@@jeremiemboma I think the joke is that since blue words on wikipedia are clickable links, meaning it leads to a page dedicated entirely to that specific word. So I guess since both of narutos parents turned out to not be complete randoms but very important, elite people of the society and important to the lore of Naruto verse. Therefore wikipedia dedicates entire separate pages to them. So when they appear on a random article, their names are usually highlighted blue. Kinda pointing out the hypocrisy in a meta way.
My favourite part of the series was when Sai, who worked under Danzo his entire life and knew nothing about human relationships, wanted to observe Naruto and Sasuke in order to understand what true friendship is. So he basically thinks friendship is the toxic love relationship that Naruto and Sasuke have.
I rewatched Naruto earlier this year and it made me happy when Sai was first introduced, and when Naruto said he wanted to "take" Sasuke back, Sai replied pointing out how Sasuke's basically a traitor and Naruto's being totally delusional. Too bad Kishi decided to water down Sai's personality later on
@Go Time Now I always wanted TenTen to go up against Pain. Her expertise would have been great against Pain's gravitation powers. Just constantly throw shit at him so he uses up all his power and you hit him when he's on his cooldown. They had a few bits of strategy earlier in the series but then it just became whoever has more magic points.... so disappointing.
Nah you completely miss the point if you think this video is truthful to the manga. You have ninja jesus saying "work as hard as you can for peace and forgiveness". I legit think that Mr. Ruto's childhood messed him up. You see people saying he just wanted attention, right? Pulling pranks, saying he was going to be Hokage just to get people to give him the time of day, etc... and then, finally, when he gets recognition and 'love' from the whole village, it's only because he's saved them all. So let's say that sticks with him majorly. Save the people, they like you. Saving is helping. Can't always be a Pein to beat to save, but you can help, so Naruto decides to keep everyone loving him, he'll HELP everyone. And that sad goal follows him into adulthood and poisons his relationship with his family, because even if he doesn't realize it, he's still the same attention hungry, family-deprived child he was when he was 12. Sweechie. Naruto thought smart. He foresaw the future of our political climate in the west and made a *recruit difficulty* button (sexy jutsu). Now all he needs to do is join twitch and be a titty streamer. 😁

Also a thing that really bothers me is how Naruto wanted to change the whole ninja system, how people are treated and ridiculed just beacuse they were born a certain way and were affected by factors outside of their control. But what does he do when he becomes hokage?? Absolutely nothing, he doesnt change anything and even becomes a shitty father. Honestly this manga had such great potential but its ruined by random bs and bad writing it just makes everything frustrating
Naruto even says to Neji at the end of the fight that he will change his destiny,NEJi'S destiny of being a slave forever. How? By changing the hyuga clan system once he will become hogake...but he doesn't,and neji dies as a slave. Just another example of something that Naruto said and has no resolution whatsoever. There are still slaves in the village, still child soldiers, ninja are still used as weapons (the whole teaching/lesson of haku & zabuza also goes no where). It's like the writer had great ideas but he didn't know how to execute them correctly, and connect them with the main plot in a coherent way. Naruto should've went travelling and see the world on his own before becoming hokage imo.
One more point that doesn't make sense: All the later power-ups aside, the people who run the village probably would have known about Naruto's heritage and the potential of leeching off of Kyubi's chakra, so they should have given him the hokage-training-treatment from the get-go. Instead, they let him waste away as a ramen-slurping loser? What a waste of resources!

But Naruto in the last arc did nothing but deny the circle of reincarnation and make up with Sasuke, despite their "fate" being to fight to the death. And if you're talking about the frog's prophecy, it was changed twice in one arc, so it's not really a set-in-stone fate marker.
Bratanov I think that was Kishimoto's intention but he didn't convey that well Considering the frog's prophecy was never for them to "fight to the death" but it was more "you'll fight somebody with op eye abilities" Like nothing Naruto did necessarily "went against fate" considering the exact same thing happened in one Hashirsma and Madaras battle where they just kissed and madeup and ruled over the village for a while.
By "fight to the death" part I meant the reincarnation of Indra and Ashura part, not the frog's prophecy. The frog's prophecy changed when 1)Jiraya made a choice to send Naruto the message before his death, and 2)When Naruto chose to convince Nagato instead of beating him, after which the frog said that he didn't expect there to be two "children of prophecy". And your example with Hashirama and Madara doesn't make a lot of sense, since they eventually DID fight to the death, fulfilling the prophecy. It was never stated that their first fight would be the one.
