I'm a hunter from the UK and I never really understood the bow hunting ethics, I shoot centre fire rifle and hunt deer in woodland and open moorland. But watching this video and seeing the one with nature, the appreciation for the animal and wildlife and most of all the skill and professionalism you showed has changed my mind. Hunting is hunting and having respect for the environment and animals is what it's all about. Congratulations on the bull of a lifetime. That's meat well earned.
Best shot I have ever seen taken on am animal. Also, best follow up shot I have ever seen taken on an animal. Cameron, your hard work pays off. Congratulations and thank you for representing hunters the way you do.
Cam and Goggins are my biggest inspirations. Ran my first trail marathon last year because of these guys. Hiking in elk country is so much easier being a trail runner all year long.
Incredible film - Amazing job representing the entire hunting community with fellow hunters & other non-hunters alike. Keep up the great work Cam. Keep hammering

Its now time to say.........Im a hunter and go for it ! Its a Very rewarding experience , knowing you worked for and harvest your own meat , then processed it . Then you get to have the memories of a Lifetime of your hunts to cap it all off ! I hunted with my Father , Grandfather , and my Uncles and Cousins . I am blessed to have the memories of all the fantastic Hunts i went on with all of them . Thank God i do have that , becasuse most of my blood family have all passed on now . But now that i have remarried i have 5 stepsons to teach all i know about my trades and skills in life i have learned to them . They are all filipinos and have Never had the oppotunities we grew up having as Americans . i cant wait to teach them Camping , Hunting , Fishing , how to fly a plane , andhow to do hand woodworking , detail woodworking and timber framing . It will be a great Cap to my Lifes experiences and knowledge i pass on to them .

He’s right, this is inspiring for sure. Cam is a mentor, I think Roy is smiling happy somewhere. Thanks for sharing something so personal and vulnerable, I too have a dream to feel that good weight upon my shoulders.
I love how you showed an accurate interpretation of the days, hours, and work it took for Cam to track and harvest the bull. I prefer it as opposed to the videos where it seems as if they walked out to the stand, sat there for a bit, and harvested the animal. It takes time, it takes determination, and you did a good job representing that with this video.
What an amazing bull!!!! Perfect shot placement and a quick follow up. From one of your many fans Thank you for being a role model for the hunting community!
Just like everyone else has stated here, this is by FAR the very very BEST hunt and video I've EVER seen. Magnificent shot and an unreal second shot to boot. This filming here was no less than world class! Obviously your conditioning figures into the equation as well as constant practice. Once again, WELL, WELL DONE!!!! And congratulations on a superb bull!
Cam I know this was from a while ago and I have watched this video when I need to be reminded of just how truly special it is to do what we do. This year has been especially frustrating for me, I'm getting older and feeling the time slip away. Thanks for the inspiration to keep trying.
this was so well filmed and edited, really amazing work. that slo mo arrow shot was epic that bull had a whole frickin tree growing out its head, cam looked like some kind of mutant soldier when he was walking with the horns on his shoulders, looked pretty cool

