Out of everyone in that whole situation Omega seems the most level headed. Its the Bucks that have acted like children over it. Theyve been riding his coattails since New Japan. Hopfully he cuts the dead weight.
Omega is starting to show that he did want to work with Punk because it was good for the business. Hell, he even took shots at Metlzer's star ratings, including the fact Angle has no 5-star matches.

Kenny always had the god given smoothness in the ring, his athleticism is out of this world and timing is out of this world, but he often gave in to his worst instincts to do stupid cringe stuff in the ring and surrounded himself with bottom of the barrel jokes like the young bucks that ultimately left a stain on what could've been if he went solo. His best match to date was against Bryan Danielson on AEW, that match still felt somewhat fresh even though it was years ago

Just listening to Omega, no way he went into that locker room expecting a fight. IDK how the Bucks dragged him along but I'm willing to bet he had no idea the Bucks were gonna come in hot.
He heard and saw how hot they were and followed hoping to cool things down. Then the door opened quickly, Punk saw angry faces and angry gestures, after challenging a fight in the scrum, so Punk assumed they came to fight, as most people should, and he defended himself. At that point Kenny made the correct decision to protect the most defensless being in the room.
Yeh I can believe that, but it also shows how naive and not smart to the business and how men are in general he is. How would any man think another man would react to being confronted and surrounded by a group of guys he’s just called out. These guys really are video game nerds who’ve never been in a real situation in their lives.
Or maybe they were spoiling for problems and Kenny was trying to talk them down along the way? I could see it go either way.
He probably was wanting to be peacemaker but as he stated all he cared about was the dog.

One thing Jim and Brain need to keep in mind is that this wasn't an interview or a sit down. Kenny was answering a question from a viewer which is how twitch works. The streamer plays and sometimes they let loose with an opinion.
Which also tells us that his commentary is likely genuine.

I still hate Kenny Omega's character and in-ring style, but since he's been out of AEW and the Bucks influence he's been speaking a lot of facts. I've gained a measure of respect for him because of this. He's praised Cena, Angle, and Roman are some of the best WRESTLERS of all time. He's shit on Meltzer star ratings. Now he's even showing because Punk he was the only adult in all of this. He and the Bucks shouldn't be EVPs, it's also clear he was willing to work with Punk because it was best for business, a pity the rest of the douchebags couldn't. It's also showing he might even be willing to go to WWE.
You can tell Uncle Dave has a new favourite toy to fawn over in Ostrich and has cast away the old broken down toy in Kenny. Wouldn't be surprised if The Bucks and Kenny became distant because they felt betrayed that he wouldn't join in with their childish personal beef against Punk.
Roman is really good and the best thing about his story is that we all got to see it happen as he developed his skill set

absolutely. all he needs is the right trainning and guidance. he sounds way more reasonable than the bucks, so if he would listen, as i think he has it in him To listen, he could maybe become something there.
I think it would be what makes his career last longer for his healths sake. None of the AEW faithful are gonna be satisfied with Kenny changing his style to be safer, and WWE makes stars without needing them to eviscerate themselves.
And now WWE has more than enough main event talent that doesn’t work a trampoline style that could keep Kenny in check, just in case old habits show up.

Omega has always been a great professional wrestler when he’s focused on the task at hand and not doing weird shit. Super athletic, great dramatic move set. Strong as an ox.
Jim’s had a autistic hate boner for him since Omega no showed him that time in ROH which is fair enough but it’s definitely clouded his judgement on him.

Now, Vince would have ruined him in 2019. Now, with Triple H fully in charge of creative, he definitely would showcase and presented Kenny better with some freedom in promo.
You know, I've never really thought about it, but Kenny never has done much backstage drama or stupidity in his time in AEW (other than forcing Riho upon is which is pretty bad). He has mostly been that dude who tags along with the Bucks.
Imagine the plot twist that it was Tony Khan all along forcing Riho on us and Kenny was just “ oh yeah I know Riho, want me to call her?”
@@75skyloftmexican I coud see it, Kenny was given the title of head of womens division, head of game development but what if it was like Bryan Danielson with head of the totally real committee where it was a way for Tony to blame his bad calls on someone likeable. Kenny was liked by a lot of fans for his NJPW work, especially that last year with Okada and worthy followup to AJ vs Nakamura the year before.
Kenny's best matches and work on the mic are outside AEW and away from the Bucks.

I’ve always liked Kenny. Weird guy but a mostly a class act!
Hes even cooler in person. Met him at a show some years ago. When he takes wrestling seriously, he is an incredible athlete. In his prime he wasnt often comedic or ridiculous, just his facials were kinda goofy and he was slightly theatrical in his dives. But he is genuinely amazing in the ring

So to summarize what Kenny said:
1. He has no power as an EVP and essentially holds the title as a figurehead.
2. He does not have an issue with fights occurring in wrestling locker rooms in the right circumstances.
3. He does not agree with how the Bucks and Tony Khan handled the fallout of the fight at All Out 2022, nor the airing of the backstage footage from All In at Wembley in 2023.
4. He believes he and Punk are still amicable, and that there was a secondary factor to that situation which caused most of the tension.
My evaluation is this: Kenny could very well be masterfully working his audience and presenting himself as the level head in all of this. However, none of this makes the company, Khan, or the Bucks look good to the public. I legitimately think he was one of the people that had major issues with airing the footage, and that may have removed some of his filter from airing his thoughts on the events of recent months.