The problem with Naruto is that it proposes a hypothesis and then continues to prove that hypothesis wrong as the show progresses, but still seems to be under the illusion that it’s proving it right. Yes, hard work was necessary for Naruto to get where he did after a point, but he also couldn’t have done it without a hell of a lot of luck, prime genetics, and political connections he did not solely earn but gained by virtue of his parentage. It’s like when a millionaire’s child calls themself self-made when they only got where they were because they started with their parents’ money and connections. Yes, he did do far more with those things than others might have in his position, and he did suffer plenty in his childhood, but that does not mean his hypothesis and the hypothesis of the entire series was proven wrong through him. It reeks of nepo baby trying to justify how they earned their position by saying they had to work hard for it. Just because you worked hard, doesn’t mean you started on an even playing field with everyone else. You had privileges and advantages others could only dream of and you would not have made it to where you are without them unless you got incredibly, miraculously lucky. That’s the story of Natuto and it’s telling that he doesn’t realize this himself, but Sasuke and Neji have since day one. Naruto didn’t prove Neji wrong in their chunin exam fight, he proved himself wrong and made Neji’s point for him, all while believing he did the opposite. Big face-palm moment right there.
1. Neji talks about destiny and how everyone has a predetermined fate. Naruto disagrees with this and explains that destiny shouldn't be used as a crutch to be a jerk, like Neji is when attempting to murder Hinata or talking down to Naruto himself. 2. So was Neji right? Everyone seems to think so, but why? Is it because Naruto is the child of prophecy? Well, it was stated that the child of prophecy would either bring peace to the world OR destroy it. The simple fact that Naruto has both agency and a choice in the outcome already puts Neji's values on shaky ground. 3. BUT! You still disagree with me. Why? Because Naruto is the reincarnation of Ashura? Well, that's funny because, as Ashura's reincarnation, Naruto is destined to meet and battle with Indra's reincarnation, Sasuke. Now Ashura did hope that a future incarnation of himself could resolve things peacefully, but his intention doesn't matter as his actions contributed to a cycle that the Sage of Six Paths feared would continue when Sasuke wanted to have his final battle with Naruto. 4. DESTINY ITSELF, the concept Neji spoke about, ordained that Naruto(as Ashura's reincarnation) would do battle with Sasuke(Indra's reincarnation), and continue the cycle of hatred. This path where the two could potentially kill each other might have very well been the catalyst that pushed Naruto to fulfill the evil side of his prophecy in destroying the world(among other things), made even more evident with the treatment he received growing up as a Jinchuriki(that made him hate the world back for a time), and the antagonist that reflected his character(challenging his views, and in some cases, trying to make Naruto fall as low as they did).

😊 I totally disagree with his criticism of Naruto being lazy and a hypocrite. In fact, I believe that Naruto has put in a tremendous amount of effort within his capabilities. He seem to have forgotten that Naruto is an orphan who has been living on his own. Have he taken a look at his classmates? Do he think they are putting in more effort than Naruto? What motivates them to work hard? It's because they have parents and siblings to support them in practicing ninjutsu. Do he think Shikamaru invented the Shadow Possession Jutsu on his own? It was his father who guided him. In the show, it's shown that Sasuke's brother would practice shuriken techniques with him and even guided him in the Fireball Jutsu. Other classmates have family members teaching them ninjutsu, like Hinata and Neji training together in their family dojos. As for calling Naruto lazy and not striving to learn ninjutsu, can you imagine having to study on your own without anyone to encourage or guide you? It's a painful situation. I believe that growing up in a self-motivated and self-learned environment, Naruto has worked relatively hard. Imagine coming home to an empty house and having no one to help you with difficult math problems or no one to supervise your homework. your grades are bound to suffer. Considering Naruto's growth environment with no guidance or training from anyone, isn't it natural that his ninja skills and techniques would appear to be inferior to those of his classmates?. And don't forget, when he was learning the Rasengan, there wasn't a day when he was lazing around. There were times when he practiced until he collapsed in the forest and then woke up to continue training. Does that sound lazy to you? Furthermore, it's absurd to accuse him of being a hypocrite. Naruto has a strong moral compass. Apart from playing pranks, he hardly ever did anything wrong. He's essentially a good-hearted and kind young man. He's willing to sacrifice himself to protect his friends and the village. In simple terms, if you were in danger and asked for Naruto's help, he would definitely shed blood to save you. How does that make him a hypocrite? He'd only be a hypocrite " IF " he was saving people just for the cash or for the fame. I believe that Naruto act of saving his friends and the villagers is absolutely selfless and just doing the right thing , If you really insist on repaying him , maybe just treating him to a bowl of ramen would be more than enough...your evidence for calling him a hypocrite because you think he's lazy Additionally, you seem to criticize Naruto for relying on the Nine-Tails' power. What's wrong with that? As long as he uses it for good deeds, isn't that what matters? For instance, if he saves your life, would you really care if he used the Nine-Tails' power instead of his own abilities? As long as his actions are virtuous, who cares if he relies on the Nine-Tails?

Naruto emphasizes the other person's values and plans by saying, 'That is wrong, and I will try to break the chain of hatred,' but he himself does not mention at all where and how the plan is wrong or how to create true peace. He just keep repeating empty cries of "You're wrong! I'm right, trust me!" and when that doesn't work, instead of a logical rebuttal, he just appeals to emotions like "You wanted to become Hokage too."
