Daniel LaRusso‘s mostly at fault because he refused to leave the past where it was. Sensei John Kreese is partially at fault because he refused to leave Vietnam where it belongs. Carmen Diaz is partially at fault because of her unrealistic influence on Sensei John Lawrence. I hope Sensei John Lawrence realizes this in Season 3.
Kreese viewpoint is somewhat relevant in the school fight, all the CK members that lost delayed on finishing the enemy and it backfired.. tory with that little monologue of no mercy, miguel letting robbie get up, the guy that was friends with chris.. how he said you shoulda stayed in CK you coulda been a badass...

But in real streeta fights opponents are often armed with knives and guns, and you can't Cobra Kai against those. So either way, Kreese's teachings still fail.

He could also be referring to the state of mind, use Cobra Kai's ideals and apply them the real life scenarios like how Miguel applied Johnny's never accept defeat to asking out Sam.

I understand the statement very well hell Im actually one of those people. A lot school counselors thought I wouldn’t make it in high school because I had ADD. But let me tell you this I proved them wrong. But in the world their is such things as forgiveness, love and mercy. The world isn’t sunshine and rainbows yes but their is good in this world. But being merciless doesn’t make you weak or pathetic in crease’s mind he makes you stronger then the very bully that bullies the kid. Winning isn’t everything sometimes losing and actually help you grow as a person. It shows that in life we won’t always win but we do learn how to be better and how we can be winners in our own way.

Miyagi was in a war to. But he didnt become a angry old man bent on shaping a persons views to his means. He was passive, focused on the good, knew good and gave his students daniel and julie the EXACT advice they needed to hear that he knew would advance them. Life is harsh and cruel yes. But you take those cold hard facts, shape then into positivity lessons you filter out to someone who wants that answer that can both SOLVE and make you realize its exactly what you didnt know you needed. I like both kreese and miyagi badass teachers in their own right

Kreese has yet to learn that whenever he has tried to fight or act dirty (literally or figuratively), it has drastically backfired on him every time. Examples: 1) Forcing Bobby to put Daniel 'out of commission' in the 1984 tournament despite Bobby pleading he could beat him the right way. Then Daniel ends up winning it all anyway. 2) Threatening Mr. Miyagi shortly after the tournament when he intervened to stop him from strangling Johnny then ending up with two broken hands and an empty dojo. 3) Conspiring with Silver and Barnes to get Daniel into the next tournament with intimidation tactics in an effort to get Cobra Kai re-emerged but end up failing miserably. Eventually he's going to re-abdicate Cobra Kai again somehow and it seems like the only way for it to become permanent is by Daniel and Johnny working together.
showing mercy is right because remember in karate kid 2 when miyagi said ''someone with no forgiveness in heart may live in even worse punishment than death.'' that means if you show no mercy you will not live a good life. everyone will hate you will be in jail you will be lonely and no one will forgive you
And ultimately Miguel didn't got hurt gravely because of "Mercy". He was hurt because Robby had pent-up anger and made a grave mistake no different to how Miguel treated him the past seasons... Mercy here was never the problem, it was the toxic ideology of making everyone your enemy and not stopping to talk
The way that Tory nods confidently at Kreese when he says, "There are no losers in this dojo" sends shivers up my spine and the fact that the camera focuses in on her during that moment is definitely foreshadowing something deep. I'm convinced that Tory is a spy sent in by Kreese or that she's gonna end up being his right-hand man in this whole war. The idea of two evil people like that working together is freaky.

Daniel started the war and kreese isn’t one to back down. He didn’t start cobra Kai in the 70s to wage war did he. He started it to help kids and teens in the real world.

If he taught that as a life lesson I definitely agree, you need to knock your opponent down, to keep yourself safe. But this method doesn't apply in tournament when your opponent is as merely a competitor not an enemy.
Kreese is right IRL if it's worth putting someone on the floor make sure they can't or don't want to get up afterwards. Of course 9 times out of 10 better to just walk away.

Martin Kove can play two extremes of John Kreese well... in the 80s we had the John kreese that was outwardly reckless... and now we still have the same John kreese... reckless but his mellow soft face approach to the reckless is crazy... still makes him intense... plays both versions well... he’s in your face like in the 80s but his slow paced demeanor makes him even more intimidating
Kreese only cares for is himself. Honor vs Mercy its good to be both, But in the end of the moment you have the upper hand the right thing to do is have honor. Revenge creates a nasty mess for the one who craves it. Kreese will hit rock bottom even worst then 80s. I hope Johnny learns the truth art of martial arts. It’s about being relaxed while fighting vs being aggressive.
sorry but that's your opinion. Do you see fighters in boxing easing up when they've got their opponent hurt? no, they go in for the finish. The fight is over when one can't fight back anymore or if they both last till the end, then the judges decide.. You show mercy in a real life fight and give your enemy a chance to fight back, you can end up like Miguel. Fight smart, nice guys finish last.