I am totally amazed at the quality of this video. Photography, Philosophy, and the excellent portrayal of what hunting can and should be. This is the best Ive ever seen. Good job to all involved.
Congratulations Cam, you inspire me everyday to become a better athlete and bow hunter. Your humble personality and motivation rubs off on many. Nice shot and that bull and enjoy some of the best meat on God’s green earth!
Sixth time watching this now still gets me going. Hunting is what I’ve loved and thanks to cam this past year I’ve been diving deep into bow hunting. And I have to say when someone asks me to say what I am I describe my self as a bow hunter and I’m hella proud of it. Thanks cam for opening this world for me
"Merciful kill" I love that phrase. You waited, got close and even took a second shot within seconds. Too many videos on TH-cam expose hunters as narcissists. I have seen hunters shoot at the stomach. Shoot at an oblique angle. Shoot at over a hundred yards. Lay back and take their time while the animal slowly bled.
Right. I’m all for hunting but at least make it as quick as you can for the animal out of respect. Most people won’t starve to death if they miss a chance cuz they didn’t have a clean shot
Cam, that was an incredible hunt thank you for sharing this publically for all to enjoy. You say at the end that you hope the film captured the moments, the feelings, the mood, the emotion, the effort, well sir it did all that, and some!! Thank you for inspiring and motivating and representing hunting in such an ethical way. Nothing comes easy; and that's the way it should be. keep hammering brother!!
@@toneloc747 Hi Tony, thanks for your comment. As a meat eater I would disagree that the statement is an Oxy moron. The fact is that we choose to hunt for our lean, clean, 100% organic protein which has lived a free and wild life in remote wilderness and has been killed under stringent game management systems. There is nothing more ethical to a hunt than after having worked your butt off and in Cam's case taken the animal with a bow. This, in my view is a far more ethical and fair method of harvesting meat than the alternative of farm fed, mass produced, and mass butchered animals that are only ever destined for the supermarket shelf where 99% of humans don't understand, appreciate or even think about where their meat comes from. There is no story or connection with food that has been bought off a shelf... But, as proud hunters we simply choose to maintain that connection to the land and animals by hunting for our own food so thay we can continue to feed our families while sharing stories about adventure, geography, animal behaviour, conservation etc etc, at the dinner table. What is not ethical about that? Cheers, Jamie from New Zealand
@@MountainMan_NZ lmfao he hit him and then it took an age for the poor beast to die. I am all for hunting but do it in a humane way not by using a weapon that humans have been developing better alternatives for for hundreds of years.
tadhg cooper if you knew anything about bowhunting what so ever, then you might be able to have an intelligent conversation. Since you are either ignorant or ill informed as to the lethality of a well placed arrow, allow me to shed some light. The blades on the heads we use are as sharp as razors. They actually cause very little trauma to the animal. What they do is slice a nice clean opening in a blood carrying vital organ. Quite often the animal just knows that something happens and it startled them but have no idea what it was. Often they will flee because that's what prey animals do when they sense something. They will then stop to assess what happened. This is just seconds and all the while the blood is leaving the body. They get lightheaded and stumble and it's over. Not much pain at all. That animal was dead in less than 2 minutes and maybe 1. It felt very little pain. We bowhunters truly care about the animals we hunt and do the best we cans to insure a humane death. It doesn't always go as planned and we do our best to prevent that. Thank you if you read this. I hope you have a little better understanding now. Sorry for you if you still don't get it.
@@tasaman nah fair your explanation does make sense but it is still a weapon tat humans have been developing alternatives to for hundreds of years but fair cop. I still think he is a bit of a tit.

