I've been obsessed with this song for the past 48 hours. Have been looking forward to your reaction since I first heard it!
Thanks! It is a banger for sure!
Same! Its so good!
Same here!
I’m glad to know that I am not the only one @TheStupendium!
Hard same. This thing is going to be stuck in my head *forever*.
I personally love how the DJ is just so personally invested in helping this poor 3-dimensional fella enjoy their music. Come on, my dimensionally-challenged friend, hit the dance floor!
Dimensionally challenged is such a great thing to say to a human! That's actually perfect
I actually thought about this a bit when I first saw the song and I think he might be doing that for everybody, considering the dancefloor is everywhere in time. He could just be reassuring all his dimensionally challenged friends at a static point in time, which is arguably cooler
why does this comment give me deja vu
Cha cha cha!

Love how literally an hour after this went up Tom released ANOTHER song
@@hackermanxdd yeah, me too, lol
@@Insaneian I actually found out about "Draclias" through this comment thread because I didn't see the notification... But I made sure to watch this reaction first!
As the Void, I can confirm that one part of the song.
The one about pants or...?
@@garr_inc yes
I will one day become the me who's not shit scared to hit the dancefloor...
And I hope yall do to!
I believe I'm actually achieving this right now, this sensation feels amazing 😄😆
Don't know if you noticed, but Tom held that note from 15:16 for almost a solid 30 seconds.
When I counted after watching the first time, I got 24 seconds. Not _quite_ sure I'd describe that as almost thirty instead of more than twenty, but still insanely impressive.
"How does a Neutron Star eat?" Also possible considering the grammar: "How do you eat a Neutron Star?" (Like Caviar, apparently)
A neutron star eats one bite at a time.
neutron stars do not turn into black holes, they are something that a heavily massive star can turn into alongside blackholes. neutron stars are incredibly small, but that also means that they are immensely dense and have massive gravitational pulls. i imagine a neutron star would absolutely devour caviar.
Not by themselves, but they can if they have accretion of external mass.
This is not a typical Tom Cardy song, this is THE Tom Cardy song. I have listened to it on loop for the last few days and it has quickly become my new favourite one of his songs (which is no small feat.) Part of that, and a large part at that, is the animated music video. Not only can Shoocharu capture the chaos on a non-euclidean, interdimensional, pan-temporal rave. Plus the design for the DJ (who I've taken to calling Finn, short for Infinity, the Multi-Dimensional Master of the Arts or MDMA for short) is nothing short of inspired.
My favourite moment, and one I feel a little bad you didn't expand on in your commentary here, is the moment where he sings "Don't let it twist up your insides" and then holds the note as the backing vocals go through a whole slew of songs that this song has sounded like and how this is the first time it's become a Cha Cha. Holding that note for so long with the accompanying animation is literally... Transcendental.
beacause your the only reaction channel I watch, I was waiting for this one. I do also hope that this gets a instrumental release, probably not but the tune seems really interesting alongside the immensely layerd lyric ofcourse. Its like a cha cha wearing 20 tearaway pants made out of lyric over one another.
And Tom really did make up for being silent for some time with this one.
Im so glad you also noticed that Ninja Brian was the executioner. That was one of my favorite visual easter eggs from this awesome music video.
"He did a song for Helluva Boss I think" Yup! Juggling Iz Cool from Mammon's Magnificent Musical Mid-Season Special. I love how he sounds like Creature Feature at one point (the pie gag part)
Oh shii youre right
"...to the power of 42." It's a Douglas Adams reference.
The way to solve the crunchyness issue is to record two audio tracks with VBR (variable bitrate) set to youtube's reccomended and kiss the audio problems goodbye
@@Shavaaa oooh! You're the first person to offer a solution! Thanks!
Now to figure out how to do that... 😅
@@Insaneian hope it helps! Depends on what you record with there should be export options for multi track export (simmilar on how in OBS you have a desktop audio and microphone audio seperate ^^)
Simply head to your advanced output settings and tick boxes 1 - 6 to record 6 separate tracks. You wont see it on the output file, only once you open it in an editing software like premiere
This song had the energy of a list song, while also carrying through a plot. So I absolutely need to see how you break it down!
I think 42 in the probability for zoomba might be a refrence to a hitchikers guide to the galaxy
Given the album title is also a hitch-hiker's reference, this is a safe bet.
