The poverty rate in Argentina has fallen from 56% to 49%, and that was measured by the Argentine Catholic University who is opposite to the current government and if they say the poverty rate is 49 you gotta think that the real number is lower, salaries are gaining gradually purchasing power, some sectors of the Argentine society (leftists and the most empoverished people) wants magical solutions for problems caused by leftist politicians that they love, those very same politicians that destroyed the economy and at every election come up with the same old story, that they can fix all problems created by themselves and save Argentina from the "fascist right wing"

Buenos Aires is, by far, the best city in South America. I'm from Mexico but lived 4 years in BA, 2 in Santiago and 2 in Rio. BA cannot be compared to any other city from the region. Not all of the city is beautiful, of course, but it's the most similar place to Paris/Madrid you will ever see. Their neighborhoods (Recoleta, Retiro, Monserray, parts of Palermo) where you have French-style buildings and palaces in almost every corner. Evidently, Argentineans did things very well long ago and this inheritance remains.
Wow you are 100% right about all of the point. We agree totally. We also visited Mexico City and loved it too. We haven’t visited Chile yet, but really appreciate you sharing your experience with us. BA is at another level indeed. Thanks for watching our video.

Despite the friction about football or any other competition, the relation between Brazilians and Argentines has been always good. And related to tourism each country has what the other is missing. We Argentines enjoy their beaches and they our mountains and snow.
Exactly 👍
That’s what everyone tells us and it is indeed true. The nature and the snow that you find in Argentina, you won’t find it in Brazil.
welcome to Buenos Aires !!! to get a closer feel of the soul of Buenos Aires, I recommend walking all the way down Santa Fe Avenue, from Retiro to Palermo, because you'll find something remarkable on every corner. You can also walk all the way down Av de Mayo, Av Corrientes, Av del Libertador (an avenue that connects several neighborhoods, and even goes all the way to Tigre), Recoleta neighborhoods, all the variants of Palermo, Belgrano, Retiro, Puerto Madero (the newest neighborhood), Caballito (very especially). You can also cross to the northern area, San Isidro, Olivos, etc.
Thank you so much for these wonderful suggestions, we will definitely be exploring these neighborhoods during our stay here! Many more videos coming up.
Thanks again and please do keep in touch 😊

Food is more expensive than in Brazil, but you should keep in mind that Argentine products are of a higher quality and the average quality products are even better than those you would find in Brazil and other references. You should take this point into account because Argentine food is very tasty and it is due to the better quality and higher price to maintain that quality that distinguishes us among the different regional competitors and the top world references of world gastronomy. Argentina is at the top of the world in gastronomy.
Thanks for sharing your insights, we definitely noticed the quality of the food here!

Related to the complimentary services. There is a great difference between Argentina and other countries from the region. In most Latinamerican countries they expect you to ask for an extra or bargain the price.
Here is the opposite if you try that people will get offended. You have to wait for them to offer the extra.
Now we Uber it is easy for tourist, but in the older days, tourist should be aware of taxis, they sometimes over charge it if you are not local
You are absolutely right; we have definitely felt that they would like to offer things as an extra to make you happy with their service. We never asked for it, but in most places that we have visited so far, there is something extra that they offered us which is a very nice gesture 😊
Of course we love Brazil, nossos irmãos!
😊 yes this is another thing that I am noticing!
To be honest since we always hear about Argentinians and Brazilians talking about football, we think that there may be some friction between the people. However, the reality is exactly the opposite and I absolutely love the fact that both nations get along so well and have so much respect and admiration for each other.
Thanks for watching our video and for your kind comments.

Welcome to Buenos Aires. I suggest you visit Belgrano R neighbourhood. It arose from the settlement of English railway workers, a fact that was reflected in the buildings. With the subsequent urban progress, the exponents of the "Generation of 80", the Argentine ruling class, gradually settled; and houses and mansions were built in the most diverse styles (in contrast to other areas of the capital where French architecture predominates). It is, therefore, a neighborhood of low and expensive houses and its main streets are La Pampa, Melián and Forest Avenue.
Thanks for the amazing suggestion, we will definitely add it to our list of places to visit during our time here! 😊

