I think the worse thing to do is to say season is over and not have a winning season and not go bowling. That will turn off future recruiting prospects and transfer prospects faster than ever and detour them to the conference rivals and in-state rivals to recruit or add. So don’t sabotage your season because not going the way you wanted. There are at least 4 of the 7 remaining games are winnable and maybe 5 to get to a 7-5 record and bowl game. As I said, the defense needs to tackle better and especially in the secondary and linebacker positions and on offense regardless who is QB, don’t self destruct with idiotic penalties and don’t hesitate to catch a ball or hit the hole or screen block but don’t be an illegal player down field, again non discipline penalties that just destroy your momentum. Traylor is a better coach than what he is doing now. But this season and last season brings on more pressure and criticism and doubt. Keep in mind, that UTSA is a young program but have legit and realistic expectations and standards and will not hesitate to move off Traylor if he struggles and has back to back bad seasons. This is why UTSA needs to finish strong and make a bowl and win that bowl game against whoever the opponent is.

So on other podcasts and channels I said that Traylor is a good coach but multiple reasons why better colleges passed on him. I caught lots of hate for saying that. I also said going into last season that UTSA would do no better than an 8-4 regular season and in year two of AAC maybe duplicate that but 5-7 or 6-6 would not be out of the realm of possibility to happen. Itsrab and other A-holes called me out and insulted me and said I didn’t know what I was talking about. I said that their defense last season and this season and last two years of CUSA action needed to tackle better and wrap up and quit trying for the big turnovers or big plays on defense and just swarm to the ball and don’t alligator arm tackle or tag as it looked like that is and was their defense acting like its tag not tackle. On offense don’t false start or do ignorant self destructive stuff and play and don’t get overconfident or overwhelmed by the moment either. I have on their schedule this season at least 5 losses and could be 7. Your OC has to go.

Embarrassing UTSA. Defense was pretty good, felt bad everytime they open the door for offensive and between penalties, dropped passes and Owen freaking out and running all over field preventing a sack, overthrown and underthrown passes, watching Owen was painful execution sucks and its embarrassing 😳 McCowan doesn't have the maturity level and critical reasoning, I saw him banging his helmet on sidelines, Traylor should be replaced if he doesn't want to help his coaches and players.

I agree 💯about the QB play, and after this game I’m afraid we are going to be in for a long season. Several times yesterday where Owen held the ball way too long on simple out passes. He’s been in the system for 2 years and played in enough games last year that he should be much better by now. I also think we have too much talent at the WR position for us not taking more shots down the field…

Traylor has a staff that is not cohesive, he needs to fix the coaches or replace them. The punting has not been great, hope they address that as well. At this point, the responsibility is the coaching, why they connect the dots. After game loss Traylor needs to make offensive and defensive coaches explain their downfall, put them on the spot to speak up. Can you bring in a data analysis as a guest to break down stats past games lost.

Before the game was played, I said UTSA had shown in previous years to try and field a defense and coach defense that would make stops. Since Texas State moved into the SBC have not seen any of that. Lots of offense and and abilities on special teams but defensively and prevent special teams play were lackluster or even worse not there at all in the previous 4-5 years before last season and even last season were questionable at best. So if Traylor and UTSA were as good as advertised and boasting from last season and going into this season, I thought UTSA would win this game by a field goal in double overtime or something. But I also thought and stated if my questions about UTSA are legit (and they were and still are) and if Texas State has made strides in the other phases of the game and kind of looked like they did, then UTSA could lose by 14-24 points if not careful. What hurts the AAC is that Tulsa lost, UAB lost badly. Tulane lost a heartbreaking game. Charlotte looked improved but still lost by a lot. FAU lost at home after nearly beating Michigan State the week before, and week before Rice got crushed by Sam Houston State. USF gave a great performance but lost. And the bright spots were Navy, Memphis, UNT, and ECU. I know Army beat FAU; but that actually hurts the conference not helps, considering how both schools played the week before and who they played and where they played. G5/6 Candidates for now to possibly make a 12-team playoff spot or two: 1. Memphis 2. Texas State 3. Liberty 4. NIU 5. JMU 6. CCU 7. Boise State 8. UNLV 9. Oregon State (sort of) 10. Washington State (sort of) 11. Bowling Green 12. UNT 13. Navy 14. Army 15. Miami-Ohio 16. Marshall From this list it seems to be balanced between the SBC and AAC with getting a team in, with the MAC not far behind. Either PAC-2 school could get it but would have to be 13-0 or 14-0 as one loss automatically eliminating them if both are not already ineligible to begin with because having fewer than 8 schools in their soon to be extinct conference lol.

I’d say the quote traylor mentioned about bright eyed and bushy tailed or something pretty much sums it up, I’d say yes there’s old faces on this team but a lot of new ones who just need that time to play and develop, I’m seeing good things on both sides just not what we were used to, this team reminds me of that first Jeff traylor team that didn’t have a crazy talent but they fought hard in the late season to almost go to a conference championship but the year later they improved so I still have a lot of hope

This was an awful showing for us… I am not on the Replace the OC Train 💯. I honestly thought we would bounce back really well from last week and we just looked flat out there. I was at the game live and we just looked flat. At one point I heard Justin Rodriguez was running the ball and thought to myself, why is he in the game? We have to go back to the drawing board. The punter definitely need to take a seat next game. So much to touch on… I just wish this was not the year TXST beat us … such a disappointment

I was at the first game. Both lines were so bad plus I think back field too small etc. I told everyone I knew they were going to lose and friends said I was clueless. They have bad offensive and defensive lines, back field looks too small and no individual play makers. The play calling last year was suspect I noticed then and is worse now. I hate they lost but loved being able to say told you they sucked as bad as I said after the first game embarrassment. They at least would have to have a play maker at QB to pull a few games out they shouldn’t. Not with this, they are due for certain losing season.
