    Personal top tip(s i guess XD):
    1. when applying thermal paste just to apply a very small dropp, depending on the size of your dye/heatspreader, on a desctop i would use a drop the size of a medium sized pea, while on a cpu with no heatspreader (like you see here) i would use about 1/3 of that. And there is no need to spread it manualy, as the preasure from the screws will spread it evenly with a very little chance of getting air cought in there making your cpu run hot :D
    2. when screwing inn the cooler always make shure to tighten the screws in a cross pattern, as you then have a much smaller chance of damaging your cpu :D
    hope this helped ya' and have a nice day! Really informative and great video m8 :D

      Ask Wintersborg Govertsen lol the fact I've worked on cars before computers helped. I recently changed thermal paste on my 8540p because cpu was hitting 94° C. It's imprinted in my brain cross patterns on fasteners haha

    Just buy a Laptop at a reasonable price,
    and buy all the internal parts separately,
    you can completely turn the laptop into a bad ass.
    I bought a Hp touchsmart 15 for like $40 from a Pawn Shop, because the laptop wouldn't turn on at all,
    and the previous owner probably didn't know what was wrong with it.
    I took it home,
    open it up, and found out that the HD-Sata cable had snapped, and the Hard Disk itself was done for.
    I took out the Hard Disk, bought a 500GB SSD, bought a new SATA cable, added 8 GB of ram,
    added a new Intel Core i5-7400 3 GHz Quad-Core Processor, and voila, the laptop turned on,
    installed latest version of Windows on it, and boy is it a bad-ass.
    It has touchscreen, plus brand new SSD, SATA Cable, more RAM, and a new Processor, in total, it cost me like $380 for all those upgrades, plus $50 for the Laptop,
    so, i got a badass laptop for $430.
    Which, if i were to buy a laptop, with the same components installed, in the market, it would be around $800.

      Eduardo Avila that’s what I want t know! I have a early 2014 MacBook Air that has soldered Ram and Soldered Processor!

    • @eduardoavila646
      @eduardoavila646 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lucas Pagan Well... i tried on an old netbook, because my friend has a heat gun, but the new processor fried the board because the tdp was too high. These soldered laptos dont even support like 1 or 2w more than it original processor uses.
      The ram would be even worse to upgrade

    • @lucaspagan3576
      @lucaspagan3576 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eduardo Avila: I think you'd have to build a new logic board from stretch using software like Upventer or Eagle CAD!

    • @eduardoavila646
      @eduardoavila646 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lucas Pagan I dont think that is possible with my limited knowlege of eletronics.
      Actually its not impossible to upgrade it if you have other compatible parts with roughly the same tdp. You would need a heat gun, the soldering balls, some stencils and you could solder it. But you would need to prey for its bios have the firmware to accept the new processor. Its easier if a better model of your computer uses the same motherboard and has a better processor. Then there is a higher chance that it will work.
      Mine did turn for about 3 seconds but then its motherboard fried.
      Its not impossible, but very hard and unlikely will work.
      The thing is to stick with an older laptop with the best hardware of its time like an thinkpad that had 3th or 4th gen intel but is wasnt soldered. Or buy one of those super expensive gamer laptops or just accept that you cant change the processor.
      What i find odd, is that people is not complaining that much about it

      Aryan yadav Pretty much every laptop after 2014 (Intel Haswell or AMD Kaveri) has its CPU soldered to the motherboard so no.

    • @SSC3034
      @SSC3034 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Kolly Flix it is a possibility to desolder the chip from the motherboard and solder a new one on but usually in order to obtain a compatible chip you would have to buy the motherboard that one comes attached to which usually isn't cheap

    • @SSC3034
      @SSC3034 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Kolly Flix it should but there would be no guarantee whether or not the manufacturer has made a whitelist so that only certain processors would work since hardly anyone would try to do such a thing. In most cases any CPU on the same socket should work as long as it has the same or lower TDP as the chip you are replacing

      @jbodiesel 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @ what I said must of went over your head... I'll explain in simpler terms. An anti wrist strap is there for a reason because when you are dealing with smaller chipsets it will destroy whatever electrical component you touch. I work in the field just as you do and components are delicate. And if you are doing a job don't have none of that equipment you are fired on the spot. I seen tons of things get fried because of what you explained in your comment. Now as of seats belts killing people in car accidents, you are more likely to get killed not wearing one then wearing one... But knock yourself out and live on the edge with no seatbelt, bro. Be safe on the road, and don't drive no where near me

      Look at the PC processor (inside). Look at the socket it is using. Replaceable CPUs start with PGA(numbers) and non-replaceable ones start with BGA(numbers). If there are both, you just have to be lucky (example : Celeron T3100).

      Depends what the CPU/motherboard is. Download CPU z and find which CPU you have. Then search the CPU name with upgrade after it and you should see an upgrade.com link. Check to see if the CPU is PGA or BGA. If it's BGA it is not upgradeable if it is PGA look down the list on that page at the possible CPUs you can upgrade to and pick the best one with similar tdp.

    Do all laptops have upgradeable processors? I checked online and Lenovo(my laptop's producing company) said its impossible to upgrade your processor. I am kinda worried.

      Press Windows button + X, Device Manager, scroll down to Processors, it will show one fore every "thread" it is capable of, you still just have one CPU, but it'll show 2, 4, or 8 processors, all the same.
      open up Wiki and type your CPU model.
      Find out what "socket" it uses. P, G1, G2, G3
      Cpu-world.com will list every CPU that "fits" that socket.

      Haha so i'm going to upgrade my ram and get an ssd first, then see where i want to go.
      I got a HP G72 (17in screen, with a dual core Pentium 2.0ghz 2010) for free from my neighbor a year ago. She absolutely knows nothing about computers and best buy told her it would cost $300+ to fix. So I ran an antivirus program and got a new battery for it and its now perfect.
      I've been just using it for college and homework, but it is horrendously slow lol. Its slow even with multiplie windows open or playing some flash games on miniclip. I'm thinking just spending $50-100 in parts will do wonders to this laptop! Its better than buying a good new one for $600.
