This is a cracking review, cheers Dave. They get a 10 on looks from me, they sort of remind me of how I felt about Skyway Mags back in the 80’s…awesome! I’m not sure I’d put them in a drop bar bike, but I so would put these on a flat bar bike.
Nice review. I bought a set of these for my Trek Rail 7 eMTB as well. For me, the most attractive attribute is that the wheels will never go untrue. On one of my 30km daily rides, 4 spokes snapped in quick succession... pretty scary experience on a normal spoked wheel. These 6 spokes carbon would be a good replacement to improve upon reliability. I would be interested in knowing the long term performance and reliability of the rear hub. As for weight, i am not too fuss. Actually slightly higher weight helps to maintain higher average speeds, which is essential for keeping the travelling time under 1 hour, as i need to maintain between 40 kmh to 43 kmh over the entire course. Maintaining the angular momentum helps to maintain the pace with my interval training workouts over the hilly and windy terrain. 😅

I have to say, for £1,200 ,I'd like 10/10 - and that's definitely out there! As a child of the 80's, I am most disappointed that you didn't mention Skyway Tuffs - the icon of 5 spoke wheels! (Rock on Andy Ruffel! Remember the Ruffel-up?) This sort of proves to me that something that ain't broke ain't ready for fixing yet, and there hasn't been a revolution - they look quirky but aren't really a wheel revolution 🤭😬but it's nice that people are still trying to innovate - something must come of it! I wonder if the "spokes" create more of a vortex and wind resistance than traditional spokes?
Any idea if the included mudguard for that fork will still fit with those wider tyres? Clearance looks tight. Would like to try the wider tyres but don't want to sacrifice the mudguard.
I have been looking at those wheels for a while for my gravel bike. For the price, they are reasonably light. The looks are different. If you run them, you have to not mind standing out.
is there any way for you to weigh these without the tires or anything else mounted to them? I would love to get an actual weight of these wheels documented. I just don't trust the manufacturers numbers. thanks!
Love your bike and the wheels!! I too get the silent treatment from ‘serious’ cyclists when i commute on my hybrid bike- they don’t know what they are missing🤣🤣🤣🤘🏼🤘🏼

They are Renthal fat bars, they are pretty short…I cut a large bit off.
Yes, look cool... not for me though... rim brakes! But how do they sound? Do they make a cool noise like the try spokes?
