I need your help so I have this 45 inch Samsung TV and I was drinking juice and the juice went down the wrong way which caused me to spit a mouthful of juice to the front of my TV and now I have a singular purple line down the exact middle of my screen and it's only a line I can see everything else including the line lol I don't wanna trash the TV because I feel like it's not really damaged
@@generalgrievous4771 Thanks for watching, any update? In most TVs, the electrical connections for the internal ribbon wiring are ocated at bottom of tv. The juice may have sneaked its way into those connections and is causing this. Removing back panel and gaining access to internal portion of TV to clean, dust, and dry everything might be your best route to take.
My new 55 inch LG has suddenly got lines. First just 2 on the left. Then i kept it off a week and when i turned it on again. MORE LINES ON THE OTHER SIDE TOO NOW
Thanks for watching, if you are confident that nothing has hit the TV screen, it may be as simple as opening up the back portion of TV and cleaning any and all dust buildup.
I have an LG OLED55B9PLA that suddenly got 1 small white line from top to bottom in the middle of my screen. There also appears to be some smaller horizontal blurryness around the white vertical line. Would you suggest just opening up the tv cleaning it a bit and if this doesn't help replacing the TCON / all ribbon cables? I have never done such a DIY, but am comfortable with opening up electronics as I did some replacements on my phone before. But it's a whole other ballgame when I don't know what the problem is 🤷♂
Thanks for watching. tThat’s a great place to start however before removing panel, we recommend performing a picture quality test. Hi, I love your videos. It makes DIY t.v projects appear very easy, and I am encouraged by them to fix. Here's my situation, I recently received a brand new 43'Vizio t.v, which worked A-OK until yesterday morning when unfortunately it got a small hit (hardly heard the impact noise) from a belt buckle as the belt was being removed from my nephew's waist. When the t.v was turned on later, there were vertical lines in the middle on the main screen and lines all over on different inputs. Am wondering if in my case what was explained in your video will work as it was hit) or is it that the issue is something I have to take to the shop to fix since am new T.v DIY. What is your recommendation on this. Thanks for your response. Have a great day
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders Gd nt. No I not seeing any impact points. Just the vertical lines. Sometimes in one area (e.g. straight down the middle), other times it's full screen. One other I just noticed is that none of the picture settings work.
@@shayejohn6319 Thanks for the reply, in this case a simple simple cleaning may resolve issue. If not, ribbon wiring may be causing this. Below is a link to our video showing ribbon wiring replacement. th-cam.com/video/O9GTDo2Bfg4/w-d-xo.html 😎👍
Hi there, what do you think would be a common cause if the LED TV Philips 55" is working for some time, half a minute, a minute, than vertical lines pop up, always different colors and wideness? Do you think something could be overheating? I will try with ribbons and wiring and even maybe some dust that could have accumulated over the years. Thanks for your overall help, much appreciated. Bless you.

I have a smart tv Hitachi 50 inch. It has developed black zigzag lines (2). One on far left of screen one slightly right of centre. The picture is behind these lines. What you reckon?

Same here I just turned my 55 inch jvc roku tv and my entire screen has vertical white lines can not even see the screen , tried the rest button for 30 seconds and the power button ..no luck
@Costa I called jvc and they suggested to hold to power on off button for 30 seconds ..and then press the reset button in the back and hold for 30 seconds ..neither one worked
Any Idea what the problem would be with a Sony Bravia Model xbr-65x850e 65", It has one black line going across it, I tried out messing with the ribbon wiring but I do not think it is that so I bought a new T-con board and I'm waiting for it to come in the mail to see if that is the issue.
Good morning, hope the video helped. Chances are it won’t be compatible and because of that, it may be damaging to the electronics of Main Board and Power Board…UNLESS… the part number of the Tcon board in your 75” TV is the same part number as the one that you’re taking out of the smaller TV. Thanks for watching, sounds like you’ve been busy. Try unplugging tv for 5 minutes, this should allow your tv to reset. If that doesn’t work, you will need to go into the settings and reconfigure tv settings/features.
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders It's been unplugged for days and still doing it. If it won't boot up then how are you supposed to go into settings and reconfig?
@@philstevens9914 Thanks for the follow up. In that case, we would take the back panel off again and inspect everything. Verify all electrical connections are properly connected to their proper respective leads, and nothing is damaged in any way. Check all wires and boards for any signs of overheating or discoloration. Hopefully it’s just a loose connection. If all looks good, you may want to contact the company that you purchased new parts from and get a verification that the purchased parts are compatible with your model tv.
I've got the same TV except the 65 inch (series 6). Several lines on the right and one line on the left. They're black and other colours. No visible damage. Dear Sir, I have the same modell and after 7 years it started to make a high pitch noise when turned on, and at the same time I got multiple thin uniform horizontal lines all over the screen. Do you think it´s a panel problem? Best regards, Oscar
My Samsung 4K 32-in M7 monitor has a black vertical bar about two and a half inches wide, with a quarter inch wide white line, almost in the center of it. It's about the same width as the tab and in the same location. It's almost new, so no dust or dirt and I'm wondering if it's the main board or the screen. There is no t-con board in it. I watched another video where they said remove one of the ribbon cables next to the black line and see what it does. The screen was completely black when I did. I didn't try the other one, I wanted to learn a little more first. I cleaned the connection and put it back together and have the same problem. How do you know if it's the main board or the screen? I can buy another main board for a hundred bucks.

