Suzuki has amazing reliability on my experience. I bought my Suzuki Vinson new and beat it hard for 13 years and it just took it. I finally had a $300 4wd shift actuator go out but that is the only thing in 13 years of thrashing it besides common wear items like brake pads and wheel bearings. I will be buying another Suzuki.

I’ve always been a Suzuki fan. Bought a 2000 Suzuki King Quad 300 new back in ‘99. I still have it and it still runs like a champ with no engine or transmission issues. I’ve currently got 14,600 Km (9062 Mi) on her and still going strong. I finally upgraded to 2019 Suzuki King Quad 750 SE+ (Bronze) in May of 2020. Currently have just over a 1000 Km (621 Mi) on her and loving it. Was going to sell my 300 KQ, but I couldn’t find it within myself to part ways with it.

We bought a CFMoto CForce 800 last year, a brand new 2021 model. It has so far been flawless. We took the chance on it because we wanted a dedicated 2-up machine and the Arctic Cat and Can Ams that offer a 2 passenger design were both nearly double what we paid. Seeing how, as you mentioned, neither of those brands have top notch reliability reputations, i figured if it only lasted half as long as either of those I still didn’t lose money since I paid half as much. 🤔 We don’t abuse it, but we have certainly used it. It’s pulled trailers on the farm, and even towed a farm truck home when it broke down. It’s been solid so far.

@@Hastambre yes it is. In fact we have over 100 hours run time on it now. Still absolutely zero issues so far. We pull trailers and check fences on the farm almost daily with it. I plan to adjust the valves soon, they have begun to rattle a bit but it stills runs fine. Valve adjustment is supposed to be at 80 hours according to the manual so thats normal. We received a recall for the power steering but havent taken it in yet, because we havent had any issue with it so it just hasn't been a priority honestly. I do all the service on it myself, and we havent done anything but oil changes, filter changes, and grease. Drive belt is still factory and we pull some heavy trailers loaded with feed, fence posts, etc.

I had my CFMoto for almost 3 years now and have drove more than 5500 km on it with no major issues in really rough terrain. CFMoto is really popular in Europe where we doesn't feel the need to buy expensive well known brands.
CFMoto have been #1 most sold in Sweden for years, and among the most selling in Scandinavia generally. And you can't beat the price, since you get so much value for the money with modern look.
CFMoto use CVTech clutch (that many other switch to) and the engine is used in many KTM bikes.
I also really like Yamaha and Can-Am, but the price for Can-Am is too much since you doesn't get anything extra as stock like you do on CFMoto.

I've personally held them at wide open throttle doing donuts until they ran out of gas. The A arm bracket on the rancher broke off once after a crash. I welded it back on and kept going. They're slow and don't make much power, but I can't kill them. I can walk out there after they've sat for a year, pull the cord twice and they'll start with a dead battery. Never even had to rebuild a carb. Just brakes and oil changes. Two 21 year old quads that just keep going. Honda has sold me on their four wheelers for life.

Good comparison. I had 4 Honda's over 15 years(70,110, trx350, 350 rancher), then went 3 Suzuki's (Vinson, 700,750 king) in a row over 10 yrs, then went with a can am 1000 and have been happy with it the last 9 years. The can am does not have the fit and finish and refinement of the Japanese quads, but the power, comfort and features have never left me needing to modify the machine like I had to with all the others. I was forever modifying the Japanese quads to try compete in the mud, water, or on the trail. And they pretty much had half the HP as the can am, so they were reliable. That being said, I haven't broke an axle or burned a belt in 5000km in the can am.

If it ain't broke - don't fix it. Many people will complain about lack of innovation in recent years from Japan, but they have pretty much reached the pinnacle of innovation already. I bought a new King Quad 700 back in 2005 when they first came out and it was by far the best ATV I have ever ridden. I now have an Arctic Cat 1000 XT, and while it is a powerful monster that rides extremely smooth, it just isn't in the same league of quality and features that the big Suzook.

I have a couple of '85 Big Reds and an '85 350X still rolling strong, but now I'm in my late 50's. I decided to get a good IRS quad to be easier on my old spine. Honda reliability is unmatched, in my experience, so I went for a 520 Rubicon. It's like riding a cloud, and I have no worries about getting stranded out on the trail.

