Creepy! I need to get the nerve up to make this for my front yard. I used to be a teacher and had a Halloween room every year. Made from recycled cardboard. My students would have loved this. That is, the braver ones.
Thank you and yes I can do a quick tutorial on the structure of the body. It's basically a simple 2x4 frame wrapped in chicken wire and the arms are pvc pipe.
So this was one of my earlier props, and I wasn't sure how the clay would hold up outdoor so I added the latex as an extra layer of protection. In hindsight now it wasn't really necessary
Okay, I missed a few things. How did you use the liquid latex? Was that paper clay that you used to build out the facial structure? It looked like you used acrylic paint. What did you seal it with to display outdoors? Thank you!!
Hey what's happening? Ok I used air dry clay and let it sit overnight to cure completely. Then I went ahead and brushed on a layer of liquid latex. Once that was dry I used baby powder to remove any tacky remnants from the latex. The paint I used was all acrylic craft paint. Off camera I sealed it with a satin outdoor polyurethane. Hope this helps. Happy haunting!!

What does the latex do? Add texture?