wow man this footage is crazy im gonna spend all day watching this stuff - just otherworldy for me and such a gift to see this so thank you sir for all your hard work and sharing these moments with us. Not much hunting here in Northern Ireland!
This is a strange experience for me to watch. I'm not a hunter but I'm not against it, providing it's not wasted. I enjoyed your philosophy regarding mercifully killing. I remember ringing my first birds neck and my Dad saying you don't want to hurt it, so you need to make sure you kill it. Same thing I guess. Bow hunting is illegal in the UK, not sure it is any less lethal watching this. Thanks for sharing and educating me. All the best.
I would not comment except to say. There is nothing more primal than the feeling you get when you come to full draw on a animal. It feels right and we bow hunters I believe respect the animals more because it is so hard. To bad it is illegal to bow hunt in UK. But nothing is stopping you from hunting other countries. Good luck sir😊
@@Rainersherwood . I agree with everything you say except the first sentence. We are safer here because of those laws and so is the wildlife. Far too many idiots here to have people running around wounding but not killing what they would see as 'sport'. Not enough knowledge in regard to butchering the meat so it would't be eaten. My concern generally would be losing sight of an animal after it's hit and leaving it to die slowly. The guys in this video obviously know what they're doing but until I saw the end result I was thinking they needed a dog with them just to be sure. Glad it ended well.
@@Rainersherwood Totally agree. You can hunt deer, just not with a bow. The justification is that they are less lethal!?! That is not what this video shows. The way I see it is a poorly prepared hunter could just as likely make a poor shot with a rifle as they could with a bow. I love archery and maybe I'll go over to the Scandinavian mainland to explore the idea of elk hunting. Unfortunately it will be a long while as all bow hunting is illegal in the UK, so will have to get some more basic experience abroad first. All the best.
@@martintaylor4620 I think you touch on a significant point. Most people in the UK don't even realise you can hunt here. The hunting community has been demonised, and as a result the meat goes to waste. Growing up in a rural area, game was always available but as time went by hunters couldn't give it away. As a result we have lost a lot of basic skills. I have a kid and one on the way, my wife doesn't want chickens to breed and slaughter. I want my children to respect where their meat comes from just as much as their fruit and vegetables. Meanwhile other people are eating stuff they have no idea if it's safe or ethical.
What a tank of a bull. Well filmed and a monster Bull at the end. Have followed you for many years Cameron. You represent our lifestyle in a beautiful way. Thank you from NSW Australia...
17:55 is everything brother. The respect you have for the hunt reminds me a lot of my father when I was a young boy. Thank you for that, and thank you for sharing the hunt.
I retired after 25 years in the military and didn't get to hunt with my dad but a time or 2 in that span. This past season on our family place here in Texas I saw that look on my dads face after taking the best Buck of his life...so many ways mine too.
That is one of the most beautiful animals I've ever seen. Also the double tap was trippy as hell too. The reaction of the animal going through the brush and the follow up shot. He is a true master.
Weight never felt so good on my back. Totally right bro. "I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious."
Incredible. I hope one day I too get to experience a hunt in the US or Canada. This is a great example of living one's life to the fullest. Thank you so much for sharing this 🙏🏽🔥💪🏽🔨🔨
I caught myself turn down my speakers and be really quiet....so I don't startle the bull.... . . . and then I thought wtf and wrote this comment. Epic video, though
Watching these hunting videos I would like to see more prayers of gratitude for the animal thats just given its life! I am 46 and bought my bow two months ago and pretty keen to get the long forgotten hunters instinct going! The deers here in Australia are bit more harder to hunt, plenty of pigs and goats though! Nice video Cam!
I've never been hunting, though my extended family hunt regularly. I've never intentionally killed an animal, outside of a series of wasps that just lit me up for mowing over their nest. I even try to save spiders in my house when I can, and I know all they want to do is merc me in my sleep! I've never fired a rifle, but I've held one. I've used a bow, but I can't say it didn't use me MORE. I've eaten animal, but I've never actually earned it. And after 3 heart surgeries before I was 40, thinking I'll be a vegetarian for the rest of my life, these stories make me wish I could experience and learn about what I just watched (above) some day! These videos, and the podcasts you share with Joe Rogan, sent me down a rabbit hole that I never thought I'd jump into! Thank you for that!
I love how ethical most hunters are. I understand that u utilise the whole beast and respect it. I really love that. But it always pains me to see an animal die by a human hand. Beautiful shot btw
@John Bryan murder is by definition when you unlawfully kill a human, humans are omnivorous endirance pack hunters, we have evolved several traits to effectively take prey down. Hunting is part of human nature, it's a natural behavior and nobody should be ashamed of hunting, try convincing a bear that hunting is unethical lol
Props to whoever put the video together. Hearing every single noise your boots make when your hunting is nerve wracking. Never know what's gonna spook those animals. Especially getting into bow range
I support this kind of Hunting!! I love to see the hunter out and about, tracking and moving in the same field as the game itself. I find sitting in a stand and waiting and waiting is just too much of a lazy man's hunting. That's just my opinion though. Congrats Cam!
I saw the GQ-breakdown-interview with Cam and thought I might wanna actually see him hunt. This video seemd like a good choice and it was. I really like how much he drinks in the whole experience, his surroundings, the wilds. Plus, he definitely stayed true to his word and took the opportunity to make the kill as quick as possible. But this also made it clear to me that I don't have the stomach for hunting. Not unless I have to do it to survive that is. Seeing the life drain from a body is just too heavy for me, if I have to fight the thought that I didn't have to let that arrow go (assuming I would be trained enough to do it properly etc.). Still, impressively done, and beautifully shot, both with the bow and with the camera!
I‘ve got nothing to do with hunting and stuff like this and honestly always thought that this is only for peoples ego. But i have to admit that you Can literally feel the passion and the hard work behind this. Amazing Video! Greetz from Germany
That was the most exciting hinting video I've ever watched. When Cam moved to the right getting in position for the first shot with the bull looking toward him and then that obscured (from the camera angle) 2nd shot..............incredible.
Yes man, Needed to see this. Especially since tomorrow is opening day archery white tail deer here in the worst place to hunt...yup, Connecticut. Sorry Joe Rogan I'm stuck here!!!!!! Keep pounding
When i first saw this video, probably 2 years back it inspired me to wanting a hunting license. Yesterday i got that hunting license! Thank you for this amazing video, and keep hammering!
Glad to see the edit. As beautiful as they are, Cam is right. Watch some of the documentaries about the circle of life in the woods and youll see the amount of fear and struggle that these animals go through when being killed by other predators. The laws for hunting are primarily focused on the preservation of these species and their habitat so most hunters DO think and act like Cam but there will always be bad apples out there.
I'm a vegan, but I must admit this video was amazing. I don't eat meat because in this society I don't need to hunt, I can just buy food, but growing up and being Haitian we had to kill our own chickens, goats etc. I can appreciate this. If I absolutely needed to survive, I would hunt as well and honor the animal for feeding me and my family. Great insightful video. Alot of people are so disconnected at what it take to get food to their table. Even with gardening.
Man... These hunting film makers are incredible. The cinematography, the music, the editing, everything combined makes it an almost spiritual experience. I had no interest in hunting until yesterday when I stumbled across a film by Donnie Vincent - Winds of Adak and was blown away by it
Something that doesnt get mentioned enough: The bow that was used to take this animal down was given to a guy who busts his ass in the gym and inspired Cam by his story. Cam is a good guy and the hardest worker you'll ever see. Period.

