*Dude, you forgot to show the FINISHED PRODUCT of how it looked after it was baked. I was LOOKING FORWARD to it* oh well, I will watch her make Sticky Buns!
jsphfrtz , Thanks! Needed an old fashioned homemade pie crust recipe for a blueberry pie this mother's day Sunday! Your grandma is adorable :-) And you have one of the best interviewing voices. The timber and clarity sounds great.
Thank you so much for sharing, I have never been able to do pie crust, biscuits or fry chicken. Now I can try your pie crust.tomorrow.. morning .got to get to bed. It's almost 1 am.
Watch and listen young people. You are not only getting instructions in making a pie crust, you are getting a lesson in integrity, humility and the love between a grandson and grandmother. Bless you both!
@@EatAtJoes Grandma's skills and humility are not common sense, they are true signs of traditional up bringing, learned skills over time, wisdom, hard work, and her choice to treat people kindly enough to make me feel that even I could make my own pie. Extraordinary person. Thank you for sharing the video
How wonderful it is to see the love and respect you feel for your Grandmother!! I wish that more young people would take the time to sit with older family members and show them how invaluable they are. I still wish that mine were here, today.
Eat At Joe's: I owe you and your grandmother a debt of gratitude. The first time I did this recipe, it turned out perfect. Since then, I bake pies whenever I want a pie. I'm no longer afraid of how it's going to turn out. The crust tastes identical to the pies my mother used to bake. Thank you!
I'm 78 and still remember my mother's pie crusts as a child. Made the same way, shortening was the only difference. Thank you for your love for your Grandmother.
I've tried for 30 years to make a great pie crust and never succeeded - Grandma Hope, with your recipe & technique I just won a blue ribbon in our fundraiser!! thank you!
I've watched this video multiple times and it never gets old. I love the admiration and pure love that you have for your grandma. She must've adored her "little" grandson while you ere growing up , that's obvious now, seeing the pride that you have for her..and I can certainly see why. I hope that all is going well for her..for you both ❤❤
Grandmothers like yours are the backbone of any nation. This is precious. My Grammie, Mom and Aunts were fantastic in the kitchen, too. I miss them all. I tried making a crust recently, but now I know I left out sufficient water as it cracked and wouldn't hold together. Won't be making that mistake again now that I know the cause. Bake on!
She's the best and, yes, water seems to be the key... If you'd like to check out her sticky buns, take a look at her new video here th-cam.com/video/qWQ4bQeS6w0/w-d-xo.html ! And thanks for watching!
All of my 66 years of my married life I have been trying to make the perfect pie crust. I followed your recipe and made a lemon pie for my 65 yr old sons birthday. Finally got it to turn out perfect. Thank you so much. I’m 87 yrs old. Better late than never as the saying goes. So sweet of your grandson to put you on you tube, Thanks, Ellie
🌹Big wooooooooow for grandma it’s beautiful amazing awesome 👏 pie 🥧 I love the way grandma explained grandma you are supper sweet teach wood may god bless you and family 🌹
Awwwww... .We all know for sure who's making pies for family gatherings. When sweet grandma goes to heaven. What a blessing to have a granny. And to be able to spend time with her. And get to have the honors of getting her wisdom and craft past down to you in person! I never had the honors of knowing my grandparents. They lived in Mexico, and I grew up in Colorado. And my parents never made trips to go see them. You're one lucky kid to be able to experience the love and tlc of a grandmother!
My Mer-Ma is no longer in the kitchen, but her Spirit is with me every time I make biscuits & tomato gravy, or Lacey Cornbread! The “secrets” we learn when we take the Time to be Present with our Angels on Earth. 🦋🙏🦋
I just love this. Sometimes I watch it just to spend time with your grandma. If she’s still with us, please thank her. This crust makes the best hand pies for a church picnic!😊
I am so thankful for your grandmas pie crust recipe. I am 66 yrs old and have tried many recipes. My crusts were always hard, never flaky. I just baked an apple pie and it is the best one that I have ever made. I can't wait to share it with my family.
Thank you for sharing your Grandmother. I lost my Mom before I was wise enough to learn this art. I would give almost anything for one more hug from Mama and my Ma-Maw. Sweetie, hug her every chance you get. Much love.
