A little late to comment, but i did the exact same thing with the coffee last week. Immediately i removed the iPad and the rinsed the keyboard to prevent stickiness (it was already wet). I then blew it out lightly with compressed air and let it sit in the sun for a short time. I let it sit for about 5 days and I’m using it now for this comment. So far everything works, including the charging port.
I’ve done the same thing with coffee and the only problem I had was the number nine key. It now requires a bit pressure to invoke, but that’s it. Today I did it with plain water. Just prior to knocking over the water, I said to myself ‘I should move my bottle’ but of course I didn’t. I let it dry upside down and everything worked fine. I was impressed with how well it tolerated my carelessness. 🤷♂️
This may seem counter intuitive but if you spill coffee on a keyboard or laptop, unplug and turn off the device. Get a bottle of isopropyl alcohol at least 91%. And slowly pour it through the keyboard. This will clean up liquid and sticky things. Then let the device dry for at least two days upside down.
I spilled something into the keyboard and I’ve taken off the keys that don’t work and removed the plastic piece in it and cleaned most I can and cleaned the silicone bead that tells the keyboard the key is pressed, and cleaned it with 7- percent proof alcohol but there’s not much I can do from there. Is there anything else I can do? I want to clean as deep as I can go to see if I can save the keyboard entirely

I came here for the same reason. My keys are definitely sticky I have just spilled Sweat and Sour Sauce all over it.

Ah. You see, I panicked and rushed. I would never have thought of that!

A small glass of lemonade totally killed my magic silver keyboard. Only half wet and I treated it immediately but it never came back.
Also I used Alcohol wipes to clean the sticky juice + alcohol evaporates quickly (70% iso)
Thanks. The keyboard works well now though the usb c port is still dead.
Soda then rinsed in sink keys work usb-c both but no mouse
No luck so far
Hair dryer too?
