Dave Brown (the king) is boyinaband. I didn't realize it when filming, but it dawned on me afterwards because -- despite "Dave Brown" being kind of a generic name (like "Bob Smith") -- I should have recognized him by his amazing hair. Oops.
"Why are you watching a reaction instead of watching the video first?" Because you're the only reason I'll watch it. I listen to music more than watch it. The only exception of this being The Stupendium.
One of the wizards is played by Jacksfilms. I think you might like some of his songs, but they tend to be more context based. But if I had to suggest one, his song "Mansion" is probably the best pick.
The cliffs of erectile dysfunction destruction is so like that bit in kings quest. I loved the fluidity of the animations. Especially when Brian is shooting Danny. And the quick flat voice change when asking for a warning was just great.
For me, the last two original NSP albums have been the best in different areas; I would say that Cool Patrol is the best comedy album the band has put out (or at least my favourite) whereas The Prophecy is, musically and in terms of instrumentation, the best. Still super funny though, obviously.
The video was beyond what I thought it could be, from art direction, live action segments, they really did an amazing job. Musically this quickly became one of my three favorite songs they’ve done, so I was really looking forward to the video. The animation was such a great cross between Black Cauldron and Bluth’s works, with inklings of Fire and Ice mixed in.
This whole song is amazing, but honestly, I think the best line is "But not a single blow was struck, alas for he was strong! as! f******************************ck!"
I've been putting off listening to the song for years just so I didn't spoil anything for myself lol 😅 It was certainly worth the wait to watch, and alongside my favorite reaction channel reacting to it alongside it 😁👍❤
Dan Brown who plays the king is normally known as Boyinaband. You should definitely check out some of his raps, an incredible wordsmith akin to Stupendium, without the heavy lean on comedy. Still packs some punchlines however.
Coming from the UK. I absolutely love NSP and love to see people react to their content, yours was the one I've enjoyed the most in all honesty! Good luck with everything else you do!
The fact Ninja Brian shakes his head as Danny says "Because he's a good friend"..yeah, Danny is the ONLY one of the two who thinks they are friends..maybe shooting him 3 more times in the back ON PURPOSE with magic arrows with the flattest "F' You" face on the planet should have been a big hint lol.
I've read a theory that Brian hangs out with Danny because he's able to get away with knocking him around. I mean, he's killed Danny before, and the guy always comes back. Even being an unstoppable, sociopath ninja must get boring without a little company.
Dave Brown is BoyInABand, his most famous personal work is Don't Stay In School, while he's more known for being in Idubbz's RiceGum Diss and PewDiePie's T-Series diss
I was literally typing a comment to say I should have realized Dave was boyinaband. I only know him from the ERB Harry Potter vs Luke Skywalker video, tho.
@@Insaneian I recommend listening to his stuff, good fast rap and pointless fast rap show off his rapping ability while songs like empty and I'm not dead show off his ability to tell a story in a song
@@Insaneian Actually, yes, although that's more generally than in music... he's normally relatively serious in his music... But he does some fun stuff too, like with odd 1s out he did "Life is Fun" I think... With Dan Bull I think he made a Violent Bible Rap (although that's maybe funnier in concept than maybe lyrical content... The presentation might be a good laugh too as well)... There's probably some other stuff I'm forgetting... I think there were a couple of fast raps he did with somewhat funny themes too... I think one was something like Pointless Fast Rap... Might depend a bit on your sense of humour.
I haven't seen anyone talk about the pink floyed references with the one of the first lines of the song, "in labyrinths of coral caves", taken right out of pink floyeds echoes and the kaleidoscope thing could be a coincidence but its the same effect used for the album cover for piper at the gates of dawn
I mean, I'd call it ninja running since I'm pretty sure other ninja characters did it way before Naruto... But oh well, I suppose we still know what you're describing.
You are bang on, this has such strong Bluth vibes. A point and click game of this would be epic. What NSP tracks would you recommend to check out? This is actually the first I have heard, thanks for sharing it about with your reaction!
Thank you! A personal fave is First Date (I covered it for the NSP tribute album) but Mansion Party and Welcome to My Parents House are also good...and all three are animated by Shoocharu. Another great one is Danny Don't You Know, and Cool Patrol. There's so many good ones, but I'd start with these. I've actually reacted to a bunch from this most recent album, too.
2020, quarantine things, imagen if they had social media during the black plauge. "Hey everyone, everyone is dying around me but how how are my subscribers doing?" 😂
ACTUALLY, Eric Radic aka Krag from the twitch channel KragSonOfHorace and co-star of the live play pathfinder show "dragons and things" often gets is taken for Matt Mercer. he can not attend GenCon or other gaming conventions with out 5 people calling him "matt", even though Eric is 6 foot 6 and has a mustache
Hey Ian! Awesome Job! Might I recommend looking/listening to the album Starship velociraptor by Johnathan Young. Ninja Brian helped out with at least the song he guest starred in, Best Band in the Universe, but the whole album has kinda a NSP/Half-brick studios (The guys who did jetpack joyride, who made a few songs for their games) kinda feel.
I have, actually! I bought the CD after I saw the video with Ninja Brian...sadly, I didn't save that one to react to. Sorry. If he does any other videos for one of the other comedy songs from that album (which is mostly non-comedy) I'll check it out here, tho!
@@Insaneian what would you say your favorite track off of it is? I like most of them, but if I had to choose, I think my three favorites would be Man the cannons, storm the castle, and settle it with a sword fight. A favorite track runner up would have to be hyper speed.
@@BlindMelonLord settle it with a sword fight probably, or Best Band in the Universe...if it were mixed better. I have a problem with comedy songs when you can't understand the lyrics well...which is the whole point of a comedy song.
I actually bought the B3 cd directly from Jirard at his live show a few years ago. While I am familiar with the songs, I don't think I've actually seen the music videos. Good call! I'll add them to the list.
Question, have you seen “Release the kraken”? If not you should react to it because it is a personal favorite as well as “6969” which, is my personal favorite but also fun fact: when it was released on TH-cam, it came out on my birthday. Which is just a bonus honestly
I have already seen both of those, sorry. Tho they are great! In fact I had the animator of the Kraken video, KLN, do the artwork for the front cover of the NSP tribute album I produced!
Cant really enjoy Ninja sex party after all the Dan Avidan accusations and such. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I always cringe a little at seeing Dan Avidan .
@@Insaneian not wholeslluy,. It ended on it being the bit of abuse of power as the victim said and the weird age gap thing where even dan brought it up.
@@lop90ful1 There was no abuse of power. The other person was an adult, and adults are responsible for their own decisions. If he was her boss and was threatening to fire her if she didn't do something, then you'd have an argument, but she's a big girl who can make her own decisions. My top 3 NSP albums are:
1. Cool Patrol
2. Attitude City
3. The Prophecy
Princess carrying Danny is really reminding of the Bard's Tale (remake) ending.