I love that she said it makes you feel like an artist! I just realized that's the reason I love baking. I'm very artsy, and love baking! Thank you Grandma!
thanks so much for this video, I am 62 years old and cook and bake after watching my mom through the years, but I lost her early, she was only 54 when she passed and I was just 23 and the one thing I didn't get was her pie crusts. Every time I make pies I always talk to her and say, I didn't pay enough attention mom,,, help me... I can do them but still struggle. These days they all put butter in their crusts, which my mom never did, and she did everything by hand. This is truly a lost art.. I thank you so much for taking the time to do this and I would love to see her do other things as well, cakes, cookies, maybe those yeast rolls she said she liked to make. I just found this and really loving it alot! thank you, thank you very very much.
also I want to say, I love that you love your grandma and taking the time to spend with her. I have two granddaughters that are 19 and 20 and couldn't care less if they saw me, and when I tried to help them with things, I get, things have changed since you were young grandma. You are a treasure to love your grandma so very much.
First, thank you for watching, and thank you for the comments. I hope your pie crusts start coming out better. If I can show more stuff in the future, I absolutely will. To extend my commentary, as you did yours, I'd offer the following insight: I'm 35 and I didn't have my life anywhere near together until I was 30. This, despite decades of school culminating in multiple degrees. And that's not an uncommon story "these days" because "things have changed since you were young." Like you say, your grandma dying in her early 50s when you were in your early 20s. But your granddaughters are younger, now, than you were, then...and not only is their grandma is in her 60s, but she's gonna' be around for a few more decades, at least. It's this life extension that has dramatically shifted our culture in the last century. My parents are in their 60s and they look better than their parents did when they were in their 50s. Fifty years ago, you grew up in your teens: now, you grow up in your 20s, after being babied until you're a teen. Go back a century and, as a teenager, you needed to function in adult life...because you were almost certainly going to be dead by 50. I don't mean to turn this into a history lecture of times you lived through and I didn't, because I'm pretty sure you know more about them than I do. My point is that you should have hope. Because your 20-something granddaughters, now, are actually just like your teenage daughters were, back in the 1980s/1990s, in terms of their overall maturity. Maturity has elongated along with the extension of physical health. We baby children until they're teens, making their 20s the time for the kind of self-exploration that used to happen in high school and college. Just as we've extended the lifespan by 20 years in the last 100 years, we've extended childhood/puberty/sophomoricism by nearly that same number. The "bad news" is that this kind of thing is going to continue to progress as we continue advance medical technology, allowing us to push people who are your age right now into centenarians by 2060. The good news is, I doubt when you were my age, you thought "At 60, I'll only be 2/3 of the way through life." More good news is that, when those granddaughters of yours hit their proper maturity in ten years, you'll still be alive at 70, acting like your grandma did when she was 50. My grandma, in this video, has never seen this video: she's only 20 years older than you and the tech barrier is that slim. It's hard to imagine a time 50 years ago where a farm with a dozen hands on it can't use certain machines until the youngin' gets there, because he's the only one who knows how to operate them: that is 100% how it is on the farm, now. Times change but, as they do, try to continue to advance yourself and embrace technological development, and stay positive, because the future is gonna' be great! Thanks for watching (and for reading this novel I wrote)!
@@EatAtJoes thank you for taking the time to write this, and your words, I appreciate them very much. My husband tries to tell me the same thing really and I kinda know that but it still hurts. Mostly I think because I was like a second mom to those girls most of their lives, and then their mom got sick, my daughter, she wasnt just my daughter but my best friend, we did everything together, I rarely left my house without her, and then she came down with breast cancer at age 30 and we went through almost 7 years of that, and I took care of them all, but was with my daughter every step of the way, then I lost her and I thought we were so close we would be their for each other and lean on each other but that didn't happen either.. They moved on very quickly and just forgot about us. We live way away from everything and no other family around. I think its just the combination of it all. If I had their mom around to tell me things and make me try to see things as you have done here too, I think it might be easier. But its life and theres nothing you can do about it, just certainly hasn't turned out the way I thought it would. Family has always been the most important thing to me, and in my life and I go on most days because you have to right? what else can you do? But every now and then when I see something like you with your grandma it makes my heart hurt again, but I just wanted to praise you for being there with her and taking the time. I do thank you and I know what you say is true, times have changed, I don't think I like them much lol. I think the past was a much nicer place. You are really quite a young man to take the time to write me and I really appreciate it, thank you so much and for your kind words of hope, because really we all need that don't we!
