I used to run the shims in mine worked great trail riding but underload it would work like shit never fully understood why or how. Took the shims out and its like a whole different bike underload. plus for the slightest bit of low end you lose without them its really not that noticeable. Get your primary sheave machined its way better and you keep your top end.
Hey bud, love your videos. Quick question, what do you like better for trail riding, big hill climbs, water crossing, alittle mud, reliability, fuel consumption. The 500 or the 750? I'm gonna keep the machine I buy stock other then putting on some more aggressive tires. I'm just having a hard time deciding on which one to get. They both seem like great machines. I ride a 2003 honda foreman 450ES right now which I love. The thing does everything I want it to and you just can't kill the thing. But I'm looking at upgrading to a kingquad in the future. Your advise would be greatly appreciated 👍🏻
I love mine with the shims , i have 18 gram rollers with 1.5 shim , I felt like the 1mm shim was probably the perfect combo , with 1.5 it spins so much it’s hard to wheelie , but if you get on the pavement it stands straight up without trying
I can still wheelie good but it looses so much traction it needs a little weight to help it out , now if you put it into 4x4 it’s super fast in high gear
I can't get my 2022 to wheely at all. Shim, No Shim. I put heavy 26x9x12 duro powermax front and 26x12x12 rear. They are a total of 50 lbs heavier then the factory tires.. And I have a 3500lbs champion winch. Rear Box with 2gal gas can on the back. Still no Wheelie! My first trip out I had 72MPH Top speed. Now I'm down to 58MPH max and I haven't hit the rev limiter.
I tried to put 18 gram rollers in my 2020 kq 500 and they didn’t work , would u know why. Do u think they could’ve been too light rollers , it’s like when I installed them it would bog the belt down and make the wheeler die
@@banshee100 I don’t understand because I took the bell box apart and put the stock rollers back in the clutch the same way I took it out and put it back in there exact same way , it would run great with the stovk rollers in it but it wouldn’t run good with the lighter rollers
Wondering what the difference would be with 16 gram rollers and no shim? Or is 16 too light for the 722cc motor/clutch?
