They used to make female wrestlers retire at 26 because that was the norm for female athletes. Female wrestlers couldn’t even date until someone of Hokuto’s stature broke that taboo. Unfortunately, a lot of this can be classified as “that’s the way that Japan does business”… but Japan recently had a reckoning in the entertainment industry with the Johnny’s scandal.

Exactly, Omega is full of it. Half the women in WWE and AEW have toured Stardom before, and never had a bad thing to say about Rossy. Why is Kenny the only one? It's obvious why.
So for people wondering the deal with Asuka/Rossy. It is not those two that have beef. Asuka was a tag team partner of Nanae Takahashi and they had a falling out. Nanae worked with Rossy to help form Stardom and kept Asuka out of the company (according to Asuka). Asuka then wrote a manifesto about the state of Joshi wrestling because a LOT of the outlaw mudshows were/are borderline fetish material with dressing the wrestlers up as schoolgirls. Asuka also was sideways with Stardom because Nanae recruited Io Shirai to Stardom when she was working indies with Asuka and Io's older sister. Now as for Omega. He attempted to poach Mayu Iwatani from Rossy when AEW was starting. I don't know if he knew Mayu well or not but she turned him down and Rossy got a bit sideways with him attempting to do it while she was sitll under contract. Which is understandable when Stardom wrestlers only have one year contracts that have to get renewed. Then when AEW was in full swing Kenny sent Riho over to Stardom and insisted that she go over everyone, win a belt and on the way out she had to lose in a three-way so she didn't get pinned at all. Which is when Rossy was done with Kenny and AEW. (This is why Tony was happy Rossy was gone because Rossy refused to let any Stardom talent come over to do jobs to his awful roster). Him making accusations about Rossy there's been no evidence of him doing anything shady. Rossy doesn't really seem to be the type to hide anything as he has SHOWN he has a whole room in his house with a collection of ring gear he's kept from his wrestlers set up on mannequins. The foreign talent that leave have left because they went to go work in other promotions. Rossy recruiting younger talent is because all the adults that want to be in wrestling already are and are in Stardom, Actwres girl'Z, TJPW or Gatou Move. Unmarried is also obvious - in Japan when a woman gets married their family life comes first over any kind of job. So he wants single women who he can actually train up and make money off of for years. Kenny knows all of this he is just being obtuse and vague to try to bury Rossy by letting people fill in the blanks. Him claiming people in AEW don't want to work with Rossy is likely Emi Sakura....who has a rival promotion full of underage wrestlers that she has do matches against men in tiny apartments on wrestling mats, with no ring ropes, while they are dressed as schoolgirls. So Kenny is throwing rocks in glass houses since he's never made mention of her promotion or the other co-workers/friends/bosses he is still around who have been accused of sexual misconduct. Also all of the joshi that are employed by AEW are girls that were trained by Emi or work in her promotion.

To be fair, because I know a lot listeners aren't really familiar with japanese idol culture, none of this is really uncommon. Idols who are attached are unprofitable, so that's kind of a nothingburger. The junior idol stuff is also pretty common as well. None of this is to try to downplay people being predators, but more to point out that it's not that rossy is the only one. If you're doing business witht the japanese entertainment industry you're more than likely only a few steps removed from that side of it. And I feel like kenny is maybe using something that's at least partially true to attack ogawa on behalf of new japan, who at one point were definitely connected to that world visa vi the yakuza, and are possibly still through bushiroad. And not to belabor this, but new japan would have to know about this and still wanted stardom with ogawa attached. That's idol culture and thats the whole point of stardom and, really, joshi wrestling.

Yeah, the things those suits put young Japanese and Korean kids through in the idol business, even when its not predatory, are pretty heinous. AEW's working relationship with Stardom basically started within the last few months. Before that they only dealt with each other while Riho was in Japan during the pandemic and when Utami showed up on ROH during her US excursion.

@@turboturkey It gets awkward because of how it fits in Japan. They've only recently changed the age of consent from 13 to 16, so it's possible that nothing technically illegal happened. What we may see is that the WWE imposes restrictions on what the promotion he is working with does, so it may be that Stardom continue to do the calendars, while Merigold doesn't. In a more innocent example, NXT UK talent weren't allowed to work with indie promotions who didn't have sufficient medical personnel on site, so they do impose restrictions where they feel it's in the interest of the company. It's going to be interesting to see how it happens going forward, but I would guess that both promotions need scrutiny from the western companies if they are going to continue to have ties. With that said, the Chasyn Rance ties make Omega a suspect witness.

