@@lalogemmic Well, he is right 'cause Buenos Aires is not Argentina and the porteños are not Argentineans. Those wankers should form a separate country with Uruguay, as Dorrego would have liked it. Greetings from Córdoba RA (RA= not Republica Argentina but Republica Aparte)
Hi guys, the "Choripan" isn't a version of "hot dog" in Argentina, the "panchos" is a "hot dog" in Argentina. The Choripan is an originary sandwich from Córdoba (Argentina). It then spread to the rest of the country. It is a traditional food.
I’m an Argentinian so always interested in seeing and hearing about experiences in my country. Have really been enjoying your excellent videos. I don’t know who does the editing but it is really top notch. Hope you will have time to see something else and not just Buenos Aires. I lived in Puerto Madryn, Patagonia and I would have recommended going there for whale watching but it is no longer the season and you have plenty in Australia. So, second choice would be Iguazú falls, be prepared to die of heat and get really wet if you take the boat excursion but this year has been exceptionally good with a lot of water coming over the falls. By the way loved your country, specially Tasmania where we rented a motor home. Cheers
Thanks so much for your compliments! We ran out of time in Argentina and missed so much, but it's our excuse to come back one day! We're actually renting a camper van and touring a bit of New Zealand next month!
I would say that with the Italian immigration ice cream has changed, but people were making some sort of ice cream in colonial times, before we were Argentina, as a teacher we ,teach the customs, food, clothing, etc. in colonial times, and that's how I learned that ice cream was made specially in winter time, if you didn't live in an area where there where snow, people used to put milk in zinc big jars and wrapped in leather soaked with nitrate or salt and they mounted these jars on horses, making them run back and forth. A certain distance at a certain speed, the salt allows the cold to pass into the milk that is being churned by the horse, obtaining a frozen foam, which is then sweetened with sugar and cinnamon, in summer. They tried to preserve ice in large pits in the ground, (just as centuries before Turks did in the sand).yep Turkish brought their idea of ice cream to spain and we all know that first to make some kind of ice cream were the Chinese, mixing milk with snow. The first actual italian gelato was made around 1608, with Vanilla and chocolate flavors
Hi there, a Buenos Aires foodie here. The choripan typically goes with salsa: the Chimichurri. There is always some sort of container with lots of it somewhere to throw your preferred amount in there. Hope you had the chance to taste that together. Also, the Fugazetta is not a focaccia, it's a pizza. If you find it different than any other pizza is because here we have our own interpretation of the Italian pizza, and 100% will prefer it over its origins. Ours really focuses on cheese and tends to, although depending on what you ask (pizza a la piedra, for example) be thicker than the Italian one. I hope you enjoyed your stay!
Argie here from BA. Great video but just so you guys know, you had the "standard" version of the food you chose. Of course no one expects you to know this much, but we have places offering far more elevated experiences with milanesa, choripán, fugazzetta and icecream. Maybe not so much steak, our meat is great pretty much everywhere. Next time you're here I'm sure you'll see these dishes in a new light if you dig deeper.
Hola. Abrazo fraternal.

I wish you try locals recommendations next time here, plenty of hidden gems in every neighbourhood. Also, you must try a full family asado, with achuras, vegetables and all, the cooker (asador) is kind of the host and he will take care your meat is in the right cooking stage of your preference, and so on with every guest. It trully is kind of a collective art. Next visit im sure many of us would love to share that experience. Dont forget to applaud the asador.

U should visit the "bodegones" !!! bodegon are basically a workers / mid class family / popular restos, not fancy more kimda classics with huuuge dishes an d cheap prices. try pasta, milanesas and asado there + empanadas, salads, flan and icecreams, well u´ll know =) have fun guys!
@@JordanandEmilythere are multiple in every neighborhood in Buenos Aires, just look up bodegón in gooogle maps and they will pop up. Try to avoid chains like la farola. You have to try an authentic milanesa napolitana from a bodegón, what you had was a kind of fast food one at club de la milanesa
There’s a lot of them. Just google it. There’re some of them with community tables. That means there are not individual tables just large ones and anyone can sit even if you don’t know them. It’s a way to interact and Cheer with people.
tomato sauce is usually put on the bottom of the ham in the milanesa, i don't know why the put it on top in the first restaurant. i am from argentina btw.

