I'm loving this season! I love all of the conversations around faith, but it's also so important to take care of the body and mind God gave us. This episode is phenomenal!
Wow, I am so happy listening to this important subject in our Christian community. Thanks Candace for approaching this topic with kindness, knowledge and compassion. ❤
How am I just discovering your podcast???? I love your devo books and fashion line, but yay, this takes it to another level for me!! Thank you Jesus for this woman and friends of God!!
Discovering what you don't know is the good news you've been waiting for. You spot the gap and growth is basically recognizing areas where you can learn and improve.
Please pray for me sisters 😢I for so many years can’t remove this glutton way of eating. 🍽️ I have a problem because I try try try but go back to eating fun yummy BAD FOOD!!! ❤️🩹 It’s a CONSTANT FEELING. Thank you all ✝️
Love this everything you 3 ladies said is actually true it has all helped my life start a great journey!! Never want to be back where I was all thanks to Jesus ❤🙌🏼
Candace, I love your show for the content but I also just love to admire your style. You are such a beautiful woman and a class act!!! You and your guests as well are all perfect examples of dressing in feminine and flattering styles without being immodest ❤
Thank you for this Season. Our bodies are the temple of The Holy Spirit. When we eat unhealthy all the time, we get tired&irritated easily; which in turn has a negative outcome on your life&can influence us spiritually&mentally. For eg.too tired to have a quiet time/have self-control over your emotions, because you're tired). The balance 80-20 ; that's a wonderful way of looking at food! Because when you try to eat healthy&someone brings you down, for just enjoying some indulgence, once in a while; you feel bad about yourself - "failing your good habits altogether ". Thank you Mel&Mel; all that you have shared, makes so much sense now, when you look at skipping breakfast and your hormones, ect. That's why people started talking about being "hangry".😅
What a great podcast! So timely as I too have an autoimmune condition. Thank you Ladies for sharing your stories and I’m definitely going to check out your website!
This episode was so funny. I feel like yall were in my head because right before the episode, I ate a celebratory bowl of ice cream for making it through another week of caregiving and doing something brave this week in terms of my passion. I always have that guilt of indulgence; I struggle with emotional eating at times too. I love that you shared the points about your mental state and eating. I never thought about prayer or breathing as a calming practice before eating! Great episode! 😊❤
I haven’t really thought about questioning why I eat what I eat. So many reasons why one should eat certain foods because of how beneficial they are to our body. 💚💚
Thank you so much for sharing! I'm getting ready for the day, drying my hair, and I experience the exact pain that Melissa was describing. I'm looking forward to diving into a new journey for my health.
Oh, my gosh...there's SO much to celebrate and unpack from this fantastic episode...yet, first of all -- I just knew that it was SUCH a gift, so I watched it as soon as I saw it go live. : ) (That's rarely the case w/ my busy schedule!) And, yes, it was a huge gift. Secondly, I'd be curious to hear about what Mel (#1 or #2 -- I'm not sure, LOL), thinks about intermittent fasting. So, I got that having something in the AM is key for maintaining healthy blood sugar and hormonal levels througout the day. Noted and respected. Yet, if someone is taking a Shabbat/Sabbath day (and intentionally not doing much during it, like NOT working), then is it cool to have just liquids until 12 noon-ish? That's what my pre-menopausal, female body has told me. I take the Biblical notion seriously that only prayer and fasting delivers us from some, shall we say, things (inflammation being one of them?), and I've felt awesome when I only have water, tea and juice before noon. I sense that my body is releasing acidic waste matter during this time, and not just in the obvi way (yes, through a healthy bowl movement), but also releasing toxins into the bloodstream where they can be urinated out. I don't take in a lot of toxins, like I'm sober and so on, BUT we take in lots of environmental toxins these days; so, I figure that it can't hurt, and it can only help. I tried doing an all day fast once and almost fainted (literally), due to my petite body and high metabolism...so I've been scared to try a longer fast...so, multiple half day fasts make sense for me. Maybe this is something that I should submit in a private sesh; sorry, truly don't mean to take advantage. Yet, since we can, I just thought I would boldly submit some thoughts here. * Also, in a spirit of giving: Yes, Candace, Holy Spirit (unfortunately) doesn't always deliver pronto on giving us the gifts of the Holy Spirit; I wish!!! : ) Though one thing that Padre Pio, a saint of the holy, catholic and universal Church (with a capital "C"), said was, "Jesus, take the wheel." When he was having a challenge, he would hand over the keys. LOL Meaning, rather than asking for self-control, patience, kindness, etc. and having it magically bestowed on us in a moment's time (which can happen, yet doesn't always happen), we can surrender CONTROL itself to God/Jesus/Holy Spirit, and let the Divine take over. I know that that was a really LONG comment, yet I get super stoked when I intuit that I can reference spiritual concepts in a wellness framework. Thanks so much for the terrific episode, and have a wonderful day, ladies! Peace, Kat in NYC : )
Beautiful episode, I am definitely in need of some tips/tricks and adjustments. I will be purchasing the 7 day course. Thank you, beautiful ladies, for the special offer!
I grew up with this understanding about Joey being called 'Uncle Joey': My Uncle Warren is friendly, fun, rad, & cartoonish (cartoonish is a good thing), & I believe that was in culture at the time, so 'Uncle Joey' is a character thing, & Joey was like an Uncle, + Michelle actually called Joey 'Uncle Joey' in one of the early seasons. I let Dave Coulier know one time many years ago when he made a post on Facebook about Joey being called 'Uncle Joey', & I helped by telling him. & I'm doing the same thing here. 😁

"BTW, out of the gate you're going to disappoint me so let's just call it a day." 😂😂

As a believer in my Lord Jesus Christ, when I hear the word mindfulness my spirit cringes.
Mel I can sympathize with you. I have the same thing.
The Full House twins called him uncle Joey -I googled it 😜
❤❤❤
I think Candace would not be hurt by gaining some weight.
She looks healthy and beautiful
Candace looks so healthy and radiant. Commenting about her weight is not what this community is about.
