After playing some of Innocence on my Vita, this is honestly not what I expected at all when I heard it was a remake of a DS game. This looks incredible, and I cannot believe it runs this smoothly on a DS! Incredibly impressive stuff, especially for me when most of my experience with 3D games on a DS comes from Kingdom Hearts and Golden Sun. This honestly looks almost on par with a 3DS game, and that’s saying a lot.
Innocence is one of my favorite tales games. The settings and music really cary it in my opinion. Though that could just be nostalgia talking since i played the game damn near 10 years ago. Man, the music from this game is really unique for a tales game. I know the composer’s different but even in innocence R (where Sakaraba remixed the Ost) the music still feels different from the other games. Nice video by the way, i just felt some kind of primal instinct to praise the music, don’t know why.
the reason for no localization of the DS version has to do with bad timing. it came out in December 2007, just before the financial crisis happened. And Bandai Namco got hit HARD, especially when they were just completing the merger of Bandai and Namco. It really shows in the rushed localization for Tales of Vesperia on Xbox 360. For Innocence R, it's because of being on the wrong system. the Vita was a flop outside Japan. They tried with Tales of Hearts R, but that sold pretty poorly on account of being a Gamestop exclusive.
Good video, interesting game. Side-topic, who's the character at 11:16? I don't remember seeing her in any of the Tales of games reviewed so far. Thanks!
Those are all OC from Tales of the World Radient Mythology. A spin off game in the PSP which mostly boild down to "lets explore a dungeo ln with Lloyd and Luke and my own character"
Probably my favorite Tales in terms of aesthetic. When i first saw Iria with the pistols and wild west like design and others like Sparda and Hermana, I knew i needed to play this one. Also dig the reincarnation story. Actually do have it patched and downloaded just need to find a better emulator. Also wanna play R really bad. Need some Q.Q in my life.
@@xenosanctum2531 dw, the remaster will still take some time to arrive for Xillia, so you will have your moment to gain some traction for your channel in 2025 most likely for it!
Im not super familiar with tales games but i tried playing this game with a translated ROM and I gave up after defeating the boss in the volcano after 3 tries and then immediately dying to random enemies. I really wanted to play the game blind but there are so many systems that(I assume) are explained in the manual I couldn't find a translated version of. I had 16 hours played.
Japan's Cero rating system goes from A,B,C,D to Z: A= all ages B = 12+ C = 15+ D = 17+ Z = 18+ restricted. Innocence was only released offically in Japan hence I have no PEGI or ESRB rating I can use.
This game would have had the perfect cast, if it wasn't for all the r*pe jokes. Especially Spada who is straight up a pervert. He tries sneaking into the women's room at night and also fantasizes about Ange being r*ped by Himmel's reincarnation. Really, really fucked up. There are more situations like these in the Vita version, which really soured the game.
I wonder if people in Japan knew when they played this game it would be one of the last times they would see a traditional world map in a game that wasn't retro pandering.
One of, not the exact final time. But since this game came out there hasn't been many JRPGs with a traditional world map that was advertised as a throwback.
@@dforthenunez7926 Yes I will be reviewing Hearts DS (Why did they kill the fan translation now I have to uses a guide). The only remakes I will be reveiwing in this series are Eternia PSP and Graces F becuse they are similar enough to the orignal releases.

I found it looked even prettier than FF3.

Apologize about the Magpie-lark outside my window during this recording, he really wanted to ruin my recording today.

I gave innocence R a try but it just wasn't for me, I need to try the ds version out and see if it clicks more than the remake on the vita

The game is very grindy, I was not helped byba glitch which limited me to a B grade in battle and hence limited my style points gaind.
@@xenosanctum2531 did you mess with strategies at all? I have no idea how anything in that menu actually works
Why the B Age Rating?
Japan's Cero rating system goes from A,B,C,D to Z:
A= all ages
B = 12+
C = 15+
D = 17+
Z = 18+ restricted.

What about Vesperia? I pesume you don't count Hearts or the Vita R remakes.

Are you doing tales of hearts DS version?
Also do you think shing is a much better name than kor?