Admirable, how with not electronics, not appliances , this beautiful Grandma work in the kitchen, do you know why? Because she cooks with LOVE. This is the best ingredient, and the best utensils. Send you a kiss
I can't thank you enough for posting this. And God Bless your grandmother for her beautiful art of baking. I am just getting into baking pies and have had soooo much trouble with the crust. Her way is similar to my mother-in-law's who now lives too far to teach me now that I'm ready. I was successful only once at making the crust. I will most certainly be watching this again at my next attempt. Thanks again! 💛
I will be 65 in Feb. & still yet, I felt as if I was once again a little girl watching my beloved grandma making pie.❤️👵 I was taught to use tapioca as a thickener too and really feel it is the best thing for fruit pies. I have been lazy for SO many years & have used frozen crusts (never with good results). But now I'm inspired so will find my rolling pin & give this a whirl for first time in over 25 years. 😊 Please tell Grandma that a great grandma from Hawaii sends her much love & prayers for bright blessings. Aloha! Sunny 🌞🌻
Thank you so much! For an awesome rolling pin, take a look at at a rolling pin that includes adjustable "rings" that will help you roll out a flat even crust very easily!
@wendy pearson I'll do that! 🙂 Maybe I'll make a pie on my channel (so many of my viewers like me to teach them to cook) and sample it to see how the crust turned out. 🙂👍
@@godzdaughterh1180 hey, Hi there! 👋 I was born in Iowa City, family from Dubuque! You're not far from there! Lovely part of the country!🙂❤️ God Bless! 🤗 Sunny 🌞🌻
I haven’t watched this in a long time. I had forgotten how much I loved this video. Your gramma knew what she was doing. I enjoy baking, but my pie crusts are never quite what I want them to be. I ran across this video again and rewatched. So enjoyed and I wrote down everything she said. I’m Gonna try her way. I do hope she is doing well. Glad I found this. She just looks like such a sweet lady. Thanks again
Well, it’s Thanksgiving tomorrow 2023. So, I watched again and today I made this crust and the same pie. It’s in the oven now. I don’t recall seeing the oven temp or time for baking. I had an idea, because I’ve made pies before, but was wanting your grandmas way. So , if that could be added maybe just to the recipe or a reply to this post, that would be great. I’m baking it at 400 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes? Thanks and I do hope your grandma is doing well.
I love how grandma and grandson interacted in a respectful, down to earth conversation, learning and sharing. Absolutely precious and learning about the virtue and beauty of giving and sharing. I love both of you. Thank you so very much.
Lovely presentation grandma I can't wait to make your version of pie crust! It looks like it would be "very light and fluffy!" 😁👍 One thing you didn't mention was "How long do you cook it for?"
I've viewed this video afew times. Her experience shows with Grandma's beautiful pies. This is a work of art! I keep learning valuable tips & I've been making pies for years. God bless this special lady!!!
Best pie crust video I have ever seen. I now know the reason my pie crust never rolls out right - not enough water!! Thank you Grandma!! Lots of love to you and your grandson.
Your Grandma Hope is such a precious lady. This recipe is awesome! I made an apple pie with using this recipe and it turned out beautifully. This is a definite keeper for future use. Thank-you for sharing and posting.
Beautiful lady and excellent pie crust. I just baked an apple pie and it is perfect. I have tried many recipes and could never get it right. I can't wait to share with my family.
It's lovely to see Grandma in action. She has such a "light hand" with her mixing and rolling out of the dough. It makes such a big difference in the texture and taste of the finished product!
I noticed that too. I think that's where I go wrong. I've only made one really good pie crust in many attempts and it was so stinking time consuming and detailed. (Make sure the kitchen isn't too warm! Make sure the ingredients and bowls are cold! Put them in the freezer to make sure! Refrigerate the crust before using! Blah blah blah.) Yes, the end result was good, but like I said, so time consuming and downright stressful! Haha. I will have to try grandma's recipe and be sure to be very gentle with it. Thanks for the video. If you could put the recipe and baking instructions in the description that would be perfect. 😊
@@brookiebakerie If you're using shortening, it'll help a lot with the annoying parts you've heard (i.e. "too warm" or "working too much" or whatever blah blah). You only need to worry about temperatures when you're working with a butter or a lard, which has a 95F melt temp. Shortening has a 115F melt temp, so its much more forgiving. May all your baking be unstressful! :) I'll try to get something in the comments. Thanks for watching!
