- In this video, we show the neighbourhood of Palermo in Buenos Aires since this is the neighbourhood where we are staying during our visit of Buenos Aires. Since Palermo is a huge neighbourhood, it is divided into several subdivisions. So, in this video we mostly show you Palermo Chico. We start by showing you the famous medialunas that are very famous in Argentina and walking around our neighbourhood. Next we pass by one of the main avenues which is Avenida del Libertador before visiting the Japanese garden of Palermo. Next we passed by MALBA which is Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires and is located on another one of main avenues in Palermo called Alcorta. We continued walking on Alcorta and found ourselves next to a square that was a wonderful surprise to us called Plaza Irán which is right before the intersection between Alcorta and Sarmiento where you will find another wonderful square with a beautiful monument in the centre called Monumento a Urquiza. Next we visited the rose garden (Parque el Rosedal) which is inside another huge park called Parque Tres de Febrero. Lastly right next to the park, we visited a passage right next to the huge park which the structure under an overpass where the train passes, but under the overpass the structure has been converted into restaurants and bars which was a wonderful scene to see. The double bull headed column capital in Buenos Aires is a replica from the ones in Apadana Palace in Persepolis in times of Cyro the Great and it was a present from the last Persian Shah who visited Argentina with his wife Farah Diba and it was in honour of the Argentine-Persian friendship. By the way, in Canada Square in Buenos Aires there are two totem poles which were also a present given from the people of Canada to the people of Argentina, those are original totem poles from British Columbia

Ese "'arbol de trono raro" que les pareció muy antiguo es un Gomero. Los gomeros como los ombues son propios de la pampa y no son árboles. Jajaja! Son hierbas gigantes pues la pampa es una llanura herbácea. También son gomeros los de la Recoleta frente a la Basílica del Pilar. No sé si estuvieron por allí. Son enormes y todos creen que son árboles.

Todos los edificios qué ahora están la embajada eran las casas de familias adineradas de Argentina. Como el Palacio Paz con 140 habitaciones era de la familia de José C Paz, qué murió un año antes de terminar su construcción y la heredó su hija Actualmente se puede ir a comer o tomar algo. Es hermoso. Ahora pertenece al Circulo militar. Pero tiene restaurante y bar.

If You see equestrian monuments you can know how the person died from the position of the horse. If the 4 legs are on the floor the person died of old age, if 1 front leg is in the air the person was injured in battle but survived, if both front legs are in the air the person died in battle.

Recomendation: you should check out the neighborhood (actually Palermo Chico) framed by Av. Figueroa Alcorta, Ortiz de Ocampo, Juez Tedin and Tagle Streets. It,s One block away from MALBA. It,s a top noch hood with mansions and embassys, and curved streets. It looks like a gated comunity but It,s not. Congratulations for your job. Saludos cordiales, de un vecino de Alto Palermo. Avenida Libertador is like a Champs Elysees (the original concept) and “Monumento a los españoles” it is like the Arc of triumph…you missed the real “Palermo chico” neighborhood with superb buildings, Embassies, etc

Hello, I live a few blocks away from where you started the video and the area is not really “Palermo Chico” (probably misinformed by “optimistic” real estate agent ); that very unique and small neighbourhood is on the other side of Libertador avenue (the very wide one ). Hope you enjoy the parks.