I'll say this as someone familiar with the joshi scene who lived in Japan for a time and who has friends in it. I've never heard anyone say anything like this about Rossy. I've heard people be upset with business dealings and wrestlers not liking booking but nobody has ever even hinted at him doing anything with any of the girls. Most of the girls have a lot of respect for him and how he treated them. Most will openly talk about how he ensured those who worked for him were paid well so they didn't need to work other jobs (As girls in other promotions usually have to). This is why there are a lot of wrestlers both in and outside of Japan who are very loyal to him. Several have already left a guaranteed good pay check at Stardom to join him at his new promotion. Several of them know him far better than Omega. The age requirements and gravure books are also common in joshi as well as many of the male promotions as if the preference for not been married. Thats a Japanese wrestling industry thing and not a rossy Ogawa thing. As to Asuka. Her beef wasn't with Rossy and she in fact took pictures with him at the HOF recently. Her beef with Stardom was with Co-founder Nanae Takahashi who she had major heat with going back to 2009/10.

Rossy *is* shady, but he's the type of shady that tells Aja Kong to quit in the ring, refuses to pay her afterwards, and claims he never told her to quit. Business stuff. This Rossy's stuff is a sticky situation, Also coming from Kenny Omega is interesting with his own accusations with young children, this is hard to swallow. Plus he loses credibility by using the "E-drone" insult. Doesn't help that DrainBamager, one of the biggest Pro-AEW shills ever, is trying to push towards Rossy's cancellation. Also wouldn't this be something to look into Joshi Princess Wrestling or Emi Sakura's company as well? I'm sure WWE has been looking into what Rossy has done, before they considered working with him, even more so after what Vince has done. I know Asuka does have bad blood with Stardom, but she is also a professional. She has also praised a lot of the talent from Stardom. I know a lot of talent have praised Rossy as a person, in Japan, WWE, and AEW, so we'll see where this goes. We also forget that Japanese culture has different standards and "Japanese Idols" have been a thing for some time now.
Funny how everyone is taking what Kenny says as gospel. Go back to 2019 when AEW/Kenny were trying to poach Joshi wrestlers from Rossy/Stardom: Bea, Jamie, Riho( who was a freelancer but was doing a lot of work in Stardom at the time). But the one they really wanted was Mayu Iwatani. AEW went behind Rossy's back and tried sign Mayu,, but Mayu is like a daughter to Rossy. Once Rossy realized what was going on he put the kabash on the poaching. That's why you never saw Stardom working with AEW. Even when NJPW worked with AEW, AEW had to go to TJPW to find Joshi's to work with. As far as I know, I think Stardom has been the only independent wrestling promotion to say NO to AEW. As far as Asuka, my thought was that she had negative feelings towards Nanae Takahashi (Co-founder of Stardom with Rossy and Fuka) and not Rossy. Asuka wrote her manifesto in 2010 based on how wrestling was so male oriented and how Japan portrayed the Joshi scene as dainty girls and not as true wrestlers. Stardom would start up a couple of months after Asuka's manifesto came out (I believe the manifesto came out Sept-Oct of 2010 in Pro Wrestling Weekly). It's interesting that Kenny would side with Asuka considering how she would feel about him wrestling nine year girls. Another thing to keep in mind; the culture towards women wrestling in Japan is different than here in the states (like how Kenny wrestling 9 year old girls). Stardom wasn't the only Joshi promotion doing bikini photo shoots back then. One has to wonder why Kenny never brought this up before Rossy leaving Stardom and forming his new promotion. Stardom girls are now showing up on AEW and ROH shows. One thing Rossy has been guilty of was how protective he has been of his girls. Rossy is no angel but he does care about his girls. One of the things he disagreed with Bushiroad about was how they wanted the girls to wrestle while injured. Giulia herself spoke up against that. And seeing how Saki Kashima worked with her injured ankle last weekend it looks like Bushiroad/Stardom has gone back to that practice after Rossy left. I will say this; If any of what Kenny is alluding to is true, then Rossy should be locked up. But if Kenny is just hurt because Rossy wouldn't let any of his girls work AEW and is just spreading rumors then that is just evil.