    • @jameshanna8762
      @jameshanna8762 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@deeeeeeps I think one of the main reasons Hondas may last so long is that they don't put big powerful engines in them. The engines seem sized right to have enough power, but not so much horsepower that they tear the machines apart over time.
Adding horsepower is a losing game. It adds more heat, more stress, requiring more cooling, heavier frame, more fuel consumption... which calls for more horsepower to compensate. It's a loop. Honda seems to have found a practical balance for the ATVs. They make bigger engines (700 and 1000) for the Pioneers, so they have the ability to make quads with those engines. I think they don't go that route, because they want to preserve their hard won reputation for reliability and longevity.

I'm so far out of the loop on ATVs--- When I was young, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha was it and nothing they made was junk. I don't remember anyone actually working on a mechanical failure of one of those machines. Swamp one? Drain the oil, flush it, and fill it back up. About the time I got out of ATVs was when the CVT's were getting popular. All of a sudden ATV mechanics popped up everywhere... If they weren't cheaper the manufacturers would not be using them. It's the same reason analog gauges are no longer found on cars-- it's cheaper to make a flashy digital display than a gauge that will never fail. And the consumer thinks they have something really cool. Glad to see Honda and Suzuki still make gear driven machines. Forgive me if I missed someone else who does still, too.

It is something similar to CFmoto, as in it is Chinese but seems like an actually decent brand. So far so good, though havent ridden it that much since I bought it a few months ago and it is still kinda cold so I rarely drive. If you have the money, the Japanese brands are surely a good bet.

Let’s shed some light on cf moto as a atv tour company owner. I started with cf moto I had a a few 600 touring 2022 and a few 400’s 2022 my 600 got to 230 hours on them a piece and only had to send one in for a wire harness and it was warrantied. Motors are bullet proof and trans are good too. Only problem is the plastic arent the best and they fade pretty quickly so no shinyness ( fixed with sc1). The only issue I had with a 400 is the 4 wd going out but popped in a new fuse and it was perfectly fine. So yes I do recommend cf moto for the weekend warrior, but anything more stay away.

My experience basically agrees with your list. I have two 2006 Suzuki King Quad 700s. Other than having to keep a battery maintainer on them, they have never had a single problem, 15 years later! I work them pretty hard, too, hauling trailers of firewood up a mountain. That's pretty damn good.
My two Can-Am Outlander 570s (one 2018, one 2019) have been nothing but problematic. Weird sounds coming from the transmissions, overly-aggressive engine braking on one, transmission disengaging when pulling a trailer down a hill, both machines' seats getting torn within months (note, the Suzuki seats are still perfect), and on and on... I sold one and I'll probably soon sell the other. Never buying another Can-Am.

Throttle sensor malfunction after the first use. You all are making my decision a bit easier with the cfmoto. I'm looking for a utility ATV for around the yard stuff (I have a 7 acre yard) and dragging trees to the burn pile is getting harder to do every year. I've been using my kubota zero turn with a bucket on the hitch for 8 years but it's not meant for real off road areas. I have a decent marsh area that I occasionally get stuck and an atv like the cfmoto 600 appears to be a viable option. I did look at the Polaris and thought that it was the better machine...until I started to research. I also looked at the Can-Am. Considering what the cfmoto offers and the sum of its parts are very good on paper, with the added hitch, I'm probably going to go with the cfmoto.

    • @DirtObseXXion

More and more people are switching, and it's mainly due to the prices of the major manufacturers.. Polaris used to be cheaper than everything else which made it easier to stomach the fact that their build quality wasn't as good.. Now they're leading the way in price

I know I’m late to the party on this review but I had to comment on it. First, the review was great. It was honest and informative, something you don’t see on reviews that often. I bought a 2021 Can Am 570 Outlander last year. I initially was looking at the Honda for all the reasons listed in this review. To back that up my friend owns a surveying company and they use Honda’s in the field and they have held up very well. I decided on the Can Am for a few reasons. First, the motor is its strongest point. I wanted the V-twin because of the horse power it put out. At 48 for a 570 it is exceptional. Also the v-twin is a smoother running motor and doesn’t have to work as hard to get you there.
I’m not hard on my machine. I use it for hunting, fishing, trail riding and working on the property. So I expect it to have a long life and give me a lot of enjoyment.

The thing about reliability in atv’s that no one ever mentions is the brand’s customer bases. This is a major factor in the reputations in my opinion, for example the typical Honda owner is older don’t abuse there machines and are religious about maintenance. Where as the typical Polaris owner is younger does no maintenance and ride the piss out of the machine.
