As a long-time Corvette hater, the better entry-level supercar is the Corvette Eray at half the price in USD or even the Z06 for the visceral thrill of a supercar. What GM has done with the C8 is impressive; I used to consider corvettes to be the midlife crisis mobile, but now they are actual performance supercars for half the price. Almost makes it worth the GM bailout...almost...
Yeah I have found myself recently struggling to understand why someone would pay 100,000 more for a car when the c8 corvette looks great and drives great.
Needs a P1 style spoiler or something IMO. Entry price point isn't bad, but I think if they had gone a bit cheaper they really could have captured some of that 911 market as a well equipped 911 GTS is still much cheaper and a 911 Turbo has a cheaper base also.
More nonsense from another non-McLaren owner lol. I've launched my 11 year old 12c 100s of times, raced it at 1/4 tracks, beat on it for hours on Rallies, with zero engine or trans issues. Sitting at 21,000 original miles on the original motor and trans. My only failure was a $500 APMU hydraulic pump which is rare, less than 20 have failed.@@Cocky.Rooster
This thing is almost perfect. I wouldn't mind a world where all supercars were PHEVs and had at least a 200hp electric motor with 40 miles of range. Like they said, the electric motor fills out the torque curve nicely.
A bit off topic but a friend has a Novitec "Tall Driver" conversion and exhaust on his Ferrari 360. It's a new interior/seats/dash/steering wheel so a very tall driver will fit. Unlike those with stock interior his still looks new. And his exhaust manifold hasn't cracked and nothing has rotted out. Very very high quality. Much better than stock.

Thanks for the review. As a current McLaren 570GT owner, this would be my future upgrade after the first owners take the depreciation hit and they sort out the reliability bugs. I also own a modified BMW i8, so this car is up my alley and in my future. It’s hard to ditch a twin turbo V8 for a V6, but the hybrid’s instant torque more than makes up for it. I just wish it looked as good as the 570 and not so much like a Lotus Emira which I think looks a little bit nicer.