Fuganzeta is inspired by the common food of the Roman Empire, which was bread with cheese, onions and olives. So you can say that you ate like a Roman legionary.
Your breakfast is called coffee with milk with"half moon", these can be made with butter (like the one they served you) or with fat, which are thinner and crunchier.
I'm from Argentina and, indeed, the sauce on top of the cheese in that Milanesa Napolitana is strange haha, not what I'd do but surely it was nice anyway. In my experience the best Milanesas are found in obscure "bodegones"
i was shocked when i found out you guys don't have heladerias in your country. It's really good, isn't it? dulce de leche and tramontana are my fav flavors!
Milanesas are literally schnitzels, and Milanesa napolitana is basically dressing it like a pizza (traditionally with tomato slices over mozzarella cheese but today almost allways people would add ham like you saw). There is also another variant we call "Milanesa a caballo" (wich means "Milanesa on horseback"). Being "A caballo" means that its served with two fried eggs on top.
Going to Club de la Milanesa for a milanesa is like going to the US for a traditional diner burger at McDonald's. "El Antojo" is considered one of the best places here, other than that any bodegón should give you an above average experience.
Hello Jordan & Emily ! Welcome to the Argentina. I hope you like our customs and food hahahaha Thank you very much for spreading part of our culture. A big hug from Mar del Plata, Arg.

That ice cream ( helado Daniel ) is industrially made, not handmade, but it is one of the good industrial brands. You should try the artisan ice cream ( Helado artesanal ) , they are recognizable because in the window it has the seal of ARTESANAL ICE CREAM. About the meat or bistec, you can eat the best meat in any restaurant, it is not necessary to go to the most expensive restaurant like Don Julio or La Cabrera. You have to try the sandwiches de miga Ham and cheese, they are very special Argentinean sandwiches, you don't see them in other countries. Welcome to BA
Welcome to Argentina! You where actually a couple blocks from were i live ! That's Villa Urquiza! It's PARRISSHAAA, very agressive with the double R and the SH. It's like the pronunciation of "parish" but with and A at the begining and adding one at the end. Next time you should try milanesa from "El Antojo", in Villa Devoto. It's awarded with the best milanesa in Argentina. And try other Heladerias such as "Cadore". Daniel Helados is not that bad, but is like a Mc Donalds with Ice creams. Great video BTW. Please come back any time!
I'm glad you enjoyed the food of our country, there is a lot more but you taste all the important ones 👍. If you decide to try more you can search for "yerba mate" specifically "Canarias". There is also "alfajores" and "empanadas". One last thing, we always pronounce the final "a" in the words, and it always is pronunce æ, like cat. Happy travels 😁
In the milanesas, we put the sauce on top of the cheese, to prevent the sauce from coming into contact with the bread coating, it must be crispy. The cheese acts as an insulator, the texture is prioritized, not the visual. Otherwise the sauce would hydrate the bread coating, it would be creamy and not crunchy. In this case, the order of the factors alters the product. Greetings.
Milanesa with cheese is that we normally eat and yeah,NEVER FORGET the potato it´s classic haha, like Milanesa with popato but this time it would be Puré,i never heard that word in english i wouldn´t know how to pronounce that. Seeing your video i was wondering, can we get to heaven eating food? and then you mention it haha.
Hola Joran and Emily que hermosa sorpresa vinieron a visitar mi querido país Argentina, son geniales los quiero mucho me suscribí a su canal Jorda and Emily, besos y abrazos, saludos cordiales!❤🌷💐🌹👍🙏🤝
Thank you for having us in your beautiful country ❤️🇦🇷
U should visit the "bodegones" !!! bodegon are basically a workers / mid class family / popular restos, not fancy more kimda classics with huuuge dishes an d cheap prices. try pasta, milanesas and asado there + empanadas, salads, flan and icecreams, well u´ll know =) have fun guys!
Woah! That sounds EXACTLY like what we want! Are there many around? How do you identify them? 😄
Hello 👏👏 yes seemed odd to us too!
Saludos
😊 Thanks so much!!
You should try vacío and asado, and, my personal favourite, entraña
Thank you!
Amazing tour! imho the only reason why you guys didn’t go viral yet is bc you haven’t visited Brazil! It’s like a hidden gold mine for content creators. Your content is 👌🏻. U should def visit there. Amazing cities and beaches. Cheers!