Buenos Aires (and Argentina in general) is amazing for food lovers! Thanks to our strong Spanish and Italian heritage, we have incredible dishes like empanadas, milanesas, pizza, and of course, asado. 🇦🇷❤ Also, we love dogs here! It’s true, most people have at least one, so you’ll see them everywhere-on the streets, in parks, even at cafes. 🐕 It’s such a normal part of life for us that it’s surprising to hear it’s not as common in other cities!
Yes Buenos Aires is absolutely amazing 😊 we are having a blast here. Beautiful city, excellent food, and above all such friendly and warm people 🥰🥰

@@Coyote27981yes that’s absolutely true. Bienvenidos !!
Muchisimas gracias ☺️
I am from New York and have been visiting Buenos Aires on and off for almost the last twenty years mainly as a stopover on my way to fly fish in Patagonia. I was there just a few weeks ago. and was fortunate enough to dine with a new Argentine friend at a fabulous restaurant called Madre Rojas. Incredible. The last time I had been to Buenos Aires was in March 2020 just before the outbreak of the pandemic. The Argentinos are fantastic people. They are so friendly, so welcoming especially to non-Argentinos and English is in fact now spoken more widely. I was struck by the fact that Buenos Aires in December 2024 looks completely different than it did four years ago. The city is much, much cleaner. You don't see homeless everywhere anymore like you do in say San Francisco or Los Angeles. They seem to have removed all the graffiti from public buildings and other structures. The drivers are courteous. Honestly it feels much more like Madrid or Paris than is does South America. I don't know to what an extent things have actually improved and if they have whether or not that is as a result of the election of Mellei but overall I would say that the vibe at least in Buenos Aires has dramatically improved over just four years ago. It is without a doubt my favorite city in the world and I like the fact that unlike cities in Europe it is not swarming with gringos taking selfies and posting photos on Instragram.
Wow, you are absolutely 100% right. It's interesting it seems we are always here around the same time :)
We were in BA in January 2020 and saw exactly the same things that you had mentioned: lots of homeless people, the city looked like it was falling apart and the general mood and vibe that we got was of hopelessness and not a positive energy the among the locals even though we had a blast and felt really welcomed.
This time around, it is completely different and surprisingly for the better. Again as you had mentioned too from our experience in North America in the past 4-5 years everything has changed for the worse. However, it seems this is not the case here in Argentina and at least in Buenos Aires which is an extremely positive thing to see. These days in most places especially in the so called modern, western countries you only see everything getting worse, but from our experience of traveling in Latin America since 2021, living in Brazil for the past 2 years and now being in Argentina for a couple of months, we are extremely happy to see that at least in some countries things are indeed getting better.
Thanks for watching our video and we hope you enjoyed the content. All the best and please do keep in touch 😊

Additional info:
Argentina has the higher level of english in all Latin America by far; it's ranked as "mid-high level" or "high proficiency level" when all others in the region have medium or low proficiency; Argentina is even above of european countries like France, Spain, Italy, etcetera and is kind of equivalent to most western european countries, except for scandonavian, german or dutch peoples, which are "very hiigh proficiency level", only a step below native english speaking countries.
Yes we have noticed that lots of people speak English 😊

No notaste la cantidad de gym que hay en buenos aires? Por eso la mayoria de las personas estan en forma.
Yes you are absolutely right! Now after a few more days in the city we see so many gyms! Although, we had a lot of gyms in Canada too, but we also had so many extremely obese people there. So, we truly believe the quality of food in Argentina also makes a difference. In North America and especially in Canada nothing is fresh; meat, milk and other dairy products do not have any taste. So, it’s also the Argentinian food too 😉
Thanks for watching our video; please do keep in touch 👍
@@global_citizens One key is that not as many ultra-processed foods are consumed. One of the things I noticed most in the USA and Canada is the lack of flavor of most foods. Especially the coffee has a delicious smell but zero taste.
@@luiscarracedo7793 you are 100% right. I’m North America unfortunately everything is processed and packaged and you buy lots of food and keep it for months. So, nothing really has any taste. Here in Argentina everything is fresh with excellent quality and so tasty.

