I have used this recipe for many years and it is the easiest dough to handle. I had to find a way to make pies since the MIL made pies almost every week and I needed to compete.

Hi, I have just made 4 pie crusts, I love this recipe, easy to handle. It does not break in pieces. It's so good. I use this for quiche, and lemon pie. Thanks again for sharing . I really like this recipe.

I have never been able to master a homemade pie crust until your video! Omg my pumpkin pie was amazing and even the bottom of the crust was flaky thanks to your tip of baking on the lower shelf. Thanks so much for this vlog! Love your channel!

OMG! I rarely comment on YT vids BUT I had to let you know how amazing this recipe is! I have failed many many times over the years. Being from South Louisiana we like to put many things between a pie shell. I usually bought store bought pie shells when I try new recipe, just in case, but for Christmas I did NOT! I made 2 sweet potatoes pies and 2 pecan pies and OMG! My husband was telling everyone about my new pie crust recipe and requesting that I share it with other! Thank you! Such a fabulous recipe. Currently making a chicken pot pie. Made the recipe without butter. I can see we are all gonna be a bit heavier after the holidays LOL. Thank you again!

thank you carol for explain why you add this ingredients. I have made the crisco pie crust recipe for years but never got that tenderness I experienced in other's pie crusts. I'm going to make this recipe this year, I've never heard those glorious words from my family "It's as good as grandma's." Maybe this year.

I’m pretty comfortable in the kitchen and love to cook. Ran a commercial kitchen for 13 years and had my own catering business for 1-2 years but pie crust is something I’ve never been able to master! Tried again last week for my family thanksgiving and the recipe I used was not that great ( can’t remember if it was Betty Crocker or better homes and gardens) but my crust was pretty tough and not easy to work with at all. For sure going to write this one down and add it to my recipe binder! Thank you for sharing 😃

I'm so happy I found your channel!! You give such clear, concise information! I grew up baking in the kitchen with my Grandma, and she could throw down like no other ❤ But when it came to her pie crust.....ohhh weeee....she would curse it left and right when it didn't come out right. So it intimidated me to even try to make. Surely if she couldn't make it, I wasn't going to be able to either, right. Your recipe looks so simple. I will be trying this on Sunday!! Wish me luck 🤞 Any tips on blind baking? Is it necessary for things like pumpkin pie or top and bottom pot pies? Thank you for sharing!! I sure do appreciate ya ❤

There are different schools of thought on pre-baking. I never do. I always bake my pies on the bottom rack and never have a problem 😊

Well I had a fail with this piecrust. I made the dough and split it into three separate pieces and placed the disks in the refrigerator. I took one out an hour later and blind baked it for a pumpkin pie and it came out beautiful. I froze the pie crust before I baked it. I took a second disk out of the refrigerator this morning, rolled it out and placed in the freezer for 30 minutes before blind baking. The edge of the crust fell off onto the baking sheet and there were puddles of butter in the bottom of the crust. It was the same dough I baked yesterday that came out beautiful. I don't know what happened to the pie dough between yesterday and today. It didn't get wet or moist. Any answers?

@@carol-thriftychichousewife6231 I don’t understand why it worked for the one crust on the same day I made it but not the one I rolled out the next day?? It was the same dough. Doesn’t make sense.

Do you prebake it before adding the filling or does that depend on the filling?