This was SO heart warming to watch. What wonderful skill and tradition and clearly: LOVE goes into each pie she makes. I found myself calming down just watching! Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Great job...and THANK YOU, Gramma!
My wife passed away after 30 married. I am 58 year old man and familiar around the kitchen.. But have always been wary to make pie's. Mum is 90 year's old and still at home, her baking days are over. Your video is awesome . Very well done. Thank you for sharing. Your grandson is lucky to have you. . Im looking forward to making the $1000. pie. Many blessing's Is this crust good for meat pie's and butter tart's. love to see future videos.
I have watched probably 50 or more videos on the best pie crust, some were even pastry chefs and I have to say your Grandmas looked the best and was probably one of the easiest. I cant wait to try this. Thank you for sharing. (Why would anyone click the thumbs down on this?)
That is some serious praise, Barbara! Thank you! And, while I can't answer definitively: I think the dislikes are coming from the use of Crisco. Thanks for watching!
I so wish to have seen the final product out of the oven and after cooling and the slice of it, and of course the ooo's and yummm's of the taste of it! But enjoyed watching the beautiful masterpiece made by skilled hands... thank you!
I miss my Grandma soooo much! Her pies were awesome her crust always perfect. Bless both of you. Take as many videos as you can. Spend as much time as you can with you’re Grandma. I’d give anything to just have a smile a hug. ❤️
My Uncle, a Philly Boy, Navy Cook, would measure shortening by: in a 2+ cup measure, 1 cup of water, add shortening by the spoonful until the water level is 2 cups high. That was his 1 cup of shortening. yep gather out the shortening leave the water behind. use the water to moisten the flour. he used salt and a sprinkling of sugar to the crust. It was flakey, a tiny bit sweet, and never left behind on the plate.
The best pie making tutorial I’ve ever watched. And this lovely lady has such a humble spirit. What a beautiful gift her grandson has given their family and all of us who found this you tube video. Thank you for sharing. It brought back so many wonderful memories I have of my Nana cooking and baking family dinners and holiday meals. She’s the one who taught me how to cook. Thank you for sharing your pie wisdom, Grandma Hope! I finally figured out where my pies have gone wrong and I can fix it now! It was all in the water, of all the things! You're amazing.
That's excellent! I'm so happy you figured it out. I hope your pies turn out awesome! I'll pass the message along to her when I see her in a couple of weeks. Stay tuned for more in the coming months! Thanks for watching!
I think your grandmother is WONDERFUL. Thank you both for sharing her wonderful knowledge & expertise. She seems such an amazing, classy, beautiful soul that has humility, strength of character & takes pride in her work. I never had a Grandmother to teach me these things & to share her time & love with- we appreciate her time & knowledge with us (both of you) now. My mom is gone & I wish I could have asked her so many things. God Bless you both for these wonderful videos. I am so glad that you are recording her valuable advice, skills & spending this valuable time together. I will be using this pie crust recipe for baking pies & hopefully will be able to teach my girls & grand babies in the kitchen one day. 😁💖🤗👍
This made me so happy. My 19 year old son adores his grandmother and it is so nice to hear the love and respect in your voice for yours! My mother uses a similar recipe for her crusts. Delicious!
love that your getting your grandmothers recipe on video. when you are an old person yourself you will look back on your grandmothers lesson and be so glad you did.
What a lovely lady Miss Hope and an obviously precious grandmother to her grandson.. I’m an avid baker and I thoroughly enjoyed this homemade video of a very experienced piecrust and pie maker! your tips were valuable your explanation was excellent and completely thorough. thank you😘
Your Grandma is awesome! She reminds me very much of my late maternal Grandmother, who made awesome pies. It was, also, awesome to hear the pride and love you have for your Grandmother in your voice.
Thank you for giving us Grandmas pie crust...I remember making pies with my Nana, but I haven't made a pie in a long time. This has inspired me to make a pie . God bless you both.