All the more famous martial artists have even said that the best thing in a street fight etc., is to run away and only fight IF COMPLETELY NECESSARY. Bruce Lee among others said this. Also, the writers were on drugs in the last fight. The entire moment with Miguel showing mercy was so badly done. Especially since HE started the fight with Robby, and continued it several times.

Hopefully this leads to a Daniel-Johnny team-up....They’ve disagreed on almost everything since they’ve known each other but they both can agree that Kreese is scum. Both have made their mistakes but they did have good intentions in their own way. Kreese, on the other hand, is a monster who exploits thise around him. He’s just using those students to get back the only thing he really cares about which is his so-called Cobra Kai glory. Hopefully they can finally take him down once and for all.

I noticed something here and the scene in season 3 where hawk kicks the tree off the top, is that in that scene kreese eventually walks up to a couple cobras and they all either don’t make eye contact or break eye conteact with kresse, even hawk while only slightly, still breaks eye contact However, in this scene kreese walks right up to miguel, but miguel maintains eye contact, showing further that he is the new king cobra

When the German were fighting the New Zealanders in Crete, there were accounts them treating each other's wounds on the battlefield. They even joked with each other about who would drive the other into the sea.
Face Off different war. Creese was fighting Viet Cong insurgents who wore no uniforms, and blended in with civilians. He was also in Special Forces who often cannot take prisoners because of the nature of their mission.

John Kreese wasn’t right, Miguel attacked Robby first. Miguel made fun of Robby’s relationship with Sam and Johnny during the fight which angered Robby, you can’t give a weak apology at the last second and expect the fight to end.
If they just showed what Kreese had gone through, then maybe I’d have more respect for him. Cuz I can kinda tell that there’s PTSD he’s suffering from right now, but he needs to realize he’s home now, and these are just kids trying to better themselves. Now he’s gonna be making them assholes and criminals
Kreese escalated the situation which made it turn violent. He made a self fulfilling prophecy about an enemy you couldn't turn your back to because he created that enemy and situation. No mercy is not equivalent to keeping your guard up. And keeping your guard up only became truly necessary because Kreese made it that way. And Kreese's philosophy isn't good in the real world. People don't have the license to act like they are in war zone, because they are not. They exist in a time and place where seriously injuring or assaulting someone ruins your life.
I love Kreese. Back then in the 80's he seemed like a prick but as the world of us humans evolved as pussies It now shows Kreese really was right all along. I used to hate kreese, but with what happened to miguel and him always talking about vietman and not showing mercy, I feel like one of his friends was killed cause they was trying to show mercy and since then kreese knew better. It is true that we're shaped not only by our choices but also by our experiences, so Kreese does have that in his defense. But that doesn't make Kreese right. Life is about growth and learning, which is the only way to win at anything. Knowledge is true power, and Daniel Larusso, Johnny Lawrence and Mr Miyagi would all agree on that.

This really isn't Kreese's concept, he definitely would've picked it up if he did old school karate. It's found in Karate with the concept of _Ikken Hissatsu_ or basically "One hit, one kill" i.e. you hit your opponent hard enough so they don't get up. When Karate came to Japan from Okinawa, this idea came in to Karate from the sword fighting tradition of the samurai: you cut your opponent down when you hit them, because if you don't you might not get another chance and it's you who ends up dead.
This is why I would never show mercy again, Miguel showed mercy and almost died or is a cripple. That quick his life could be over. All because of mercy

Tori is wrong - she has beef with Sam, because she is rich, and she is jealous because she got the bad side of the draw, but has she ever heard her dad's story? Since Miagi passed, I would choose Kreese to teach and train me. People hate on him for his mistakes (like physical abuse at times)but if you look closer,he loves Johnny like a son. Watch it all again and see. He was always about Johnny winning it all. He had a hard life and it's hard to stop being hard when it's no longer time. Kreese is my favorite character tied with miagi

No, Johnny was right trying to change cobra Kai and better his students. Mercy isn’t weakness and Miguel and Johnny both didn’t trust or really want Kreese there. Johnny’s biggest mistake was trusting Kreese and trying to help Kreese better himself. Luck now Johnny has Eagle Fang and the Miyagi Dos to help him and hopefully Johnny and Daniel and Miguel can train and help all the students

What you can do is change and give others a better example. Teach your children so they teach their children and so on. If Sensei John Kreese’ students wanna blame Sensei John Lawrence for what Robby did to Miguel, they might wanna blame Carmen Diaz once they find out the influence she’s been having over him. Daniel LaRusso‘s mostly at fault because he refused to leave the past where it was. Sensei John Kreese is partially at fault because he refused to leave Vietnam where it belongs. Carmen Diaz is partially at fault because of her unrealistic influence on Sensei John Lawrence. I hope Sensei John Lawrence realizes this in Season 3.

