Chip Foose Wins Builder of the Decade Award!

- At the 2019 Grand National Roadster Show, Chip Foose was honored to receive the first ever Builder of the Decade Award!
To celebrate the occasion, Chip and his friends brought 12 total Foose Design vehicles to the show (including Impression, Grand Master, 0032, Hemisfear and more), all of which are beautifully featured. The largest collection of Foose Design builds ever in one place!
Also featured are candid interviews with automotive industry legends, including:

Absolutely the unadulterated King of Custom cars in the USA. I great guy who doesn't take himself too seriously!
No surprise. This man is giving, honorable, pleasant, and gifted.
Other builders may have some of Chips qualities, as far as building a car. But none I've seen are so detail oriented. Then on top of this, you can have your grandchildren in the room watching while he works his magic without needing to turn the volume off.
I would have loved Chip being a neighbor of mine.

While I agree, I might add, Chip and the team he holds dear to him, might represent modern day Picasso, Rembrandt embodiment. The structured execution of art at this level and its usability, to bring joy to those that are lucky enough to see it, lifts the human condition to a higher lvl :) .. May time be kind to chip and all his.

I love Chip's work, but just as appealing is his character. No raging fits, no humiliating his workers, no drama.

Foose brought back the. Winfield "Fade", Took the Yenko idea and made it his. He knows how to build something you would want from a high end car factory, but on muscle, hot rods,& classics. His attention to subtle details is phenomenal. Tucking bumpers, cleaning up body lines, taking ideas from one classic and adding it to another and all the while keeping it looking stock or "package". Chip Foose is the Man!
That's why he is so successful for being a good man and a craftsman. Congratulations!

Chip definitely deserves it . He's also a really good person, my family and i went to a car show/drag event at Pomona we were in the food area eating and i saw Chip and his son walking towards us from a distance he was pretty far away. I don't know how many times he stopped and took his time to interact and take selfies w fans smiling and you could see he was really listening to what they had to say laugh and make comments he really took his time w each and every one of them he ultimately ended up where we were eating so he and his son and a friend could grab a berger it took him forever to get there lol he wasn't a bit rattled it was really a cool thing to see. I walked over and told him how cool that was for him to do that.

I met chip at sema in 05 or 06 and despite the croud of people he took the time to talk to me and my buddies. This is well deserved as chip is the nicest guy in the industry and the most talented! Love what you do chip!

Chip, Sorry! Better late than never! I've been a rather good panelbeater/painter for 50years. Some of my restorations have gone international so l think l know a little of what it takes . I can think of no one who deserves this more than your good self. For me it's your willingness to share your skills and encourage others to progress in their skills that makes you so deserving of this accolade. I haven't watched or listened to this but l'll bet my life savings that the first person you thanked was your father for his constant encouragement and education. Well done Chip. What I would give to be fortunate enough to have Mr. Foose build a car for me! I always wanted to build a hot rod since I saw my first Bucket T Roadster with the drop front axle and the 6/71 blower sitting on top of the intake manifold. It was 1968, I was 10 years old living in southern California. Life gave me plenty of opportunities to do stuff that was really cool, but my dream of building a hot rod was never in the cards. Now I’m too beat up and crippled from living life at full throttle for too many years. Harry Chapin said it best in his song “Dreams Go Bye”, you have to dream when you are young. Thank you Mr. Foose for letting me see your craftsmanship!
Congrats Chip. I think you have some serious skills. Can’t say that any of these cars are on my list of must haves but I think your work and craftsmanship is by far the most phenomenal on this planet
Chip is an elite artest his designs have transcended the custom car industry his builds are top notch i dont know him but he seems to be an even better person i wish he'd build me something ,anything!
