    It’s crazy it’s that well built and they decided to cover it in that shitty material just for fun

    It would’ve been a lot easier to remove those stubborn Tim Cook’s glue if you used a heat gun.

    谁知道这三个触点的接口定义啊,国内外各大网站都走了,没找到背面接口的定义, 打算自DIY充电磁吸座利用背后三个触点充电, 经过测试,最右边的触点是GND中间和左边的那两个不太确定哪个是电源,但都用5V 电源测试了没反应,更高的电压没有测试,怕损坏不敢弄,还有个办法就是单独买一个官方背夹,通过测试线确定所以有条件的朋友能不能帮忙测试一下背面的那个电压触点对应的电压

    The interior is very well build, the exterior is made to be worn down very fast. Mine is 2 yrs old and I had to yoink the rubber layer, it was falling apart. They do it like this so that you buy a new one every now and then, even if its working perfectly

      @@florisveenendaal7962 I take it with me in bags and backpacks a lot, nothing out of the ordinary for a mobile device. The outer layer is just rubber and glue, it is intentionally made to look rough, I wish it was all metal

    • @ilegacy862
      @ilegacy862  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. If you are careful, you can pry it up because its held in by adhesive and disconnect the flex cable. Then just install the new one in by connecting the flex and make sure to glue it back. I hope this helps!

  • @grandcalifornia8410

    What would have been cool to test is if the keyboard half is removed from the equation, if the iPad is attached to a Smart Connector pins, would it still charge it through a usb c port on the keyboard bit and if it throw up any errors. I actually would like to source a faulty Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro 12.9 2018 and up models and modify it to use the upper half as a mounting dock for car infotainment - would look sick as a floating unit and charge at the same time. I guess we will never know. 😁

    • @ilegacy862
      @ilegacy862  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey, i would've tried to do this but the keyboard was not functional so I can't tell you if the upper half would do the trick

      @@Paul.blk311 I snagged a slightly defective Apple Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro 12.9 (3rd gen) in excellent overall condition. Although four keys aren't functioning, I've got big plans to repurpose it as an iPad holder in my car for some infotainment action. Currently awaiting the arrival of magnetic mounts, which should be here in the next couple of days. Once they're in, I'll figure out the best way to mount it, and if all goes well, I'll attempt to detach the lower half while keeping the charging port intact. If successful, this setup should look super neat, allowing me to easily attach and detach my iPad. Fingers crossed! :)

      @grandcalifornia8410 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Paul.blk311 Just watched the "The iPad Pro Magic Keyboard Looks Cool in X-Rays by iFixit" video, and it provides a clear X-ray view of the magic keyboard. It's evident that the bottom circuit board serves as a pass-through for the charging port. To ensure the built-in charging port functions, I reckon it's crucial to retain this circuit board. It looks like the circuit board is situated within a bracket that's part of the opening mechanism. My plan is to keep the lower section of the bracket, concealing it with the same or similar fabric (depends if I manage to remove some of the material intact). Worst case scenario, I can always plug the charging cable directly into iPad (not as clean but at least I have a backup option if all fails).