It's amazing that none of this information was ever made public by Omega in the past thirteen years. Only when Rossy starts working with the WWE does this see the light of day. AZM was on your show the other week. Ask her.
Exactly, Omega is full of it. Half the women in WWE and AEW have toured Stardom before, and never had a bad thing to say about Rossy. Why is Kenny the only one? It's obvious why.
So for people wondering the deal with Asuka/Rossy. It is not those two that have beef. Asuka was a tag team partner of Nanae Takahashi and they had a falling out. Nanae worked with Rossy to help form Stardom and kept Asuka out of the company (according to Asuka). Asuka then wrote a manifesto about the state of Joshi wrestling because a LOT of the outlaw mudshows were/are borderline fetish material with dressing the wrestlers up as schoolgirls. Asuka also was sideways with Stardom because Nanae recruited Io Shirai to Stardom when she was working indies with Asuka and Io's older sister.
Now as for Omega. He attempted to poach Mayu Iwatani from Rossy when AEW was starting. I don't know if he knew Mayu well or not but she turned him down and Rossy got a bit sideways with him attempting to do it while she was sitll under contract. Which is understandable when Stardom wrestlers only have one year contracts that have to get renewed. Then when AEW was in full swing Kenny sent Riho over to Stardom and insisted that she go over everyone, win a belt and on the way out she had to lose in a three-way so she didn't get pinned at all. Which is when Rossy was done with Kenny and AEW. (This is why Tony was happy Rossy was gone because Rossy refused to let any Stardom talent come over to do jobs to his awful roster).
Him making accusations about Rossy there's been no evidence of him doing anything shady. Rossy doesn't really seem to be the type to hide anything as he has SHOWN he has a whole room in his house with a collection of ring gear he's kept from his wrestlers set up on mannequins. The foreign talent that leave have left because they went to go work in other promotions. Rossy recruiting younger talent is because all the adults that want to be in wrestling already are and are in Stardom, Actwres girl'Z, TJPW or Gatou Move. Unmarried is also obvious - in Japan when a woman gets married their family life comes first over any kind of job. So he wants single women who he can actually train up and make money off of for years. Kenny knows all of this he is just being obtuse and vague to try to bury Rossy by letting people fill in the blanks.
Him claiming people in AEW don't want to work with Rossy is likely Emi Sakura....who has a rival promotion full of underage wrestlers that she has do matches against men in tiny apartments on wrestling mats, with no ring ropes, while they are dressed as schoolgirls. So Kenny is throwing rocks in glass houses since he's never made mention of her promotion or the other co-workers/friends/bosses he is still around who have been accused of sexual misconduct. Also all of the joshi that are employed by AEW are girls that were trained by Emi or work in her promotion.

To be fair, because I know a lot listeners aren't really familiar with japanese idol culture, none of this is really uncommon.
Idols who are attached are unprofitable, so that's kind of a nothingburger.
The junior idol stuff is also pretty common as well.
None of this is to try to downplay people being predators, but more to point out that it's not that rossy is the only one. If you're doing business witht the japanese entertainment industry you're more than likely only a few steps removed from that side of it.
And I feel like kenny is maybe using something that's at least partially true to attack ogawa on behalf of new japan, who at one point were definitely connected to that world visa vi the yakuza, and are possibly still through bushiroad.
And not to belabor this, but new japan would have to know about this and still wanted stardom with ogawa attached.

Yeah, the things those suits put young Japanese and Korean kids through in the idol business, even when its not predatory, are pretty heinous. Imagine telling a teenage girl that she's not allowed to have a relationship while she's an idol because that'd cause her 300 pound NEET fans to turn on her and tank her career.

AEW's working relationship with Stardom basically started within the last few months. Before that they only dealt with each other while Riho was in Japan during the pandemic and when Utami showed up on ROH during her US excursion.

@@turboturkey It gets awkward because of how it fits in Japan. They've only recently changed the age of consent from 13 to 16, so it's possible that nothing technically illegal happened. What we may see is that the WWE imposes restrictions on what the promotion he is working with does, so it may be that Stardom continue to do the calendars, while Merigold doesn't. In a more innocent example, NXT UK talent weren't allowed to work with indie promotions who didn't have sufficient medical personnel on site, so they do impose restrictions where they feel it's in the interest of the company. It's going to be interesting to see how it happens going forward, but I would guess that both promotions need scrutiny from the western companies if they are going to continue to have ties.
With that said, the Chasyn Rance ties make Omega a suspect witness.

From what I remember, a year or two ago Asuka was going on Twitter and Instagram rants about people trying to destroy her career/reputation in Japan. People conflated that with Ogawa.