Thank you so much! Thats super nice of you! Oh damn, we've already left the America's 😞 next time!!
Glad you are enjoying Argentinian🇦🇷 Gastronomy Delights. Please search for Belén Donnolly's "Asado Experience" which is like any Travelers' Culinary Must Do. Choripán is more like Italian Sausage on French Bread and Milanesas are Argentinized Italian Food Fare. Hope to see more of your Videos & wish you a Happy Journey in Argentina 🇦🇷
We love collecting recommendations like this! Thank you!
@@JordanandEmily You are welcome ❗ You'll find few TH-cam Videos if you search "Asado Experience Belēn Donnelly" & also search for Samuel & Audrey's Travel Guides ( from a Canadian & Argentinian Couple". The "🇺🇲Yanqui Argentino Dustin Luke" ( an American who speaks Argentinan🇦🇷 Spanish & accent" to where everyone believes He's Argentinian🇦🇷 👌 Shouldn't't leave without visiting Iguazú Falls; Usuahia; Bariliche; "Valle de Calamuchita" (Córdoba province)...etc , but you'll need a lot more Time
Fuganzeta is inspired by the common food of the Roman Empire, which was bread with cheese, onions and olives. So you can say that you ate like a Roman legionary.
All of that food looks amazing. I think my favourites would be the steak and the Helado
Goooood choices, both were chefs kiss
Your breakfast is called coffee with milk with"half moon", these can be made with butter (like the one they served you) or with fat, which are thinner and crunchier.
Ooo wouldn't mind thinner and crunching!
Thank you! ❤️🇦🇷
I'm from Argentina and, indeed, the sauce on top of the cheese in that Milanesa Napolitana is strange haha, not what I'd do but surely it was nice anyway. In my experience the best Milanesas are found in obscure "bodegones"
Was still pretty good!
100% this. Club de la Milanesa is good, don't get me wrong, but it's kind of... overrated. Bodegones and homemade milanesas can be ten times better.
i was shocked when i found out you guys don't have heladerias in your country. It's really good, isn't it? dulce de leche and tramontana are my fav flavors!
So good! Already miss it 🥲
Beautiful video! Bife de Chorizo is my favourite, if you ever return to BA; remember trying "Pippo" Restaurant (Montevideo y Corrientes). Thank you!
Thank you! I've added it to our list!
🙂 sounds great!
Helados Daniel… if you guys enjoyed that, you should try a proper, good, ice cream shop. Rapa Nui, for example.
😂
Milanesas are literally schnitzels, and Milanesa napolitana is basically dressing it like a pizza (traditionally with tomato slices over mozzarella cheese but today almost allways people would add ham like you saw).
There is also another variant we call "Milanesa a caballo" (wich means "Milanesa on horseback"). Being "A caballo" means that its served with two fried eggs on top.
Delicious
Argentine food is one of the best, excellent video ❤
You should come durante the fall/winter season, in order to taste "puchero" and a great variety of stews!!!
That sounds like a great idea! haha would love to try the food in every season!
Long live Australia, long live my Argentina and long live Daniel Ricciardo! Great video, hope you enjoyed our country!
hahaha we agree with everything you've said!
It seems so good people and food! Argentina looks awesome! I hope eat that delicius food some day.
Saludos desde Argentina
It’s beautiful and delicious!
Going to Club de la Milanesa for a milanesa is like going to the US for a traditional diner burger at McDonald's. "El Antojo" is considered one of the best places here, other than that any bodegón should give you an above average experience.
6:50 you can put the sauce yourself from the table
Perfect
We have the best of each European cucines, French, Spain, Italy. The perfect mixture 👌
Amazing!
Hello Jordan & Emily ! Welcome to the Argentina. I hope you like our customs and food hahahaha Thank you very much for spreading part of our culture. A big hug from Mar del Plata, Arg.
😊 thanks for watching!
Hola chicos.
BIENVENIDOS a ARGENTINA.
Aires.
Thank you for having us in your beautiful country! ❤️🇦🇷
@@JordanandEmily Gracias a ustedes.
Thanks so much for the tips! we really need to speak to a local before we start food tours 🤣
Try "Cadore", in Corrientes Av. w/ Rodriguez Peña
Cadore or Rapanui is the way to go for ice cream here 😊
Welcome to Argentina! You where actually a couple blocks from were i live ! That's Villa Urquiza! You should try next time another "Parrilla" 2 blocks away from Lo de Charly a place called "El Boliche de Nico", it's an amazing parrilla where you could eat Asado and it's waaay better. Have a nice stay!