New friend here of your channel today. Lovely, loving grandma. Ty for sharing your video and your recipe and life's tips with us ALL. HUGS AND GOD bless us everyone
I made this just like grandma said to, it was easy! It turned out ”perfect”!! I love this recipe and her way of beautiful crust, it will be the only way and recipe from here on out! Thank you, grandma👍🙏🏻❤️❤️
I'm glad to hear someone else tried the recipe and it turned out great. Mine didn't, even though I added extra water it still crumbled. Willing to try it again though.
Many thanks to you and your Gramma for all the effort! My pie crust skills are enriched now and I'm feeling much more confident in trying my hand at this!!

You are “blessed “ to have a loving Grandma 👵. Brings back memories of my grandma & mom, always cooking & baking on the farm. Nothing better than homemade!
Hi Jerfe', I just made my second batch of Grandma Hope's pie crust recipe. I'm making Pumpkin Pie, my husband can't wait for Thanksgiving. What kind are you going to make?
You can do it! The dough for the crust takes time, but it's not something that has to be done in one sitting. You can take ten minutes to mix the dough, then cover it in the fridge until you have ten minutes to roll out one or two crusts, which you can also just layer with plastic wrap and put back into the fridge until you have ten minutes to build your pie. After that, the oven does all the work! Good luck! Thanks for watching!
A great video that would have ben made more special seeing the finished pie and you and Grandma enjoying it together at the end! Thanks for sharing. She's a beautiful treasure.
I think I was just too excited at the end of it all, and I forget to turn the camera back on! I promise it looked/tasted great, though. Future videos, I'll be sure to remember the ending! haha Thank for watching!
holy moly, i have tried for so many years to make a halfway decent pie crust. I tried soooo many recipes, have done OK but nothing that i was REALLY proud of. so many recipes are tortuous, freezing the butter, ice cold water etc., refrigerating the dough, etc, etc. and always resulted in a dough that was very difficult to roll out. not one mention of the need for enough water. i made this recipe today, easy as pie, lolo and the result (peach crumble pie) was devoured (3 people) in one day!! the crust: perfection! thank you so much, i have now achieved one of my life goals!!
Thank you for this. It's so thoroughly explained and demonstrated that I think I could do it confidently. All the little tips and tricks probably make the difference in excellence. It was also beautiful with her technique in decorative venting. She is an artist in her way as she said.
When I was in my mid 20's I was about to give up making my own pie crusts bc they always fell apart when I tried to transfer them into the pie pan. My Aunt Annie told me how to make a pie crust with flour, salt, egg, water and a smidgeon of vinegar and it worked like a champ. I'm going to try your method and see if I can't make it work; I probably wasn't putting enough water in, as you pointed out! The way your grandson treats you is so beautiful. And I applaud you for not pointing out how horrible the store-bought pie crusts taste. I'll do the negative talking on that point for you.
That really looked like perfect pie dough. Grandma, you made it look easy. I will definitely try your recipe. It’s great we have people like you to show us younger generations how to bake, cook. It’s a gift to us. Thank you kind lady for sharing your recipe.
Thank you for sharing... my Grandmother taught me how to make pie crust too way back in the 1970s. She taught me to cut the shortening in with my fingertips and it is faster and consistent. I can't do it any other way. The water is always a variable depending on the humidity. You just have to go by feel.

I've always known how to make my own crust, but I kept an open mind while watching your grandmother make her pie and crust. I learned a lot! Thank you. Thanks too for the 'why' questions that were asked of her.

oh well, I will watch her make Sticky Buns!
jsphfrtz ,
Thanks! Needed an old fashioned homemade pie crust recipe for a blueberry pie this mother's day Sunday!
Your grandma is adorable :-)
And you have one of the best interviewing voices. The timber and clarity sounds great.
Wow that was quick! An answer to my dearest prayer. Thank you both so much doing Grandma Hope's Sticky Bun baking session. Can't wait to try them!
Thank you so much for sharing, I have never been able to do pie crust, biscuits or fry chicken. Now I can try your pie crust.tomorrow.. morning .got to get to bed. It's almost 1 am.
Good luck,@@deborahkelly1489! I hope it turns out great! Thanks for watching!
Watch and listen young people. You are not only getting instructions in making a pie crust, you are getting a lesson in integrity, humility and the love between a grandson and grandmother. Bless you both!
Funny, I thought the same thing - how wonderful to witness the respect and love they have for each other -
Thank you all so much for the love!
i don't need either one, been already taught both by common sense
@@carryclass6807 Your statement indicates otherwise.
