So grateful for how you document your hunts honoring both the spirit of the land and the animal. Most of us might never be able to hunt land and/or animals of this caliber but getting to see the footage and stories makes me feel like I was there!
Thank you for sharing this hunt with us. You are a true inspiration for hunting at all levels. We as hunters should all look at game the same way that you look after this bull and all of the game that you harvested throughout the years. I hope that our paths cross someday!
Hunt of a life time for most! I think the way you do your videos, while you are there, shows the importance of respecting the Apache traditions and it makes the hunt even more special. To close your eyes and think about the warriors of our past and how they would have done the hunt and how things are different today but really in the end so similar. Respecting history, history of all of us!
It’s cool for Cam he gets to do what we all wish we could do, but I will say that seeing all these private land hunts that are guided and all set up for success are not very appealing. Not hating, I would do it if I could. I know Cam is still a beast and would run circles around 99% of the population. It just takes away from what the audience originally started watching for.
this film was Awesome and testament to your hard work and dedication to Bow hunting/Hunting in general i hunt but ,i can not bow hunt in my State, in Australia, But Respect it.
@@ryans9029 quite the opposite of a once in a lifetime hunt. That’s usually reserved from premium tags people put in their whole lives for and don’t often draw. I don’t think you realize that this guy not only gets to hunt the best of the best places in the world year after year but he has people scouting and watching target bulls for him while he’s at home. Nothing against him, I’d do the same thing but it’s hard to listen when to him talk about all the struggles and challenges he faces when 99% of hunters don’t get to experience a hunt like this 1 time
Amazing bull, amazing place, amazing people. You need a special circumstance to grow those special animals that have had a chance to reach their absolute peak. Quality soils to grow nutritious forage, good genetics and protection to reach old age.
I got to laugh reading some of the comments, yeah it's high price res tag but does that mean that the ground is flat and the bulls lay in your lap 😂, come on,if you could you would, still have to work for it, it's not a given, nice work Mr Hanes
I have an ignorant question. From california. Elk tags are... not a convenience here. But we are a huge state with lots of public and private land. There should be tons of elk theoretically. Is there a state interest in keeping elk numbers relatively small? I'm just confused by how huge this state is versus how much arthritis i'm required to develop before I'm eligible to go hunt one.
South Australia just banned Bow Hunting. I guess it doesn’t really make any difference because the public land to hunt on disappeared years ago, but still, what is wrong with the world today?
Cool bull... but.... let's be clear about what this is: It's a hunt of a lifetime because of the cost to hunt there. For Cam it is well worth the cost, and I don't begrudge the man at all, but to act like this is a special hunt, you don't want to let the tribe down, it's all about the meat, giving an "offering", etc... it's a bit over the top. It makes a "neat" film for some, but let's be real, Cam is a stone cold killer, and a trophy hunter, and runs a business based off of his success... All these other add ons about meat, and the land, a connection to the animal is somewhat disingenuous. You run a YT channel, podcasts, sell merch, etc, and like big antlers, hence the title "To kill a giant". Please don't regale us about the honorable San Carlos Apache tribe, or how you don't want to let them down, how much the meat will be utilized, etc. You could kill a moo cow and get more meat to utilize. You hunt because you love the chase, the work, and ultimately the success, as well as the notoriety and financial benefits that comes with that success. Paying $30k to the Rez to kill a bull that befits your status is an easy decision, and not some tremendous privilege that the tribe selected you to represent them. Came you would hunt if meat wasn't a part of the equation. Just liker guys love sports, or golfing... the added benefit for those of us that hunt is that we get an added bonus of meat out of the thing we're passionate about. Not hating, just stating the truth.
3 arrows to not let the tribe down? How about the bull Mr. 100 yard shot…lol. Never I sucked up, fucked up and wounded a bull till I shot it a 3rd time. I watched the initial video when u did the opening how special it was……until u said it was your 7th hunt! lol…..must be nice to be blessed by sponsors! 🤣
You’ve worked hard to get where you are, but let’s be honest. Most of your followers will never get one chance at a bull this class on private ground… it’s just no realistic. I also watched the clip feeling like I missed out on back story, area, plans, blood trails….
Do you hunt anywhere in the lower 48 anymore that isn't private or res land? You made your name by being willing to go hard and deeper than anyone else. Is Utah ranches and Native Reservations what Beast Mode has become.
Correct. He made his name.. Now he has opportunities to do the things he grinded for. He isnt claiming anything. He's living his dream. What have you done?
Res land produces big bulls… but it’s very much still a tough hunt. Cam puts more time into perfecting his craft than you probably ever have. Stop being a hater
It took what it took. The bull just stood there. I hope your not questioning his authenticity about the bull not suffering. Look at all the work he puts in to put an arrow in the right spot
i bought my first pack of carni four mechanical broadheads , first time ever trying mechanicals and 1 out of the 4 broke after shooting my broadhead target 5-6 times haha