Hey! I have a question, Recently, I have had vertical lines on my sony tv. I checked the ribbon cables and noticed a white spot on the line where it connects. Could this be a bad ribbon cable?
Most likely, I would try to replace the ribbon cable, or try and see if pushing the wire together on that spot will temporarily fix it. If it does, a new cable may be all you need.
Thanks for watching & once ribbon wiring is faulty, there’s no saving it. Swapping won’t do anything & that’s a great question. Keep us posted on your DIY project. 😎👍
I have an issue with my Samsung tv that has a white line vertically on screen. I was told there was a spark in the tv and the white line appeared. What issue does this sound like? And what should I replace?
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Since there was a spark, you may have experienced an electrical short or power surge. Electrical short is usually caused by a loose wire connection or a melted or overheated wire internally. It may be as simple as removing back panel and re-securing a loose connection point. In most cases at this point, replacing your main power board will hopefully fix issue however if that does not fix issue, it may be your main board. If you replace both power board and main board and are still experiencing the same issues, it will be time to replace your panel. Please keep us posted, us DIYers need to stick together! 😎👍

MOST vertical lines on ASTC TV are due to BAD CABLE TV HOOK-UPS! Or in the case of the 43" Vizio TV mentioned below, such a poor-quality cheap TV "Shaye" should have had better sense than to ever bring it home! Why does a GOOD 44" Class TV cost 50% more than a Vizio? Pick-up the boxes. A good TV weighs TWICE as much (or more) than a cheap TV the same size class...I wonder why??? I just got an 8K monitor to use with my 8K DSLR-63" class. Weighs over 200 pounds (194Kg) but the picture quality will knock your eyes out.

@@generalgrievous4771
Thanks for watching, any update? In most TVs, the electrical connections for the internal ribbon wiring are ocated at bottom of tv.
The juice may have sneaked its way into those connections and is causing this. Removing back panel and gaining access to internal portion of TV to clean, dust, and dry everything might be your best route to take.
Thank you..Cleaned the connectors and my tv worked right again..
Thanks a lot for the valuable information Sir.

There also appears to be some smaller horizontal blurryness around the white vertical line. I have never done such a DIY, but am comfortable with opening up electronics as I did some replacements on my phone before. But it's a whole other ballgame when I don't know what the problem is 🤷♂

Have a great day
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Do you see any type of (impact) point where vertical & horizontal lines become sporadic?
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders Gd nt. No I not seeing any impact points. Just the vertical lines. Sometimes in one area (e.g. straight down the middle), other times it's full screen. One other I just noticed is that none of the picture settings work.

Thanks for the follow up.
I'm willing to open it up and check for dust and etc. Now, the manual of course says "DO NOT OPEN THE BACK PANEL". Where exactly is the danger, and how can I do this safely?
The 1st thing I would try is running a soft power cycle in your TVs menu to remove lines from your TV

Dear Sir,
I have the same modell and after 7 years it started to make a high pitch noise when turned on, and at the same time I got multiple thin uniform horizontal lines all over the screen. It's still possible to use the TV, and I have tried to switch HDMI ports and use antenna-cable with same results. I haven't used my TV a lot and usually dust it of once in a while.
Do you think it´s a panel problem?
Best regards,

I have a question my Samsung tv has lines and they look like they move what does that mean? And how can I fix that
Thanks for watching and welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. There are a few things that can cause this however the most likely issue is a buildup of dust, lint, or debris.
Check out the video link below, we do a walk-through cleaning our TV.
th-cam.com/video/-QdPg_jPkGY/w-d-xo.html
Next cause can be burnt out or damaged/loose ribbon wiring. Below is a video link showing us replacing river wiring.

