There are several aspects of this case I'm confused about. Why weren't the traffic cam images looked at after he left his apartment? Why didn't they investigate the last call from his phone that made him jump up and leave? Why didn't they check the car's GPS history? Why was it so difficult to crack into the phone? We have hackers who can get into major systems(MGM Grand) but y'all can't heck a cellphone🤔 I've noticed when it comes to Black people, the authorities are very quick to rule a "Suicide" when the evidence is obviously saying it is not.

Over 20yrs ago. I was able to call my cellphone provider and they sent me a copy of all the telephone numbers, date and times of these calls. So I'm not sure why they didn't ask the carrier for information

We don't pay them enough to give a care. Sad to say it but it's true. If they don't have enough money to use resources they will not follow up on dead end leads. If he body was in the Wilderness, his missing organs may have been the result of animals. However, if he smoked a joint, there is a very high chance that he had a very bad trip and ended up drowning. Someone could have found his car, wallet and phone as well. They didn’t mention who he spoke to before leaving school. The FBI sitting on his locked cellphone for over two years was absolutely ridiculous.

We need to look at the Facts closely - First thing he went to Illinois state which is in Normal Illinois he lives in Bloomington Illinois… (7mins apart) - had an allege meeting with a professor (dressed business casual while on campus) - has some kind of text exchange or email it was said he was on his phone he immediately leaves drives home. (7 minutes away) changes his clothes - Goes to Beyond Hello which is in Bloomington( something that's very disturbing to me was Jelani looking up at the camera.. - where is the rest of the parking lot footage it appears as though he walked there I didn't see a car can someone help me - car/body found in Peru an hour away (did he frequent Peru) - phone found months later in Bloomington - sold at Walmart - immediately the employee knows that it belongs to Jelani - we need mattress guy and Walmart employee we also need professor - it appear to be an smart phone where is the GPS no one's looked up the text messages/ emails. The phone didn't ping on towers after he was seen on camera no phone calls made after being seen on camera everything is time stamped.., or do we need to question the police did one of them do it
Someone is lying my son was murdered in 2018...and his phone was locked and they were able to both unlock it and pull up deleted items they called it dumping his phone. Then suddenly turns around to go buy a joint, goes home to change and head in a different location? This story is eerily connected to the professor. I believe that the only explanation is that his professor texted him to change his plans.. The professor probably texted Jelani to tell him to go home and change, that she was not in, and that she wanted him to meet her in Peru..Jelani couldn't just het to the university and leave without telling his professor. The professor is the CONNECTION HERE the only reason i can think of.. Both young men are graduates, their professors know them very well. They were healthy men with healthy organs..The professor needs to be investigated, the phone company needs to release the phone records of Jelani. They do that with or without a phone, the phone GPS can also tell Jelani's movements.. The investigators in this case are not trying to uncover the mystery of Jelani's case. His parents should hire a private investigator. They should not give up on this. And start by interviewing the Professor and getting phone records of this professor too.

I live in San Jose CA and I'll tell you the SJPD is lazy. They don't like to do work.
We don't pay them enough to give a care. Sad to say it but it's true. If they don't have enough money to use resources they will not follow up on dead end leads. One thing they made clear was every lead they did get didn't lead them no where else. I agree that they need to really dig deep to find out even with the Yohanes case they did little too nothing and that young man worked for Netflix, had documents in his vehicle at the time but just randomly decides to commit suicide. Naw I knew with his case something was off. It's either a serious cover up going on or they really don't care or both🤷🏽♀️😖🥺

The way that cell phone was handled is incredibly suspicious! Why was it so difficult to access a locked phone??
He could have used an app that erases its messages.

Seems as if he was going to meet someone for a rendezvous but was lured there and met his fate! What a horrible way to go! I would look at the possibility of an illicit affair with a person whose family may be tied to law enforcement! There, one will find the answer!