They have guns in the uk?
Best shot I have ever seen taken on am animal. Also, best follow up shot I have ever seen taken on an animal. Cameron, your hard work pays off. Congratulations and thank you for representing hunters the way you do.
the 2nd shot was unreal
Honestly, this is the best of anything I’ve ever seen regarding Hunting 😂
Agree. Beautiful shot!
"...thank you for representing hunters the way you do."
That part right there. Totally agree.
That second shot was amazing! He is very accurate at extended ranges for sure.
I’ve been playing too much Red Dead Redemption

duuude. I have samesies
Theres something about watching someone do what they truly love. Awesome bull Cam!
The cinematographer on this shoot!!! Flippen amazing
Cam and Goggins are my biggest inspirations. Ran my first trail marathon last year because of these guys. Hiking in elk country is so much easier being a trail runner all year long.
I don’t know how many times I’ve seen this Cam. But it never gets tired. Incredible Bull, incredible archery and incredibly captured on camera.
Incredible film - Amazing job representing the entire hunting community with fellow hunters & other non-hunters alike. Keep up the great work Cam. Keep hammering
The first shot was great, but the follow up was incredible. Beautifully done!
I love his appreciation for the moment and the place he is at, a true hunter right there
well i dont
Not sure whats more impressive, that bull, or a 32 mile run at his age
Jon he does 200 mike races and 24 hour races. I think he ran 108miles in 24 hours. I can’t remember what his result was for the Bigfoot 200. I think 78 hours.
Jon he runs a marathon (26 miles) everyday while working a full time job and goes to the gym everyday.
32 miles is normal work out for cam..
Coty he runs a marathon a day when he's training for an ultra not all year round
Cam hanes is definitely crazy determined.... have you guys ever heard of David Goggins he is another ultra runner / navy seal/ ext... he is worth checking in to some off his accomplishments
Never been hunting. Felt like I was right there beside you. Such a beautiful emotional hunt.
I hope you get to experience it one day... it’s like nothing you’ve ever felt

Pure and beautiful. So much respect to Cam and for the animal for giving us his life. Wonderful.
I can watch this a thousand times and it'll never get old. Thank you Cam.
If all else fails Cam, you have a future in ASMR hunting.
It's inspiring to see him with so much passion and pride in what he does.
Okay TH-cam, I’ll finally watch this for the third time.

this is my second time lol 😂
I just made it a trifecta myself. 😄

That first shot was perfect, but that second shot was absolutely incredible.
I dont watch hunting videos. I am glad I watched this.
Best video yes. But by far the best documented and filmed hunt is The Otherside by Donnie Vincent. Absolutely insane movie.
Conditioning and pratice😂😂😂.. Kind of understating it with this guy...
Cam I know this was from a while ago and I have watched this video when I need to be reminded of just how truly special it is to do what we do. This year has been especially frustrating for me, I'm getting older and feeling the time slip away. Thanks for the inspiration to keep trying.
Keep going 👊
this was so well filmed and edited, really amazing work. that slo mo arrow shot was epic that bull had a whole frickin tree growing out its head, cam looked like some kind of mutant soldier when he was walking with the horns on his shoulders, looked pretty cool
1:47 looks like he took Joe Rogan's advice and made Keep Hammering merch 😎
I just spotted that. 🤙
I think joe was being sarcastic keep hammering has been around for years
I think if there was a really popular video of me and Joe Rogan, and Rogan tells me "you should make merch that says keep hammerin", im gonna make the damn merch. Seems like a golden opportunity to cash in on a quick buck
I wonder where hes been?1 yr. since last video.
He already had the slogan and merch. Rogan was just joking about it on their hunt.
I am totally amazed at the quality of this video. Photography, Philosophy, and the excellent portrayal of what hunting can and should be. This is the best Ive ever seen. Good job to all involved.
I love how positive you are😀 You are truly an inspiration!
Thanks cam for opening this world for me
"Keep Hammering" is etched on the limbs of his bow. Absolute legend.
All credit to Joe Rogan lol
Dude, you are one of the reasons I started my own hunting channel. Thank you for inspiring so many of us out there! We really all appreciate it!
You live a very inspired and inspiring life, Cameron Hanes! Congratulations on a great Bull.
"Merciful kill"
I love that phrase.
How do you represent "hunting in an ethical way"? An oxymoron, no?
Never been hunting & know nothing about it but loved every second of this video. The storytelling, the cinematography, the audio, all perfect! Incredible film 👏🏼
These could be an hour long and I'd still watch 50 times!
1st shot smooth AF, 2nd shot absolutely legendary !!!
wow man this footage is crazy im gonna spend all day watching this stuff - just otherworldy for me and such a gift to see this so thank you sir for all your hard work and sharing these moments with us.
I think you mean yards, not meters.
What a tank of a bull.
Well filmed and a monster Bull at the end.
Have followed you for many years Cameron.
You represent our lifestyle in a beautiful way.