Hi pls ,I’m watching this video for the first time.I watched the tv before I slept and I woke up trying to on it ,and the I saw a huge vertical line covering 1/3 of the screen ,but there’s no physical crack on the screen .But it shows more of a crack whenever I switch on the Tv.Do you know if anything actually happened to the TV? Or is it the screen
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Unfortunately, this can happen, you are not alone.
We would recommend performing a gentle DIY cleaning of internal portion of TV to see it this helps.
No luck, we recommend replacing your Tcon board to see if that fixes it. Keep us posted.
does this method work on any type of TV I have a Roku tv that has these thick lines going down the middle
I also have this problem, have you managed to get it fixed?
hello sir my tcon board test voltages in even and odd varies from -value to +value is that a problem
Thanks for watching, it might be in its early stages of failure. If you’re replacing your tcon board, we recommend replacing the ribbon wiring along with it. Below is a link to our video showing this procedure.

My 55 yr old bipolar sister through my brand new Samsung in the yard while I was at work so I have to figure out if I can repair it they just have vertical lines and it's a brand new Samsung looks like this one I don't know where the remote is and I have moved out that would like to salvage this TV
Thanks for watching, we are happy to help. If you can turn tv on, check to see if there appears to be any signs of an impact point on screen.
If there is, carefully inspect impact point to determine whether or not the damage is on outer panel or inner panel.
Impact damage will likely require the panel/screen to be replaced. Below is a link to our video showing replacement of this exact panel.
th-cam.com/video/OjaEzVa55Fw/w-d-xo.html
If there is no impact point, something may have slightly loosened…electrical connection…for example and that will be a friendlier fix than replacing panel. Below is a link to our video showing us opening up tv to gain access to internal parts.

Hi Michael. I have a Samsung tv at home which works fine for about 30 seconds to a minute, then the display shows lines/gets fuzzy, although I can still navigate the display. What could possibly be the issue?
Thanks for watching & it can be a couple different things, likely one of the common causes shown in this video. We are leaning toward a friendly cleaning as it may be a bit dusty inside...however the 2nd item we are thinking is the ribbon wiring.
Hi there. Wondering if you ever came across this situation . I have a Samsung tv that presents lines and blurry screen if it’s off for too long. If I turn it on and leave the problem goes away.
Thanks for watching, sounds like it needs a friendly cleaning. Dust buildup on internal electronics will cause that exact behavior.
I have a Vizio but my lines go from the bottom all the way to the top.
What’s up Steve, thanks for watching. Let’s get this figured out. Below are a few helpful troubleshooting videos which will allow you to get a better grasp on what causes these lines, common causes, & solutions.

Morning sir
What’s up Erwin.
Thanks for watching and sharing this.

Hi, great vids, I have a SAMSUNG UE55F6670SB TV that has vertical lines and a faint white picture, so you can just make out the picture on screen, it's like ghosting. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks
Thanks for watching, welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Common causes for your exact symptoms are:
1. Faulty ribbon wiring. Below is a link to our video showing replacement of ribbon wiring.
th-cam.com/video/O9GTDo2Bfg4/w-d-xo.html
2. Faulty Tcon Board.
However before replacing parts all together, we recommend a friendly cleaning of these parts. Below is a link to our video showing our cleaning process.

Wish You would explain this actually tv cause this is actually what’s wrong with mine. A impact hit but not a cracked screen. What should I do. Lol You didn’t actually address the issue on the Tv. Just gave a hole bunch of reasons that has nothing to do with a impact hit. I’m sorry I’m frustrated I’ve looked for 2 days an I keep getting no where.
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Let’s get this figured out.
If you have no physical crack on the outer screen, it’s possible that you have a crack on the inner panel located behind the screen which is portraying the crack and lines.
Since something hit the screen, it is unlikely anything is causing the lines other than a damaged internal panel.
We have attached a few links below however number 5 shows a step-by-step video on replacing panel.

My tv has vertical and horizontal line but it keep coming and going after I keep off and on the tv.
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. If it comes & goes, you most likely has dust buildup or a loose connection.
Loose connections can occur when TV is moved over the years on a full motion mount or being moved from one room to another.
