That opening shot at Dalton I use to set in that parking garage back in early 90’s as I worked as a consultant at a carpet mill there for about six months. There was a dinner next to the track there as the Carpet company took me there to try to hire me and C40-8 7575 in ghost gray went by the window so close felt like I could lean out and touch it.
The strength of the steel holding these cars together has to be incredible. I can't imagine anything on Earth that moves weighing more than one of these trains.
CSX may not be my personal favorite Railroad, but it's slowly creeping up my list, especially since I got a job offer from them to be a Freight Conductor.
Oh that's super cool, my hitta 💯💯 I certainly wouldn't mind working as a freight conductor myself, if and only company policies were enlightened on an equal rights basis for not just myself but for the employees working there as well. I hope you got the job and are doing excellent at being a damn good railroader 👍🏾
That train ending @ 6:00 I counted 128 cars and I know I probably didn't get them all. I remember counting ones I saw in my home town once and it was over 100, something like this one. Like 10 minutes or more of train. Incredible
That bridge @ 50:30 OMG I would be terrified (I hate water but I love bridges) but it looks like it's been there for 80 years. Hard to believe it can hold so much weight. WOW 😵💫 Imagine all the kids in those cars probably crying from the astonishment of seeing this live. Better than the circus.

I go by that train yard a lot in Dalton, GA but I don't ever stop to watch freight trains. Really I seen the CSX trains all the way down past Marietta going to Florida. There's a shipping container yard in Chatsworth, GA and they will either pass it or stop there and load up like 200 cars

Best of CSX Transportation. They sure had some fine catches. Heritage units included too. CSX is a nice railroad
That and the fact that they have one of the lowest rates of Freight Train Interference with Amtrak.
They treat their employees like shit.
