  • The transfer portal is destroying college football right before our very eyes and there's nothing that we can do about it. There are defintely some benefits for the players but if there are no guardrails put in place, this is really going to get out of hand. In this video, I share my concerns with it, and how it impacts G5 schools. #utsafootball #tulanegreenwave #northtexasfootball #memphisfootball

This is so real. It sucks that these big schools get to poach from smaller schools like ours, and then get to take credit for the growth of the prospect.

One of my favorite things about team sports, in addition to cheer for teams, is watching players grow and play. Learning players names, their stories, seeing them improve. It is one of the things that kept me away from men's college hoops since there are more one and dones there. Now there are so many people constantly jumping for place to place that you have no idea who will be there and it just makes the whole thing worse. Obviously I support player autonomy but this is becoming a worse system than them just being pros with contacts. And that is at the P5 level. It gets worse the smaller the school.

Imagine the NFL where all players are unrestricted free agents every year and there was zero salary cap. Btw, NIL is not life changing money. It’s a year or two changing.

For me, it's the commercials making the 1st quarter last 1 hour knowing we have close to NFL running clock rules. TP doesn't really bother me as much at it did at the beginning. Even with how many are in the portal. CFB teams have 80+ players, so coach all of them up! I will miss seeing Trey play.

MI was just talking about that wide receiver and how they just sat him on the bench. Same thing could happen to Moore. I could understand if they think they can't reach the NFL through Utsa but thats been proven wrong. Probably need to have the rule you have to sit a year if you transfer.

💯 This poaching of top G5 players hurts the progress that up and coming teams like UTSA made through the season.
The key to building a successful team should be consistency of their roster to build on year after year and raise the profile of the program much like Frank Harris and Rashad Wisdom did.

Lessons learned, Bottom line stay at UTSA, its better to play and get the stats and recognition, and future NFL noticing, then warming the bench because others may or will be better. These recruiters are poaching and not looking out for best interest of the transfer kid. I'd like to see data coming out of transfer portal players and there failures and successes going portal.

They need to pay the players a bonus for playing in a bowl game as an incentive. They need to close the portal until after the season and do away with the early signing day. It won't solve all the problems but it's a start. Even the coaches are starting to raise concerns.

They need to cap NIL otherwise you'll have schools like ole miss who are stockpiling athletes by paying them outrages amounts to not play. They are even poaching from other SEC schools so it's not just a G5 issue.