I watch this all the time. The respect and love this man has for animals and the nature is fascinating. We belong to the nature.

Nice video Cam!
Cameron Hanes, one of my real life heroes. Dude is a true inspiration how he lives life!
I have no words to describe how gorgeous that bull was other than DAMN!
Holy shit finally! I am never more excited to receive a notification!
Cameron Hanes got me into running and bow hunting at 52 years old. You're never too young. Keep Hammering!
I love how ethical most hunters are. I understand that u utilise the whole beast and respect it. I really love that. But it always pains me to see an animal die by a human hand. Beautiful shot btw
@Based Savage don't give him the time of day. He clearly just wants to be narrow minded and hateful
@John Bryan virtue signaling ass hat hahaha✌
John Bryan you sound so dumb
@John Bryan murder is by definition when you unlawfully kill a human, humans are omnivorous endirance pack hunters, we have evolved several traits to effectively take prey down. Hunting is part of human nature, it's a natural behavior and nobody should be ashamed of hunting, try convincing a bear that hunting is unethical lol
John Bryan what about ants or flys?

Amazing how the bull started reacting as the arrow was traveling towards it, 20 or 30 yards out!
I think it reacted to the movement of Cameron.
Yea, their reaction time is insane. I've had whitetail duck arrows at 40 yards.
It's called string jump
@@DrengrMike Cool.
I don't hunt yet but when I do I want it to be this style
How does this not have more views already! these are the best!
Adam Madrid Because it only came out an hour ago dude. Chill.
i get that, but it didnt even have 500 when i opened it up.. and im chill as hell man lol
3 years late but what a couple of shots. Perfection. Gorgeous Bull.
Great job. It looks like you’re carrying the hunter’s version of the iron throne on your back.
The melody the Elk whistles is AMAZING It’s almost a clear T T T ST. Like, C D E F. Is it just me or can anyone else hear this?

Poor animal.... such a beautiful creature
(Edit):
You show respect for the animals and go in for only one. Every hunter should be like you :)
Glad to see the edit. As beautiful as they are, Cam is right. Watch some of the documentaries about the circle of life in the woods and youll see the amount of fear and struggle that these animals go through when being killed by other predators.
The laws for hunting are primarily focused on the preservation of these species and their habitat so most hunters DO think and act like Cam but there will always be bad apples out there.
pure beast! 💪💪💪 keep hammerin
Cam is such an inspiration and fine example of an outdoorsman. Hoyt and UA got it right getting Cam on board as an endorsed athlete.
That slow mo is amazing
I'm a vegan, but I must admit this video was amazing. I don't eat meat because in this society I don't need to hunt, I can just buy food, but growing up and being Haitian we had to kill our own chickens, goats etc. I can appreciate this. If I absolutely needed to survive, I would hunt as well and honor the animal for feeding me and my family. Great insightful video. Alot of people are so disconnected at what it take to get food to their table. Even with gardening.
Man... These hunting film makers are incredible. The cinematography, the music, the editing, everything combined makes it an almost spiritual experience. I had no interest in hunting until yesterday when I stumbled across a film by Donnie Vincent - Winds of Adak and was blown away by it
When are those boots coming out?! I want a pair!! Awesome video and congrats on the bull!! Keep hammering!

Something that doesnt get mentioned enough: The bow that was used to take this animal down was given to a guy who busts his ass in the gym and inspired Cam by his story. Cam is a good guy and the hardest worker you'll ever see. Period.