Oh sounds good! Added to the list for when we (hopefully) return! ❤️
Great video, btw, I'm argentinian and this is the first time I see tomato sauce on top of the cheese, it usually goes the other way around just like you expected.
Good to know!
Hahahaha crazy
It's not right to make people desire! The food in this country is fabulous!
😄 delicious!
In fron of "Lo de Charly" is Cervecería Lopez. Every thing there is "Delicious". The Milanesa is GIGANTIC!!
You guys should try it
We wish we went there for more! Since this videos has come out everyone seems to be raving about it!
Rout of the 7 lakes looks incredible!
Please guys. go to El Antojo to eat a good milanesa.
Thanks for the recommendation! I wish we had these when we started the food tour!
Croissants or medialunas!?
Thanks for the rec!
Hii! I'm a resident of Buenos Aireees. I loved how you feel so satisfied for the food hahaha, I came because i love these type of videos but I didn't imagine that you guys had so much personality, I'm gonna to suscribe because your vibes are so pleasent! 💕🤧
(I must say that I am in love with ice cream. I celebrate even the smallest thing by ordering 3k of artisanal ice cream and that is a fortune but it makes me happy hahahaha. I think that if you return to Argentina you have to continue trying the most popular flavors, you won't regret it, I promisee)
Definitely! Sounds like we have quite a list to correct next time we are in town
Thank you! First person to agree with us that it is a good place!!
Thank you! We LOVED our time in Argentina!
Thank you! 😊
Nadie se queda con ambre buen provecho
maybe we don't have many original dishes, but we do perfect many dishes from other countries ☝😎
That's so true! Miss the food so much
Hey Aussie guys, I hope you're enjoying your stay in our country, I think you are!!! Also, try some "lomito" sandwiches and pastry in "panaderías", we have a wideee variety of it and it's very particular.
Thanks so much! We love food recomme dations haha
@@JordanandEmily Enjoy!
All that food (and the beer to be fair) looked SO good...but got to pull you Adelaide-ians up on one thing..
Its Parm-A ....repeat Parm-A . Best wishes from Parm-A loving Melbourne!
Hahaha we knew this comment was coming eventually! Agree to disagree 😉
Next trip you should try a home-made asado.
Ooooo yes, added to the list!
Great video guys just FYI. That bife de chorizo that cut here nyc would be 30-40$ depending where u go.
Phwwooarr!! Crazy prices!
Thank you! 😊
We got very confused with the pronunciation of the letter 'L' in words haha it seemed to change through South America! thanks for your comment!
Oh wow! thanks, good to know!
Greetings.
so true!
This comment has so many liked so it must be true. Hopefully other people see this comment and go there!
@@JordanandEmilyMar del Plata has great medialunas, churros and beer 😊
Milanesa with cheese is that we normally eat and yeah,NEVER FORGET the potato it´s classic haha, like Milanesa with popato but this time it would be Puré,i never heard that word in english i wouldn´t know how to pronounce that. Seeing your video i was wondering, can we get to heaven eating food? and then you mention it haha. I heard that in Spain they don´t do delivery of Ice Cream and in here it´s very normal, how strange is that,i wonder if you have Ice Cream delivery on USA.
So strange! I wish there was delivery of ice cream in Australia! haha
Emily, welcome back again to YOUR ARGENTINA! It’s not LIKE YOUR MORHER’S, IT’S ARGENTINA! We-are-asado, we-are-empanadas, we-are-choripan, we-are-the-best-pizza-in-the-world:FUGAZZETTA!!
Hahahaha 😆
You have to try Dulce de Leche granizado from Cadore, its a ice cream shop located in Av. Corrientes
Very interesting!
Im glad you tried and showed different places other than the regular and most known from other youtubers, club de la milanesa its a franchise but still good and very close to the traditional food we eat at home, but we do it with mashed potatoes. About Daniel's thats my favorite ice cream store!! Its just so good, welcome everyone to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Thanks so much! It's nice to see a Comment like this. Most people think every place we ate was bad 😄 but it all tasted so good!
I was waiting for the empanadas, did you had them? Great video thanks 🙏
We actually didn't haha, not in the video anyway!