Kreese has yet to learn that whenever he has tried to fight or act dirty (literally or figuratively), it has drastically backfired on him every time. Examples:
1) Forcing Bobby to put Daniel 'out of commission' in the 1984 tournament despite Bobby pleading he could beat him the right way. Then Daniel ends up winning it all anyway.
2) Threatening Mr. Miyagi shortly after the tournament when he intervened to stop him from strangling Johnny then ending up with two broken hands and an empty dojo.
3) Conspiring with Silver and Barnes to get Daniel into the next tournament with intimidation tactics in an effort to get Cobra Kai re-emerged but end up failing miserably.
Eventually he's going to re-abdicate Cobra Kai again somehow and it seems like the only way for it to become permanent is by Daniel and Johnny working together.
showing mercy is right because remember in karate kid 2 when miyagi said ''someone with no forgiveness in heart may live in even worse punishment than death.'' that means if you show no mercy you will not live a good life. everyone will hate you will be in jail you will be lonely and no one will forgive you
And ultimately Miguel didn't got hurt gravely because of "Mercy". He was hurt because Robby had pent-up anger and made a grave mistake no different to how Miguel treated him the past seasons... Martin Kove can play two extremes of John Kreese well... in the 80s we had the John kreese that was outwardly reckless... and now we still have the same John kreese... reckless but his mellow soft face approach to the reckless is crazy... still makes him intense... plays both versions well... he’s in your face like in the 80s but his slow paced demeanor makes him even more intimidating
Kreese only cares for is himself. Honor vs Mercy its good to be both, But in the end of the moment you have the upper hand the right thing to do is have honor. Revenge creates a nasty mess for the one who craves it. Kreese will hit rock bottom even worst then 80s. I hope Johnny learns the truth art of martial arts. It’s about being relaxed while fighting vs being aggressive.
sorry but that's your opinion. Do you see fighters in boxing easing up when they've got their opponent hurt? no, they go in for the finish. The fight is over when one can't fight back anymore or if they both last till the end, then the judges decide.. You show mercy in a real life fight and give your enemy a chance to fight back, you can end up like Miguel. Fight smart, nice guys finish last.

When the German were fighting the New Zealanders in Crete, there were accounts them treating each other's wounds on the battlefield. They even joked with each other about who would drive the other into the sea.

John Kreese wasn’t right, Miguel attacked Robby first. Miguel made fun of Robby’s relationship with Sam and Johnny during the fight which angered Robby, you can’t give a weak apology at the last second and expect the fight to end.

Kreese escalated the situation which made it turn violent. He made a self fulfilling prophecy about an enemy you couldn't turn your back to because he created that enemy and situation. No mercy is not equivalent to keeping your guard up. And keeping your guard up only became truly necessary because Kreese made it that way. And Kreese's philosophy isn't good in the real world. People don't have the license to act like they are in war zone, because they are not. They exist in a time and place where seriously injuring or assaulting someone ruins your life.
I love Kreese. Back then in the 80's he seemed like a prick but as the world of us humans evolved as pussies It now shows Kreese really was right all along. Not showing mercy leads to terrorist attacks. We don’t live in a perfect world, but that doesn’t mean we can’t strive to make one.

It is true that we're shaped not only by our choices but also by our experiences, so Kreese does have that in his defense. But that doesn't make Kreese right. Life is about growth and learning, which is the only way to win at anything. Knowledge is true power, and Daniel Larusso, Johnny Lawrence and Mr Miyagi would all agree on that.

This really isn't Kreese's concept, he definitely would've picked it up if he did old school karate. It's found in Karate with the concept of _Ikken Hissatsu_ or basically "One hit, one kill" i.e. you hit your opponent hard enough so they don't get up. When Karate came to Japan from Okinawa, this idea came in to Karate from the sword fighting tradition of the samurai: you cut your opponent down when you hit them, because if you don't you might not get another chance and it's you who ends up dead.

Geo Boy Yeah daniel didn’t have a rich background which is why he and his mother moved he had to work hard to get where he is at. Johnny not for nothing let his anger and frustration get the better of him resulting in him struggling to stay put and leaving his own son. No, Johnny was right trying to change cobra Kai and better his students. Mercy isn’t weakness and Miguel and Johnny both didn’t trust or really want Kreese there.
Johnny’s biggest mistake was trusting Kreese and trying to help Kreese better himself. Luck now Johnny has Eagle Fang and the Miyagi Dos to help him and hopefully Johnny and Daniel and Miguel can train and help all the students

"The world shows no mercy, so why should we?" Well, the only thing one can change is themselves. You can't be waiting your whole life for everyone else to change. What you can do is change and give others a better example. Teach your children so they teach their children and so on. It's not true that the world doesn't change, it does; but it takes too long compared to the average human lifespan that it feels like it never happens.
The world always changes for the worse not the better. The worst example you could ever set to children is to show mercy to a world which shows none.
