  • This is how I solved the problem with my Samsung 40" LED TV (Model UE40C6000RKXXU). This is not a permanent solution, I probably will need to change the faulty board in the future.

    Just did this, and it worked! Took a while for me to locate the area where it needed to be raised. I ordered a T-Con board because ShopJimmy said that was the cause of vertical lines and their crap didn't work, it made my picture worse with colorful dots; so I put back my old T-Con board and did this, it's working great so far! Thank you so much!

      fishywtf vertical lines like this actually is the t con board. If you follow Tampa tech he's a TH-camr on here that always talks about vertical lines and fixes tvs I trust him. But if another method works that's great maybe the t-con board you got was garbage but I've never tried it in the oven I'd be scared but everyone saying it worse so

    Hi massoud147. I had exactly the same problem as you with a 5,5 years old UE40C6000.
    I went to a repair center and they would fix it for 550€ (almost the price of a new set). So I searched the internet for a replacement of the mainboard and I found - and tried - this video. And your solution works now for a week PERFECTLY.
    Many thanks for taking the time to produce the video :-) - It saved me perhaps the cost of a replacement board +-130€
    I will report in the future if the "bended" plate keeps going well or if it may have caused other issues. If you do not hear me the first 3 months ... you may take it as good news.

    It is a short in either the cable in between the tcon board and main board or where it connects to the main board or tcon board. Changed 2 boards with same problem.

      Its not grounding its a faulty connection at the BGA and now the board is not fully seated on the thermal pad so it will accelerate the problem much faster that TV is dead now....... Proper repair would be to reflow and replace pad and reseat all connectors.

    Thanks for this! I just did it on my Samsung, same board. I did some further troubleshooting and I think I narrowed it down to that chip with a heatsink which is at 10 o'clock from the big one. It gets very hot and I think that the soldering (BGA) is loose to it. Not much to do unfortunately, I think your trick is the best. Question is, how long it will stay OK.

    • @massoudmakes
      @massoudmakes  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After the repair it worked perfectly for about two years then it started to happen again but only for a minute or so, then the lines would disappear as soon as the TV warmed up. Occasionally it needs a little tap on the back to get the picture perfect.

I have to slightly tap the TV after switching it on (2 Times) and then the pic stays. Until i switch it off and it starts from teh beginning again. Is there anybody who soldered anything since the Board with components is so tiny ?!? With my tv I noticed that by pressing on the top right side on the back I could get the picture perfect again, so I knew that is was some sort of loose connection and the rest you can see on the video.

      +massoud147 my Samsung LCD has the same problem as yours, vertical lines. I found that slightly jiggling the HDMI ports would make the lines go away. But it's gotten to the point now that jiggling those vertical lines no longer resolve the issue.

    Very good job/idea! But, i don't think is the board for herself, maybe is the ribbon cable the problem??? Anyway, is that the tcon?

    • @massoudmakes

      +vaccaro luisa I don't know what the board is called.

    • @UGotHookah
      @UGotHookah 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Antonio Carnevale the board that's the t-con has like 6 cables connected to it like three on each side very thin and I believe they're brown cables at the top somewhere it should say t con on it.

    • @kiiikoooPT
      @kiiikoooPT 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      no that isn't, that is the mainboard, and this tv has no tcon board i believe, everyone keeps saying replace tcon board in multiple videos, but this tv doesnt have one, i think
      at least i kind find it in my tv, and i have the exact same problem as this one on the video, but this didnt help me at all either :)

  • @TheMolokoid
    @TheMolokoid 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    solved my problem (cleaning the connection heads didn't work). instead of putting the screw under the board, we loosened the screw and then wrapped a cable tie under that particular screw.

    I also had several vertical lines in a Samsung TV Just doing a complete setup of the TV - like when it was first put in operation solved the problem. Part of the set up is to have the TV re-scan for channels . Resulted in no more vertical lines. No dissemble of TV was needed.

  • @hanspecans
    @hanspecans 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Solved my problem as well! Ordered a t-con for no reason!
    Should perhaps order a new main board since this fix is most likely temporary and just patching a broken solder point.

  • @GeorgeGeorge-xj2bc
    @GeorgeGeorge-xj2bc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The problem is in the soldering balls of some bga chip and bending slightly the pcb the cracked join fixes,but needs a real reflow until all the solder balls underneath bga chip melt and form new connections.

    so what did you do at 1:16?? you put the screw back BEHIND the board? and then relieved tension by backing off the screw on the board?

    • @massoudmakes
      @massoudmakes  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the screw is behind the board and by undoing it I managed to bend that corner just enough away from TV body to get the perfect picture.
