Just wow! When you put the white "curtains" on, I didn't like it AT ALL. But then when you took the tape off, I was so surprised at how great it looks. I love your videos -- they give me hope! At 74, I'm just starting, and am thrilled (most of the time) with what I create. And when I'm not, I cut it up! Thanks for your encouragement!
I felt the same way. And then when you put the card with the jelly fish with your art, I loved how the curtain things felt a little jellyfish-ish to me. Love all your inspiring videos!
I just love the colors in this, Denise. Mixed media is so freeing and I'm still feeing my way. Thanks for all your encouragement to just " go for it." I'm thrilled there are so many Color Cube Cards...this means we will be watching you for a very long time.
Also Denise I am learning to loosen up, and EXPERIMENT, and keep a journal of my experiments with notes as I found the larger posca pens did the same to me, and watching you I realized to just embrace the whole adventure and LEARN... Thank you so much for being so available on here, in the FB group and on skillshare. I am so glad I found you! The no us side, but not really, I want all the supplies you use, they look like so much fun lol!
I have learned so much about layers from your videos. Your playfulness helps me relax and encourages me to go out to the studio and just play with my supplies.
OMG....BRAVERY at its finest. I thought, noooo curtains, but was i wrong. After you peeled the tape, im IN TRUE LOVE. i love these colors and wow........its all about the layers.
I live the big blobby pink dots. Nice texture. I really liked it before the white stencil. But after you pulled the tape yes, flowed with the border perfectly. I do abstracts like you with paint from edge to edge. I always start with a wet page. I just really like all the blooms. But I'm trying to allow myself more dryness. Thanks for another great video. And thanks for the beginning and end close up shots.
Girl! Another great color combo and the texture!!! When you zoomed in at the end I just sighed with the Posca paint dots under the “curtain” so good! ❤❤❤
Vous etes tellement étonnante et spontanée que c'est une grande joie de vous regardez et vous entendre déployer votre talent. C'est une aide contre la rigidité non productive de vouloir être perfectionniste. Merc!
I was shaking my head and muttering no. No NO !! when you took that curtain stencil up, but it went so much better than I thought. I like that the white was translucent and the gorgeous colors came through. Thanks for sharing!! See you next time. 😘😊
You inspire me so much. Last Time i have paint a lot motiv paintings. And since few days I watched your Videos, i become funn to try out something new. Don't think to much what other people think. You make Sunlight in my days specially if my day somethimes isn't nice. Blessings from Germany and a big hug.🎉🤗🥰
I just love stencils. When I get stuck that’s what I always grab. It would be fun to see all of your stencil collection and art supplies. Maybe you could do a craft room tour. This turned out amazing one of my favs lately!
They really turned out wonderfully. The color palette initially didn’t appeal to me, but the completed pieces are so lovely they should be framed. Thanks for another inspirational video.
Love It!!!!!!! It does look kind of tropical. Very pretty. Sitting here staring at the wall, and when I watched your vid, I'm off to the no-white page paralysis! You inspire me. ❤❤❤
Hi, I found you on you tube this week. I love watching your video's. I am totaly in love with your mixed media paintings. I had a kind of creative block, now I am inspired again. Thank you so much!🥰
Gorgeous, Denice. I think we're all "obsessed" with you! Love these colors. My newest set of Holbein gouache (Irodori, Spring set) includes a metallic silver which is very pretty. It will be fun trying those out. I picked them because they are not MY comfort zone. I'm the red, orange, purple (I know, I know, lol) and deep blue kinda girl. These are a softer palette, though it does contain a few deeper shades. But one thing I have learned to appreciate over the short time I've been painting: neutrals are very important. They not only break things up so your eye can rest, but they add a necessary bit of contrast. With that being said...I'm off to make a new painting. :) Thanks again, Denise.
You are such an inspiration. Because of you I have explored new art supplies that I never thought I was interested in. I am a very detailed watercolor painter and it’s been very important to me to have the most transparent watercolors. Well, now I am mixing my transparent paint with titanium white to get colors that aren’t in the Kuretake set. I now have an extensive collection of stencils, art sponges, watercolor pencils and crayons. A few days ago I subscribed to Skillshare and am now devouring your videos there. Thank you so much for sharing your talent.
That’s some thing I notice about your work, is that sometimes I think a choice doesn’t work very well and then by the time you pull the tape off, it’s absolutely stunning. it encourages me to keep going when I am doing something that I’m not crazy about. Thank you so much for helping me! I also really appreciate the close-up pictures that you show in your intro or at the end that show the detail. Even more beautiful than just seeing you hold it up to the camera.
I love the process and the close-ups Denise! It really shows that you are a photographer. Look at all that texture! So many different textures! I love these! Then again, I love all of your art! Great work!💜💜💜
Absolutely love these two paintings! Pink and orange are some of my favorite colors together ❤ I freaked out a bit on the curtain stencil but it turned out cool when you revealed it all. Hahaha Love your channel!
I love all of the texture! I think the pink Posca dots were a very happy accident. I wasn’t sure about the stencil when you first brought it out, but good call. So pretty. Thank you and Happy Friday!
Love joining you on your art adventures. Great call on all mixed media choices! Interesting mesmerizing 3D effect. Thank you for sharing! Look forward to your next video. Have a great day and weekend.
Another colourful piece. Love it. I love your enthusiasm. I love my Kuratake paints. I’m a learner at 76 and you give me much courage. Question ..do you cover your paints when wet or let them dry and then close up the box?😊
Interesting ! These colors are way out of my comfort zone - I'm a blue/green kind of girl, lol - but this really pops! Beautiful! Perhaps an odd comment, but I also have to call out your manicure. Your hands always look so pretty in the videos! I especially like your nail polish shade today. :)

I keep most of the things I paint since I make videos... I store them in plastic art sleeves. Sometimes I need them to photograph and I use them as samples. Some I have framed in my house. I have given a few as gifts. My goal isn't to sell art - so I have not put them up for sale since I might need them again for something.

Maybe a UV fixative would protect colors longer. If you make a piece you truly love - I’d scan it into your computer so you could preserve it and have prints.
