Could you suggest an LMS to use for a self contained room with up to 4 grade levels? I am undecided between Schoology and Google Class. Love your videos btw!
Hi, which LMS is your school using? I ask b/c it might just be easiest to use what others are using for simplicity sake/the ability the share resources/keeping everything normed within your school. Do you have access to a district Schoology account? If so, it has a lot more features than Google Classroom, so you might want to go with that option, but it is more challenging to figure out in the beginning. If you want a simpler system that's easier to get the hang of, I'd go with Google Classroom.
I am an elementary music teacher. My district reassigned me for the last 10 weeks of the school year to teach TK/Kindergarten remote. We got two days to set up our SeeSaw and Clever pages. Your video on SeeSaw was FANTASTIC. I set the whole thing up by watching this. It was so clear. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
I love this video. I am now going to follow step by step because I am technologically challenged and this will make the lives of my students, my assistant, and self much better. Thank you.
Thank you so very much for your videos. You are clear and direct in your delivery and I appreciate your step by step, yet still personable style. As a new instructional coach it's tremendously helpful to watch you explain both the teacher dashboard as well as the student view so I can support educators who are pioneering this hybrid learning!
Thank you for another powerful, informative video. I really like how this tool can be used by teachers, students, and families, as well as being able to incorporate in-class material for online application. The extra option of associating assignments to skills is a wow factor.
Can you use Seesaw with just more than one grade level? What I mean is do you have to select just one grade level when you sign up? Your tutorial depicts that Seesaw is very student and teacher friendly. Thank you for creating and posting it!
Thanks so much. Love how you just get to the point and use arrows to explain what you are talking about. Really helpful. Regarding turned in student work, as a teacher, I appreciate the comment section, but I really prefer, when grading/going over student work, to circle errors, or underline words, or write directly next to the subject matter I want my students to correct. Can I do this on turned in work with a stylus writer on, say, an iPad? I'm totally new to Seesaw, and don't use an iPad, but will get one if this is possible. Thanks again - sorry if it's a newbie question :)
Thank you! Your videos are always great! Clear and informative videos. Random question- As a deaf ed teacher, have you ever thought of pairing ASL with your videos? There are so few ASL tutorials for ed. tech! My coworkers/students would be so excited for really great quality tech videos, like yours!
Sam, thank you so much for your video. I am considering using Seesaw this school year. My school doesn't have Seesaw, instead we use Schoology which to me, is not user (Kindergarten) friendly. What do you think about using Seesaw on my own (previously Tech Dep approval, and posible conflicts when transferring collected data to Schoology ? Do you think by having to deal with both resources would increase my workload? Sorry for this long message but I really need advice. Thanks!
Hi Gigi, You can definitely still use Seesaw separate from Schoology. Seesaw isn't really a true Learning Management System, so it doesn't conflict with Schoology. I agree, though, that Schoology isn't a very Kinder friendly LMS; it's more designed for older students.
Very nice! Thank you. How would we connect Seesaw to Google classroom? Our district is requiring to use Google Classroom as the main platform, but wondering if I can integrate Seesaw to it so my Pre-K students can do its activities login from Google Classroom first?
Hi Marjorie! Yes, you can definitely just post links to Seesaw from Google Classroom (that's what I do, actually!). First add your Google Classroom roster in Seesaw so it creates individual folders for students based on their gmail accounts. Then when they click on the link they'll sign in with Google and be signed into the Seesaw account! You might want to take a look at this other Seesaw video on my channel b/c I show more about the Google Classroom integration in it: th-cam.com/video/O81_3WzxQbE/w-d-xo.html&t=
Great video! Thanks so much! Question: What if two teachers are sharing a class...can I have different settings for certain folders? For example, if I don't want students to like each others' work and my teaching partner does. Can we use different settings for each folder?
Hi Amelia, You're very welcome! If you are essentially just co-teachers in a class, the settings would have to be the same. You could also create separate classes and then just share assignments if you'd prefer to keep all of your own settings intact, if that makes sense.
Your tutorial is very helpful. Unfortunately, my account was set up by someone that they didn't wait for our school license of Seesaw and setup the account using the "free" account and my school account is a total mess, the kids are really confused. I would love for you to take a look at it. I want to have a page for the co-teacher so the students that this teacher serves will only access her page and not have total confusion (these are 7 yr olds that have never used Seesaw. Help Please)
Hi Leona, sorry for the long delay in responding here. I think your best bet would be to contact Seesaw directly to see if they can help you with syncing up your accounts, which they definitely should be able to do. Best of luck!
Do you know how to check Students Work all at once? I mean, doing my template activity, Can I add the answers and Seesaw automatically checked them as correct or incorrect?
Just paused the video to ask a question: What's to stop a student from clicking on another student's name when they are logging in? What if someone decided they just wanted to "look around" in another student's account???
Hi Donna, that is a possibility. I would only use the no email sign in for young students who don't have school email addresses, so hopefully with the little ones that kind of thing wouldn't really be happening. If it does, it would be an opportunity to talk about digital citizenship and privacy concerns.

That's a great question! You can write directly on student work as well by clicking on the three dots underneath the assignment and clicking "edit."

Your video was very helpful, thank you! Would I be able to video a 30 minute reading lesson for the kiddos to watch?
Hi Sharon, I think that will depend on the file size. I'd recommend getting in and seeing what works/what doesn't!
Does Seesaw offer a grade book like Google Classroom? Is there a way to record a grade on each assignment?
Yes, but it's part of the premium (not free) version).
Am learning this is so nice
Do you know how to check Students Work all at once? I mean, doing my template activity, Can I add the answers and Seesaw automatically checked them as correct or incorrect?
Unfortunately there isn't a way to auto-grade in Seesaw, at least not yet.
Hi, how can I save my work before turning to the teachers?
You should see an orange check inside of an orange circle that says draft, which will save your work and allow you to come back to it later.
Thanks
Sure thing Mindy! Happy SeeSawing 😃