I'll say this as someone familiar with the joshi scene who lived in Japan for a time and who has friends in it.
I've never heard anyone say anything like this about Rossy. I've heard people be upset with business dealings and wrestlers not liking booking but nobody has ever even hinted at him doing anything with any of the girls.
Most of the girls have a lot of respect for him and how he treated them. Most will openly talk about how he ensured those who worked for him were paid well so they didn't need to work other jobs (As girls in other promotions usually have to).
This is why there are a lot of wrestlers both in and outside of Japan who are very loyal to him. Several have already left a guaranteed good pay check at Stardom to join him at his new promotion. Several of them know him far better than Omega.
The age requirements and gravure books are also common in joshi as well as many of the male promotions as if the preference for not been married. Thats a Japanese wrestling industry thing and not a rossy Ogawa thing.
As to Asuka. Her beef wasn't with Rossy and she in fact took pictures with him at the HOF recently. Her beef with Stardom was with Co-founder Nanae Takahashi who she had major heat with going back to 2009/10.
Yeah it's difficult to take seriously when the guy saying it is playing a video game & stops mid sentence to say, wow sick move dude. Not to mention, why not go to the police? To me it feels like "vague posting" to get attention & views. That's why Brian Last is acting so gleefully while talking about it. I'll take it seriously when police are involved.
Rossy *is* shady, but he's the type of shady that tells Aja Kong to quit in the ring, refuses to pay her afterwards, and claims he never told her to quit. Business stuff. This Rossy's stuff is a sticky situation, Also coming from Kenny Omega is interesting with his own accusations with young children, this is hard to swallow. Plus he loses credibility by using the "E-drone" insult. Doesn't help that DrainBamager, one of the biggest Pro-AEW shills ever, is trying to push towards Rossy's cancellation. Also wouldn't this be something to look into Joshi Princess Wrestling or Emi Sakura's company as well? I'm sure WWE has been looking into what Rossy has done, before they considered working with him, even more so after what Vince has done. I know Asuka does have bad blood with Stardom, but she is also a professional. She has also praised a lot of the talent from Stardom. I know a lot of talent have praised Rossy as a person, in Japan, WWE, and AEW, so we'll see where this goes. We also forget that Japanese culture has different standards and "Japanese Idols" have been a thing for some time now.

Funny how everyone is taking what Kenny says as gospel. Go back to 2019 when AEW/Kenny were trying to poach Joshi wrestlers from Rossy/Stardom: Bea, Jamie, Riho( who was a freelancer but was doing a lot of work in Stardom at the time). But the one they really wanted was Mayu Iwatani. AEW went behind Rossy's back and tried sign Mayu,, but Mayu is like a daughter to Rossy. Once Rossy realized what was going on he put the kabash on the poaching. That's why you never saw Stardom working with AEW. Even when NJPW worked with AEW, AEW had to go to TJPW to find Joshi's to work with. As far as I know, I think Stardom has been the only independent wrestling promotion to say NO to AEW. As far as Asuka, my thought was that she had negative feelings towards Nanae Takahashi (Co-founder of Stardom with Rossy and Fuka) and not Rossy. Asuka wrote her manifesto in 2010 based on how wrestling was so male oriented and how Japan portrayed the Joshi scene as dainty girls and not as true wrestlers. Stardom would start up a couple of months after Asuka's manifesto came out (I believe the manifesto came out Sept-Oct of 2010 in Pro Wrestling Weekly). It's interesting that Kenny would side with Asuka considering how she would feel about him wrestling nine year girls. Another thing to keep in mind; the culture towards women wrestling in Japan is different than here in the states (like how Kenny wrestling 9 year old girls). Stardom wasn't the only Joshi promotion doing bikini photo shoots back then. One has to wonder why Kenny never brought this up before Rossy leaving Stardom and forming his new promotion. Stardom girls are now showing up on AEW and ROH shows. One thing Rossy has been guilty of was how protective he has been of his girls. Rossy is no angel but he does care about his girls. One of the things he disagreed with Bushiroad about was how they wanted the girls to wrestle while injured. Giulia herself spoke up against that. And seeing how Saki Kashima worked with her injured ankle last weekend it looks like Bushiroad/Stardom has gone back to that practice after Rossy left. I will say this; If any of what Kenny is alluding to is true, then Rossy should be locked up. But if Kenny is just hurt because Rossy wouldn't let any of his girls work AEW and is just spreading rumors then that is just evil.

And don’t give me “It’s not his story to tell”. In that case, then why even throw this out there at all? Either tell us the facts you have or don’t.
If he doesn't have solid evidence, the kind you can present in court, what he would accomplish by spilling the beans is getting himself sued. And who knows what this would do to his ability to work in Japan. I have no idea what the laws are like over there.
