Oh my goodness! I need to bake this! I always add cornstarch to my crust before adding the filling and that’s always prevented it from getting soggy. I’ve never baked my pies on the bottom shelf so I’ll have to give that a try 😃.
Carol, just saw this amazing cranberry apple pie recipe. One question... will the uncooked pie crust tolerate the heated pie filling right out of the skillet, or do I let it rest and cool before filling the pie pan?

Caramel contains dairy which is not safe for canning
I'm having thoughts of using some canned apple pie filling and doctoring it with some of those special ingredients.

You can add it right out of the skillet if you bake it right away 😊