It's true! Thanks for watching!
I've tried for 30 years to make a great pie crust and never succeeded - Grandma Hope, with your recipe & technique I just won a blue ribbon in our fundraiser!! thank you!
That is AWESOME!!! We are so happy to hear this and truly happy for you! Thanks for watching and keep baking those prize-winning pies!
Congrats!!! 😎😊
@@EatAtJoes , *New SUBBIE* 😎😊
Congrats
Congratulations on your blue ribbon. I will be trying this recipe just because of you❤
I've watched this video multiple times and it never gets old.
Thank you so much!
What a great grandson who appreciates his grandma's baking skills so much. A wonderful way for her to leave her legacy to family and friends!
I plan to get more as soon as I'm able, so please keep watching!
Awwwww... .We all know for sure who's making pies for family gatherings.
That’s what I (a GM) was thinking,”what a great grandson.”
Rosamaria Gonzalez Yes, I also never had grand parents -that’s why I try to be a good “grandma”.
I was glued by her choices of kind words and your comment that never a bad word about anything or anyone. She's my personal inspiration. Be Blessed!
Thanks for watching!
Yes, my favorite part as well. She is a wonderful role model.
I love how grandma even explains what brand is the best! She's a smart lady and knows her stuff! I'm so glad she's shared all of her experience!
Me too!
I am so thankful for your grandmas pie crust recipe. I am 66 yrs old and have tried many recipes. My crusts were always hard, never flaky. I just baked an apple pie and it is the best one that I have ever made. I can't wait to share it with my family.
You are so welcome! I am thrilled it came out well for you. Enjoy!
An artist.Perhaps the most skilled of any baker I've met in 61 years. An honor.Sincerely.A great lady indeed.Thank you.
Stay tuned for more in the coming months! Thanks for watching!
Awesome grandson bragging about his Grandma💖 And such a beautiful humble Grandma!!! So blessed💖💖💖
Thanks for watching!
She's a baking inspiration!
I loved when she told him that bragging is “not good”. Lol
Always a lesson in Hope's Kitchen. Thanks for watching!
Lets face it, no-one is going to play your trumpet for you.
@@FarleyHillBilly when something is real good, somebody always will. 😉
thanks so much for this video, I am 62 years old and cook and bake after watching my mom through the years, but I lost her early, she was only 54 when she passed and I was just 23 and the one thing I didn't get was her pie crusts.
And that's not an uncommon story "these days" because "things have changed since you were young."
Like you say, your grandma dying in her early 50s when you were in your early 20s.
The good news is, I doubt when you were my age, you thought "At 60, I'll only be 2/3 of the way through life."
More good news is that, when those granddaughters of yours hit their proper maturity in ten years, you'll still be alive at 70, acting like your grandma did when she was 50.

Hi
Your Grandma is precious! You both make me smile!
Thanks Jan! You're too sweet!
How lucky you are to have such a sweet Grandma and wonderful baker. I never knew either of my Grandmothers. She's a treasure.
She is. Thanks!
This was my late mom’s recipe as well, she taught me now I’m in charge of family pie making. I miss and love you mom.❤️🥧
Thanks for watching!
This recipe is what brought me here. Watching and listening to her brings back memories of my gram.
Aloha!

Thank you so much! For an awesome rolling pin, take a look at at a rolling pin that includes adjustable "rings" that will help you roll out a flat even crust very easily!
Oh, thanks but I have a French rolling pin and am pretty good with it 😉😁
Hi Sister🙋♀️ from Wisconsin USA 🤗😍😘🙇♀️
@wendy pearson I'll do that! 🙂 Maybe I'll make a pie on my channel (so many of my viewers like me to teach them to cook) and sample it to see how the crust turned out. 🙂👍

What a humble, dignified lady she is!

It was flakey, a tiny bit sweet, and never left behind on the plate.
debra c thanks for sharing that information. Kinda cool tip!
Great tip! That would make a less messy cup to clean, too!
debra; Or, buy those Crisco sticks, already measured. you can cut them, or throw in one= One cup.

You are “blessed “ to have a loving Grandma 👵. Brings back memories of my grandma & mom, always cooking & baking on the farm. Nothing better than homemade!
Thank you so much for watching!
