    • @Farengast
      @Farengast 3 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      They used to release unboxing vids before full review videos. Sure it was a way to double dip and get two videos instead of one, but at least they actually did reviews. I guess full reviews take too long and you can't make 17 videos a week so they just unbox a bunch of stuff and then cast it aside to unbox something else. 17 shallow videos a week isn't an accomplishment in my opinion.

    • @timfriday9106
      @timfriday9106 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@craiggerhardstein7305 Yeah, the 'second in charge' was the piece I didn't realize. I figured it was him and linus and maybe 1 or 2 other people that kind of 'ran' everything. I'm thinking making they should take their head shooter guy, and make it a 3 way, mind meld, and If i was linus, I would try to delegate a little more...esp of the business stuffs. Like maybe trust a few more of the day to day stuffs to other ppls and schedule briefings from them once a week, they can be phone calls while linus is commuting or whatever so he can at least step in once a week to fix/correct whatever, but so the schedule isn't filled with as many random "oh i have this meeting that doesn't have anything to do with filming"
      Also, like homeboy was saying about it being better to have a big stack of videos all waiting to be edited, I think they should either take some shooters/writers and have them shoot over the weekend. And have a Monday video ready to put out, before the weekend shooting takes place, And just plan for Monday videos to be the longer form vlog or special shoots that take longer, so that you can give yourself a buffer on mon/tuesday from ur prepared video, and the videos you shot over the weekend. And have a small set for a quick talking head vid if big news came out for linus or someone to address in a real quick shoot on a set already ready.
      Like James was saying, front loading the week with videos' makes the rest of the week go by so smooth, you should build front loading of the week into the schedule, so then if that doesn't happen for some reason, THEN the week becomes difficult, instead of every week being difficult unless you get lucky with a front loaded week.
      you can get ahead by banking 2-5 extra videos in one week. so do 20-23 videos, fully and completely done in one week by utilizing OT or taking some back end work off some ppls plates so they can bank the video time and catch up on the other stuff after. etc.
      Then, you can keep up the 17/week video pace, without as much of a headache knowing you're actually a day or 2 ahead of schedule, always. And then, you don't have to do that week of hell again unless you let that buffer of 5 video's decrease back down to nothing and every week becomes a struggle again.
      biggest thing tho...linus has too much business behind the scenes stuff and too much on camera stuffs to be doing both without both being sacrificed a little each way, which is just wasted money, money that could be used to hire someone to do the things that are splitting linus' time. Take some stuff off linus, and turn them into email/calls/updates and streamline some processes that tend to take up time or lag behind because of the time constraints, like it looked like linus' script reviews might be a little bit of a problem... I think if james proofed all the scripts, and did the script review with linus instead of the writer, then have james talk with them about linus' notes, that would probably go much faster, and James could fit in questions about scripts he was on the fence about while he's accosting linus throughout his day, instead of waiting for a specific time for him to be able to sit down and do the review. Then, hopefully in time james can read linus' mind well enough that he can 'approve' at least some scripts without linus and then that's ANOTHER thing off Linus' plate so he can do more meetings or more camera work or have a day that ends before like 10pm every night. lol
      and yeah....everything Linus does should have definite, hard outs. I think linus would actually REALLY benefit from a personal assistant/executive assistant etc. Like, the kind of assistant that picks up your drycleaning and makes appointments for you for dinner etc. so linus can literally just have 1 person he asks all his questions to, and that person figures out the answers or arranging other ppl to have time in the schedule to explain it etc. that why linus can just be ushered from one set to another from one appt to another without having to always be keeping track of it in his head or on his phone, etc. and so someone off camera can be like hey fucker, hurry up you only got 20 more mins or ur whole schedule gets fkd. lol

    Looks like the first monitor I've seen in recent times that actually checks off all of the boxes while not being more pricy than a TV that does the same exact things. It's still only 43 inches but I mean 43 inches is kind of stupid massive on most desktops I've seen. Also it being an LCD honestly helps me sleep a little bit better at night since it means you're not going to be burning in this screen because you left the taskbar on or your choice in wallpaper either as you sleep and forgot to turn off your PC. OLEDs look amazing, I know as I had one but they do burn-in and it mentally hurts when it happens to you.

    • @grrkaa8450
      @grrkaa8450 ปีที่แล้ว

      43" inches isn't that massive on a desk considering it actuall has a slightly smaller footprint than two 21,5" monitors

    • @88joshuajohnathan
      @88joshuajohnathan ปีที่แล้ว

      OLED tech has evolved a lot through the years, I’ve had OLEDs and used them for monitors and had no issues. IF you leave it on for like 72 hours yeah you might have an issue.

    • @Microwave414
      @Microwave414 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@88joshuajohnathan And I've seen people with QD-OLEDs with burn-in after 3 months. It's a risk and I'm pretty certain at this point now it's not going to be like a CRT where you don't actually have to think about it. If that was the case then manufactures would still not trying to squeeze out as much as possible out of an LCD display, they'd just make it for the cheapest TVs possible only and then make oleds for anything over a certain price point. I think micro-led which is still a ways off is what will kill lcds off completely since that's just none of the faults of oled and all the benefits. That's still years away though. Until then there is a choice people will need to make.

      On the other hand, there are people like me and some other people I've found on Reddit and hardware forums. I use an Acer G24 from 2007 as my main display still because it has a glossy finish and the colors look amazing. No gaming monitor since then has had such a nice glossy finish, and I've been looking forward to a return to the era of awesome glossy monitors. I can't afford an Apple pro display or I'd get that, but that's not high refresh rate. This particular Gigabyte monitor looks like one of the first I'm interested in, though it's a bit too big for my desk. I'd like a glossy display that's a nice 24" size with 16:10 aspect ratio like I'm used to, or even taller. 27" with a 3:2 aspect ratio would be great too, or even a curved ultrawide with multiple inputs for bezel-free side-by-side usage. It feels impossible to find exactly what I want, especially considering not only are glossy displays extremely rare nowadays, but even if displays are glossy, the product pages often don't list the type of finish, despite how much it matters.