@@roninnmilian4993 I would say it definitely is
This is by far his best song yet. I've also been waiting for your reaction for it since it came out. Love your reactions so much! :)
mfw insane ian uploads a reaction to the song that i've been replaying for days
Yay! I was waiting when you would react to Tom Cardy, his song is so great. I already listened almost a full week and still not tired of it. Apart from the amazing music, the animation and style fits so well and is quite funny too!
YAY I’ve been excited to see your reaction to this one! Absolutely my new favorite Tom song, musically and lyrically.
The first listen is overwhelming/overstimulating, but keep listening and you'll get the hang of it! But then, you might get addicted and have to at least listen to it once a day 😬. I'm thinking that it is a larger message to be less hesitant to take leaps or even dance because your existence is but a small speck in the whole infinity of the universe. It brings a slight comfort to being a little shy or having social anxiety. Love shoocharu's imagery of all these characters and bringing the words into amazing visuals! Tom is also a crazy genius as we all know (new tune just dropped yesterday and it's silly but the beat is 🔥)
The Bill Cipher coded bop! I’m so glad you’re experiencing it!
i recommend "monster truck" by tom cardy, its great and i havent seen anyone else react to it
Sadly I already saw it before I started reacting to his stuff. Sorry!
Super obsessed with Tom's work it's just so interesting and fresh and I just appreciate deeply his sense of humor and wit
So glad Tom Cardy is back and love your reaction as always! I know it's a bit different but would you ever react to improv comedy music from Dropout TV like the Official Cast Recording?
@@rachaelmason692 i *love* Dropout and the "karaoke" episodes of Game Changer and Make Some Noise...but Original Cast Recording hits me in my cringe meter...if they released a song by itself in a video maybe, but doing a whole episode probably wouldn't be plausible since it's a streaming exclusive and they likely would claim it.
@@Insaneian Absolutely fair!
Tom Cardy references Everything Everywhere All At Once in the video description, and yeah, there's no doubt, this has got EEAAO inspiration all over it. I mean, that one movie basically took to school everybody else who even wanted to approach multiverse-based stories. P.S. If you haven't seen it, it's a must-watch.
please help me its in my head, i have gazed into infinity and the truth of cha cha hasnt left my head since, the forbidden dance knowledge has burdened my mind with cosmic horror and rhythm
You say that like it's a bad thing.
I feel like that "to the power of 42" was a subtle Douglas Adams nod
I WAS WAITING FOR THISSSS
I gotta say thank you so much doing your reaction and break down. It’s nice to actually hear person feedback and things that I have missed as well. The song is great but to articulate song into words of how great is wonderful. Also nice dance moves you should dance in more videos.
I've listened to this one like seven times over two days. My siblings hate me, but I just keep grooving
Been looking forward for this reaction!
I was extremely excited for your reaction to this lol
Am I the only one who hears the audio of the music be a bit weird and choppy? or is it just on my side?
Nerevetheless, loved the reaction!
One thing I really loved in the video is how the random human starts as this muted gray-ish colour when he is still just freaked out and not jamming, which contrast with the vibrant colours of the other creatures and his surroundings
But when he finally gets into the groove (after getting his mind widened by the experience) he gets this vibran orange hue more fitting with the rest of the video
@@ThorirPP i speak about the audio directly in the reaction. It's an issue with the capture.
I’ve never been so invested and so overstimulated at the same time 😅
Also COGGGGG 🗣️‼️ (nice shirt lol)
Invested and overstimulated is the BEST description for this song! Thanks!
There is an EXTREMELY good mashup version of this song called Transcendental Fever Dream, would highly recommend it!
Is no one gonna appreciate the fact that weird al yankovic knows him?
I'll have to double check if he has already, but if not he should react to "I Met Weird Al" by Kevin Temmer with that in mind
YEAAAHH, FINALLY, i'm in absolute LOVE with this song, i was waiting for your reaction so damn MUCH
This review had me laughing and cackling like a crazy person. Loved every second of it.
No need to apologise. As long as you can hear the song fine, I don't mind if the audio gets crunchy after editing. I've listened to the song multiple times, I'm here for your reaction.
It's a very different song for him IMO, to me it's not really funny the way his other ones are. But it's still an amazing song and I love it. Also you mentioned Douglas Adams, the number is raised to the power 42.
