It's so refreshing to see other Mamas who enjoy the simple, quiet moments with their little ones and make them their priority. All of your videos are so lovely.
Wow I have been watching these newborn essentials videos and drowning in marketing tactics and stuff overwhelm. Thank you for bringing me back and getting me excited to welcome this little one into our lives.
Something that certainly isn’t a necessity but has added a ton of value to my husband and my lives is an electric sterilizer! I struggled immensely with nursing my daughter and we decided to exclusively formula-feed her, which meant washing and sterilizing lots of bottles every day. It is SO nice to be able to pop the bottles into the sterilizer instead of boiling them.
Thank you for your videos. I’m a mom of three and I’ve been seeking the simple life. Always late, always running to get to the next activity. There’s too much physical and mental clutter that is in the way of what we really need. You’re on the right path and it’s what I aspire to reach ❤️.
I am so happy I found your channel. We grew up as a minimalist family of 8. And when i had my first child, thirteen years ago, minimalism went out the window! Because of marketing, parenting advice, hand-me-downs, mom guilt, and the never-ending baby competitions parents do. We now also have a 5, 4, and 2 year-old and we have 1/4 of what my first child had. And are so much happier. ❤
That is awesome! Great encouragement for other young moms. The marketing these days is SO POWERFUL and cuts right to the core of our fears as parents. I'd really like to get ahead of that for as many new moms as possible!
You should read Simplify your Life with Kids. It's an amazing book. It goes by subjects and is like numbered bite sized information that you can apply in your life right away. It's a little book and I still reference it often after 13 years.
We have that same bath support! It is SO helpful!! Also, I too enjoy having a weekly Sabbath! John Mark Comer’s book The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry was a game-changer for me.
I’ve been really enjoying your videos! I am currently pregnant with my sixth baby and am interested to see what another mom views as the bare necessities. I had a whole nursery full of baby stuff for my first, but now I know most of it is more of a burden than a help. To your list I think I would just add diapers, a car seat, and a comfortable place to rock that sweet baby. I am curious as to what your maternity wardrobe capsule looked like. I have donated most of my maternity clothes and would like to buy as few new pieces as possible this time around.
@@papertownhome Cool ^_^ Specifically, I was referring to "becoming a parent is incredibly hard ...."! Which is true but some first-time moms are already nervous & apprehensive 😅 But I enjoyed it. Even the minimalist lifestyle has always appealed to me, I feel as Americans, we do "spend/waste" quite a bit (compared to other nations. I think once I saw a Japanese vid that showed how a Japanese household contains mostly the stuff that are basic & necessary, yes part of it due to the tiny living spaces in the cities but that's when I started admiring the minimalist approach). Keep up the good work, please
I’m currently on a marathon with watching your videos and I am genuinely curious. Would you ever consider doing a Q&A or a deep dive into your life before motherhood? I’m not a mother myself as I am still in my early 20s, but I think about the future quite often. Did you always want to be a parent and if so how have you found or come to your outlooks on parenting? You mention Montessori and respectful parenting (both styles I admire) and I would simply love to hear more about your journey as an individual and how it led to your current lived experience.
Thank you! I'd love to do that at some point. Currently trying to get a handle on my content schedule, lol. It's been a "minute" since I last posted :)
For all the new Mamas i recommend reading Simplify your Life with Kids by Elaine St. James, There is No Such Thing As Bad Weather, and Simplicity Parenting. ❤ Amazing books that put things in perspective for a simple life.
Great video!!! 👏🏼😁 currently 36 weeks with baby #4 and I regret all the stuff I had with my first two babies.. 😑🙄 lol I had a lot of things that never got opened or used. Such a waste imo. Minimalist life is so refreshing!
Amazing content. Self-care when you're a brand new mom can be as simple as taking a hot shower, taking the time to lather lotion all over your body instead of just your arms and legs. Shaving your legs. Or even just detangling and combing out your hair fully and feeling how refreshing that feels. Keep it simple Mamas. ❤

You are so kind! It’s so nice to get connected to like minded mamas.
Plural of mama is mamas, not mama's

At first, I was a tad nervous with that intro but decided to continue watching.... Calm, realistic, & mature approach. Thank you 🙏
Thanks! Admittedly the first part of this comment made me chuckle 🤭

That’s a great idea! Thanks for sharing!
