit. But, all the dealerships were marking it up 5-7k -_-

    • @OldDood
      @OldDood ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ryanp8974 Not true. We purchased a Limited Hybrid with all the trimmings (packages) for MSRP.
      The dealership we have done business with for years would not allow Up Charging their customers.
      And we got decent deal for the 10year/125K miles Ext Warranty.
      We expect our RAV4 to last not just the next 10 years but 15-20 years with proper maintenance.
      We already have a 2007 Camry XLE that is 15+ years old and in very good shape.

    • @ryanp8974
      @ryanp8974 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OldDood Congrats on your new car! I was talking about the Rav4 prime - which only has se and xse trims available. The 3-5 dealerships ive contacted about the prime all mark it up - but that was about 8-10 months ago

    • @OldDood
      @OldDood ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ryanp8974 I understand. However the dealership I have been doing business with all these years would not mark up any vehicles they were selling.
      The owner believes in long term relationships with its customers.
      When we ordered our RAV4 it took 6 months to get it.
      We ordered it Sep 2021 and picked it up March 2022.
      (6 month waiting time was not bad. Now I believe the same vehicle we got with all the packages would be a year today)
      Point is:
      They could of easily marked up their vehicles since they are the only Toyota Dealer in the area.