@@xAjido oh yeah! I noticed that but forgot to comment on it. Thanks!
I think Tom Carey sang for He'll of a Boss. I think it was during a montage of the competition between Fizz and the twins.
If the rest of the album is even half as good as this track, it's going to be amazing.
I think the neutron star line is meant like one would mention a famous movie superstar, but this one is a galaxy. It hit me last night and made the line 12× better
delightedly waiting for your reaction to this; honestly I would be equally delighted by a *second*-watch reaction, lol, given the way I've played the video and Spotify track on nearly-endless repeat all week...
(side note: you might be able to get him his [first?] Logan Award if you can manage to get Jack Black and Kyle Gass to bring it to Australia, I'm just sayin'...)
@@DexSinistral-i4z he won a Logan Award for HYCYBH which i was able to send to him and he received, but his second Logan he won last year for the music video for Red Flags he has yet to respond to me about.
I could maybe send it to the same address as before, but if he's not there anymore I don't want it to be lost.
If you've never seen it, I highly recommend Johnathan Young's Best Band in the Universe (and other songs from the album)
It's got everything, a great chorus, catchy guitar bits, an NSP cameo, and excessive cursing
@@Magis_Ghast I've seen it! I even own the album on CD (I was a little disappointed it wasn't ALL comedy, but it's a great album nevertheless).
@@Insaneian excellent!! It's a great one. It's definitely a serious song, but I also love Land of the Living by him
you have a point there. this song does sound like something that would play to introduce a new character. and damn does it fit well. it introduces the transcendental DJ. its just sooooo epic
Im gonna take a shot every time you say comedy
@@MakMathis i will not be responsible for giving you alcohol poisoning.

This song reminds me a lot of Tally Hall

Recommendation to react to Evil F@ing Wizard if you haven't already or are ok with a whole lot of swearing, its a supper silly song and the guy also made another song called wizard fist fight (you can see a theme) i love both equally.
I love your content and am glad that youre reacting to this song because this one has basically consumed my life since it came out lol
Okay talking about the past, can we say there is no past and there is only the present, since the past is over with. People might say something happened, but does having no past contradict it. There is only the present, right? The past is over.
Love your reactions, if you are looking for some haloween comedy songs Nick Lutsko has done 4 each october for the last couple years that are great

This comment will sound mean spirited, but you commentary seems very uninspired, mostly repeating the lines from the song but slightly paraphrased. I agree that the DJ character and song fells like Hazbin Hotel / Helluva Boss
@@MortalMercury admittedly, i was just coming back from a comedy music convention on the weekend, so I was EXHAUSTED. Sorry it shows here in my commentary, but thanks for checking it out anyway!
A bit of constructive criticism:
You reactions always boil down to
- pause the video
- repeat what just happened, verbatim
- "that just happened"
- unpause
- occasionally stop to be self-deprecating
If you add literally _anything insightful_ it would make your videos leagues more entertaining to watch, and considering that you're a comedy musician you should have tons of insight.
Also, regarding the issue with the video you're watching getting encoded, that's what test recordings are for. You could absolutely fix that if you did some testing and drilled down to the root cause. You _clearly_ already know it's an issue (because you stopped to self-deprecate about it), so why don't you do anything about it?
(I wouldn't usually leave such a negative comment but to be completely honest I've had a bad day and wanted to be productive with my frustration.)
@@SikerGaming hey, cool, thanks.
The issue with the test thing is the audio issues are not consistent AT ALL. So testing doesn't really help. Because I've done that before.
As far as insight...sure, I could have been more insightful in this particular reaction (tho I thought what I said about it seeming like a character introduction song was pretty insightful) but then again I say at the very beginning of the video that I might be insightful, I might give breakdowns...or I might just *laugh* . Every video is different, and since it's a first impression reaction I'm never sure how it' going to go until I'm in it. Pobody's nerfect and all that. Some videos are insightful, and some aren't. 🤷♂️
Regardless of all that...thanks for the comment. I appreciate the feedback. While I may not agree with your assessment, you're certainly entitled to your opinion.
Plus, it helps the video visibility in the algorithm.
But I'll admit, i never considered the parallels between my reluctance to hit the dancefloor and my reluctance to truly contemplate existence, but here we are.
I do love your reactions, it's like getting to watch then for the first time again.