My heart was pumping with every bull showing up. Those screams, the bugles, the hustle! Unbelievable!!
Always a pleasure with you Cam. Thanks man.
Great hunt Cam! Thanks for sharing!
Magnificent effort. Outstanding discipline and knowing what you wanted rewarded you. That is serious trophy hunting.
This man has grinded all his days and 💯 deserves the right to hunt these animals on this land no question big love and respect cam #mustbenice
What a hunt! Definitely something many of us bow hunters dream about. Congrats
Awesome bull and great video. You are a wild man to climb that high up in that tree. Got it done, Keep Hammering 🏹
Top of the line management to grow and sustain those giant elk , were working on it here in Mescalero again ,

Beautiful land . And wow it's amazing how the people of that land allow you to go there and do what you do. Thanks to all who made this possible
Its only money 💰

this film was Awesome and testament to your hard work and dedication to Bow hunting/Hunting in general i hunt but ,i can not bow hunt

Did the antlers remain in the res as well?
Great hunt and a great bull!
Where is episode 1&2?
Great bull Cam. what happened with the follow up shots?
What length are you arrows/what's your draw length?
What pack are you carrying? I like the look of it.
Turned him into a pin cushion 😂 congrats!!
Congrats Mr.Hanes bad ass bull
Great video!
Amazing
I liked how you said once in a lifetime hunt followed by 7 pictures of you from there. Must be nice
You must not understand the definition of a hunt. You can hunt a place a hundred times... And still have a once in a lifetime hunt at 101
The fact you said "it must be nice" means I know you read his biography and you're taking the piss

What gets done with the body?
Atta boy Gideon! Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while
🙏😎👍 Awesome bud!
Amazing bull, amazing place, amazing people. You need a special circumstance to grow those special animals that have had a chance to reach their absolute peak. Quality soils to grow nutritious forage, good genetics and protection to reach old age.
Was it just me, or did the tune and pacing of that song at the end sound like they were singing Amazing Grace in their language??
Come hunt outside Portland in the Wilson unit during general archery in late August and show the world what it's all about.
See you at Sportsmans. ✌️

i would love to see Cam and Shockey hunt together.
Thanx

Wow.

Beautiful bull!
Step 1: Pay $20,000 + for private land access…
What a beautiful animal, congratulations. Tip 400” or nah..
What pack is he wearing? Kifaru….. can’t figure out which one.
Atta baby Gideon
Amen
Legendary. You're incredible, Cam!
It might be time to reconsider arrow setup….
Them apache are about to lose a bunch of land to a foreign block cave mining company in that area. Cool film. Sad this area may be gone to greed.

Bye 👋

For what?

He's made plenty of vids hunting public land. You're just mad you aren't him. 😂
Gregs you sorry a** punk. You mad bro
Correct. He made his name.. Now he has opportunities to do the things he grinded for. He isnt claiming anything. He's living his dream. What have you done?
Just because it’s the Rez doesn’t make any less of a challenge , there not a 8ft fences in there .

Must be nice
To kill a giant… you have to pay 30k for private land access
"Don't like seeing animals suffer" ... "Took four arrows"
He has to say it
It took what it took. The bull just stood there. I hope your not questioning his authenticity about the bull not suffering. Look at all the work he puts in to put an arrow in the right spot
@@shaun5266 🤣
You're perfect.
So this OTC, right?! Awesome bull!!
You're very disciplined unless it's You're tongue. Trying to watch this with my eight year old grandson i'm not impressed.
😂😂😂😂😂 I am not impressed either, a grown man trying to blame another grown for what you let your grandson watch. 😂😂😂 Take some accountability.
i bought my first pack of carni four mechanical broadheads , first time ever trying mechanicals and 1 out of the 4 broke after shooting my broadhead target 5-6 times haha
Solid job on an ethical harvest sir! Always above & beyond 🫡
Define ethical please.
