Do you think battery or hydrogen locomotives will supplant diesel? I'm saying hydrogen will probly get the first jump outta the gate due to the fact that they can take diesel locomotives and install a hydrogen kit on them and that's a lot cheaper then buying a brand new battery locomotive.
BHP #9001 testing has added some variety. A CSX CM44AH joins it this time. BHP #9001 still holds up.

@ChristinaLarsen-dk1pe Its more dependent on politics than technology. Bio diesel is also a hrowing option.