A suggestion i make to traveller's channels is that you could add some more to the whole experience by reacting to local culture, like music or even movies which is something you could do while you rest in your appartment or when wheather doesn't allows you to go out to film.
There are a lot of channels that only react to music from all around the world and a lot of other that show travels all around the world and it would be interesting that you, while visiting different places could get a deeper insight of the environment which is not the place itself or the people but the culture that shaped it all.
I hope that yoy can make some like this to receive and, at the same time, offer more knowledge about tje city or the country you visit.
Greetings
That will enrich your own experiencie as much as your viewer's ones
Personally I don't like react channels, everything looks forced and a little desperate, here they painted BA in an extremely positive light but it feels genuine, not forced or exaggerated

@ramiro041 Yes we always try to share our honest opinion about anywhere we visit. Yes there are always negative aspect in every single place, but when we visit a place like Buenos Aires that we only experience positive things and great interactions with people and the city is stunning, why shouldn’t we be honest and mention that it is a great place? In our experience so far, we are very happy to be here 😊

We are a Canadian couple, but I am originally Persian and Mariana is originally Brazilian
por esa razón la gente está afuera.... para fumar. la restricción está adentro.
Yes exactly 👍 That’s what we mentioned in the video too. What is different in Argentina compared to other countries we have visited or lived in is that in other countries even outside you cannot smoke if you are at a restaurant! This could be a positive thing for smokers because here in Argentina there seems to be a culture of acceptance which is greatly appreciated. The same culture of acceptance applies to dogs too and most places are very dog friendly. So the same way smokers who may not have dogs accept our dog, we also respect and accept the fact that people can smoke even though we are not smokers. This is what we absolutely love about Argentina 🇦🇷 People are so sweet to each other (and to us as foreigners) and due to this sort of acceptance, everyone gets along with each other.

14:17 argentine peso is unironically the most appreciated currency in the world in 2024.
1 USD was worth 1550 ARS a few months ago.
And now 1 USD is worth 1012 ARS. Both values from the "blue" market.
Luckily things are getting better for us, cause we were edging default and hyperinflation a year ago.
Yes are absolutely correct! We have noticed it too! Since we got here, everything we exchanged money, we get less peso for it 🤦🏻 which might not be good for us, but we are very happy for the locals because I really think Argentina has so much potential and deserves to have a much better economy and a stronger currency.
Thanks for watching our video and for leaving us your comments; it’s greatly appreciated 😊
All the best 👍
And brazilian Real went from about 5 to 1 in relation with US dollar to about 6 to 1, it lost 20% of it's value a couple months ago.
So, it's normal to "feel" that Argentina can be a little more expensive than Brazil now because of that; a year ago it was cheaper for brazilians to come to Argentina than for argentinians go to Brazil; now the stuation has shifted in favor of argentine currency and argentine tourists.
Have a great time in Argentina; you're the type of visitors that we enjoy to receive: respectful, open to interact with local people and enjoying not only places but also experiences.

Did you really noticed drivers to be better in Argentina? Personally I've made a trip to brasil and seemingly every time someone did something stupid on the road they had an Argentinian number plate, I don't think argentineans are terrible drivers but there is no pedestrian priority in this country, neither is there in Brazil
Hello 👋
Thank you for watching our video and for your comment. Well we have over 150 videos in our Brazil playlist since we went almost everywhere in Brazil and at least what we have since so far in Argentina and especially on the highway, we find that drivers are much less aggressive on the highway. In Buenos Aires, people somehow wait for the pedestrians especially at intersections with traffic lights. But, this could be only our experience and someone else might have a completely different experience. In this video we shared what we thought is the case so far for us.
All the best 👍
no ves homeless porque los cagaron a palos y los rajaron para la provincia de buenos aires. no es una mejora, es crueldad institucional.

Thanks for watching our video and for sharing your opinion! For us as tourists if we don’t need to always watch our back and removing homeless people increases the safety and security of the city, it is considered an improvement. Yes there is always much more that can be done, but we cannot have an opinion on that.
All the best
@@global_citizensactually the city government has established more places for homeless people to sleep and help them get jobs and a place to live. Besides that, the argentinian stadistic institute has said that homelessness has decreased significantly when compared to last year🙌
@biancab9852 yes this should absolutely make sense. We can definitely see a huge and positive difference between 2020 (and we were here in January 2020 so before COVID) and now in 2024. We truly believe it is indeed a great improvement especially if they have helped the homeless people improve their life conditions. Thanks for sharing your insights 🙏
All the best 😊👍
ruido ruido y mas ruido! such a noise
Thank you for watching our video!

Well we actually love this about BA. The same way we don’t have kids, but we respect people who have kids and we also like this great tolerance and acceptance that exists in BA.
Thanks for watching our video 😊
Nice Mina

This is our first video in Buenos Aires and that’s why it’s called “the first impressions”!!! I’m sure even after visiting other areas of Buenos Aires we will still be in love with the city!
Thanks for watching!