Grandma, you are such a sweetheart! I want to send you my love❤️
Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing this. I liked and subscribed. I can't wait to make it.😊😊😊
Hi Jerfe', I just made my second batch of Grandma Hope's pie crust recipe. I'm making Pumpkin Pie, my husband can't wait for Thanksgiving. What kind are you going to make?
@@bonnieboo2293 don't know yet. My schedule is so tight. Can you make one and I will buy it from you? I want to taste yours.
I miss my grandma. I love this video. Your grandmother is awesome. Can’t wait to try this recipe.
Good luck, Crissy! Thanks for watching!
A great video that would have ben made more special seeing the finished pie and you and Grandma enjoying it together at the end! Thanks for sharing. She's a beautiful treasure.
Janette Lavender Yes, I agree!
I think I was just too excited at the end of it all, and I forget to turn the camera back on! I promise it looked/tasted great, though. Future videos, I'll be sure to remember the ending! haha Thank for watching!
Plead the blood
@@EatAtJoes I'll be looking forward to it as well
Thanks so much for the video. I have never been able to make pie crust. I am differently going to try this.
holy moly, i have tried for so many years to make a halfway decent pie crust.
You are an awesome Grandson! You are blessed to have caught on early that Grandma's recipes are worth their weight in gold
Stay tuned for more in the coming months! Thanks for watching!
So glad I stopped and listening, watching you and ‘grandson’ demonstrated your pie crusts and recipe of your pie. Thank you so very much.
Thanks for watching!
What a lovely Grandma ! Looking forward to see more videos with grandma.
I plan to get more videos like this happening starting this next summer, when I return to the USA! Thanks for watching!
I am an artist and I have to say, this is a work of art, with passion and love...besides being scrumptious, I am sure.
Thank you so much!
Thank you for this. It's so thoroughly explained and demonstrated that I think I could do it confidently. All the little tips and tricks probably make the difference in excellence. It was also beautiful with her technique in decorative venting. She is an artist in her way as she said.
It's only 3 things, plus salt
Thank you so much for watching and enjoying! May all your pie crusts turn out wonderfully!
@@EatAtJoes Mom did a good job with you . Many blessings to you.
Yes, it's all about the water! Using the quarter-folding method ensures a good transfer, even with a thin and large dough. Thanks for watching!
That really looked like perfect pie dough. Grandma, you made it look easy. I will definitely try your recipe. It’s great we have people like you to show us younger generations how to bake, cook. It’s a gift to us. Thank you kind lady for sharing your recipe.
Good luck! I hope it works great! Thank you for watching!

I am SO going to try it this way!! Thanksgiving is around the corner and I still am in charge of the pumpkin pies 😁
Short Gus I’ve!08
Thank you for sharing... my Grandmother taught me how to make pie crust too way back in the 1970s. She taught me to cut the shortening in with my fingertips and it is faster and consistent. I can't do it any other way. The water is always a variable depending on the humidity. You just have to go by feel.
Good advice! Thanks for watching!
Hi
I love grandma's cup💐😊
I need one! Thanks for watching!
I wish your grandmother was mine. She’s beautiful and such a lovely spirit 🙏🏽🥰❤️
She's the best!
Grandma very great job!

It's wonderful that you are recording your grammas recipes. Thank you!
I am in Illinois this week (finally) so I will be making all kinds of good stuff, hopefully! Stay tuned! Thanks for watching!
jsphfrtz : I’m in love your Grandma 💐💐
Question for you. How much of the sugar and tapioca mixture does your Grandma add to her raspberries? I went back to listen, but she didn’t mention. Thanks so much.

Hi
Thank you both so much I wish I had a grandmother like you mine never did anything like that with me. Your so sweet and lovely thanks for inspiring me to learn how to make a pie like yours. Maybe one day my grandchildren will live close enough to me and I could teach them. We definitely need to continue our culture with the younger generation. May the Lord bless you in every way.
I agree. TH-cam is a great platform for the spreading of culture, not just to people we love, but to people we don't even know. More than anything else in the world that I've seen in my travels, I think TH-cam is the most responsible for the rapid advancement of a globalized culture.

Loved the pie video!!
I've always known how to make my own crust, but I kept an open mind while watching your grandmother make her pie and crust. I learned a lot! Thank you. Thanks too for the 'why' questions that were asked of her.
Thanks for watching!