What bugs me is how quickly the cops were to call it a suicide or accidental drowning. Theres no way he would have killed himself because he was the only one who could save his dad. This is a very unfair headline and reporting of Jelani's story. The police were actually no help whatsoever until the family did most of the work themselves. The police did not find Jelani's car the family found it. This is really disgusting how it's being twisted to make the police look heroic in this case when they totally dismissed his mom and dropped the ball severely.
Many people believe there was foul play and suspect that someone from the department knows exactly what happened. Sounds like a cover-up if you know the real story. His organs were missing!

If he body was in the Wilderness, his missing organs may have been the result of animals. However, if he smoked a joint, there is a very high chance that he had a very bad trip and ended up drowning. Someone could have found his car, wallet and phone as well. They didn’t mention who he spoke to before leaving school. The FBI sitting on his locked cellphone for over two years was absolutely ridiculous.

I caught him off guard so he couldn't get a weapon, I dragged him to the door and unlocked it, I screamed HELP ME and it spooked him so he pushed me out of his apartment and I took off running. My regret is not informing the police about what happened.

- Goes to Beyond Hello which is in Bloomington( something that's very disturbing to me was Jelani looking up at the camera..
- where is the rest of the parking lot footage it appears as though he walked there I didn't see a car can someone help me
- car/body found in Peru an hour away (did he frequent Peru)
- phone found months later in Bloomington
- sold at Walmart
- immediately the employee knows that it belongs to Jelani
- we need mattress guy and Walmart employee we also need professor

Someone is lying my son was murdered in 2018...and his phone was locked and they were able to both unlock it and pull up deleted items they called it dumping his phone. Also how can you sell a locked phone and how could walmart randomly find out it was his phone?? I think the mattress guy had the phone the whole time

Jelani May went to meet his professor, all of a sudden he changes his mind after getting to the university? Then suddenly turns around to go buy a joint, goes home to change and head in a different location? This story is eerily connected to the professor. I believe that the only explanation is that his professor texted him to change his plans.. The professor probably texted Jelani to tell him to go home and change, that she was not in, and that she wanted him to meet her in Peru..Jelani couldn't just het to the university and leave without telling his professor. The professor is the CONNECTION HERE the only reason i can think of.. Both young men are graduates, their professors know them very well. They were healthy men with healthy organs..The professor needs to be investigated, the phone company needs to release the phone records of Jelani. They do that with or without a phone, the phone GPS can also tell Jelani's movements.. The investigators in this case are not trying to uncover the mystery of Jelani's case. His parents should hire a private investigator. They should not give up on this. And start by interviewing the Professor and getting phone records of this professor too.

Maybe if she had taken her son's repeated phone calls that day, she would have known what was bothering him. In recorded interviews she stated that Jelani would call her up to 20 times each day and she would always answer. The day of his disappearance, she refused to take his calls because "she was packing for a trip". Did Jelani leave messages for her? Something is off about this.

Man I promise due to fact that he was suppose to give his father a organ before his father past. I imagine he had to do a medical process to become aware that he was able to go with transplant. All cell service providers have a legal department where they can use special software to pull your cell phone records irregardless if they can get into your phone or not. Those records are then provided to the FBI, which I'm sure they have...
There is utterly no evidence he was gay or his organs were harvested. The thing I see is that this kid was very respondsible and I don't think he would miss this meeting without even canceling it and have to explain it to family and teacher. There are so many unanswered questions in both but more so Jehlani bc I know way more abt his case. Were the text messages deleted from his phone? Who he last spoke to would tell alot bc he clearly was going to have chill session with someone. And even if deleted aren't their extra steps one can take to retrieve that info. If he had harmed someone in Peru and was a suspect I guarantee that phone could have been analyzed thoroughly in alot less than a 2 yr time period

about jelani, what was the reason for meeting with his professor? did he feel like his future was in jeopardy? was he under a lot of pressure? ppl never wanna accept suicide happens. my friend died by suicide by walking into a river. some people are just fed up with life and can’t take it anymore. i get it and i feel so so much for victims of suicide. for one to reach the point of taking one’s own life, you know things are bad and have probably been bad for a while