Not really. The standard Rinnegan does give some pretty powerful abilities, which could be why only 2 people were shown to unlock it as opposed to being given someone else's eyes, however it's not as if it makes someone omnipotent for example.
Telekinesis, soul steal, summoning, healing, energy absorption, telekinesis, and the asura path basically gives you every other generic superpower if you use it creatively
@@eidolon1407 Well, the Deva path can more accurately be described as control of gravitational force (although the anime does take some liberties with this concept) and experienced Rinnegan users like Nagato have been shown to be able to fly using this path. The Ashura path can only do 2 things; create extra body parts ie arms, extra faces, etc. (to more closely resemble the Ashura of Hindu and Buddhist teachings) and use of traditional weaponry ie blades, explosives, lasers. End of Pain arc, Kurama DID take over, Minato simply reversed the process 4. Say that to someone who survived a near death situation and see if they came out of it perfectly fine(this point was kinda stupid) 5. Sakura got harmed 6. If Naruto didn't have Kurama, he would have lived a normal life away from the bullshit that was the main story I'm jot saying that the 9 Tails WASNT a benefit, I'm just tired of people saying that the drawbacks was miniscule in comparison.
2:30 You know that Kishimoto is running out of ideas or just being lazy when a lot of characters in the series feels more like a Naruto rather than giving them a whole new different personality.
Can't agree more... Rock Lee and Neji deserved the development that Naruto and Sasuke had It's sad to see that is going to happen again with Boruto being the protagonist instead of Himawari in this new generation, always letting interesting characters in secondary roles... *sigh*
Considering both Naruto and Sasuke actually stole Lee's Taijutsu in order to get where they are now. You aren't wrong. If they had never fought an opponent like Lee. They never would've realized the importance of Taijutsu and speed.
Neji was born in the second strongest clan and rock lee has unbelieveable talent in tai-jutsu (no idea how to write it). Everbody in naruto is born strong.
@Itachi Is superior to you , if Kishimoto was just going to have Sasuke and Naruto being descendants of Alien Gods from the Moon then I think that the series should have ended with Sasuke and Itachi killing all of the villages.
@Itachi Is superior to you , hell the conflicts of war ending the series in Peace ☮️ ✌️ with Sasuke, Itachi, and the rest of the Akatsuki would have made the series a much better series to watch, read, and play than in Naruto Shippuden all the way to the current Boruto Arc, and I’d be even fine if they wanted to do a series like Boruto with the Akatsuki then I’d be throwing out endless money to Kishimoto until he dies of old age with his endless wealth.
Naruto is full of plot-holes that condemned the show to me. Like, everyone during his childhood avoids him for being like the murderer monster itself but when he grows up no obe realizes he always had this power? God damn Kishimoto
All of the parents told their kids to stay away from him. Most, if not all, kids were never taught that he had the 9 tales. The 3rd Hokage made it illegal to talk about it.
maybe thats why he is the comic relief character in naruto universe. a subtle statement showing that hard work is a joke and in order to make significant impact in life, you need to be destined for greatness, a reincarnation of someone great in the past, and craft the ultimate power known as Talk No Jutsu. screw hard work, babe
You do realized that destiny still doesn't define everything right? The series even blatantly spells out that naruto and sasuke defied destiny by being the first time indra and ashura overcame thier conflict. It still shows that destiny can be defied.
@@Nunmanji Yeah, I get that, but that doesn't change everything else about the series on how destiny is the one thing that made everything happen in the series. Hard work, the main message of the series, is ultimately made pointless because destiny and natural talent wins out overall.
Nunmanji naruto being some sort of prophecy child is what prove that destiny and fate are legit the sage of 6 path literally confirm that when naruto was holding hands with all the tailed beasts
Alex Kennard Don't let this distract you from the fact that IDGAF what BS eye power Kakashi has Might Guy (the objectively hardest working person in the series) will always be stronger than Kakashi That stupid plotline with the mainguy teleporting back to the living world never happened
Neji: You can't change your destiny. Naruto: No, you're wrong. We can change our own destiny Later Neji: *dies while protecting the main family basically fulfilling his destiny* Naruto: *the chosen child*, *Incarnation of Asura*, *child of the fourth hokage*, and *the child of prophecy* Neji: Dude... uncool
Also one thing that is worth to mention when it comes to the whole Hard Work vs. Talent debate is this, hard work beats talent until talent works hard.
naruto is like, the biggest missed potential of all time. It is and was such a juggernaught for it's iconography and helped kick start anime in the west. But man, a story about ninjas and their tactics and fighting upwards as an underdog really flew out the window early on. The whole point of real life ninjas was to fight back as an under dog, they had something good going for a while there. A shame it had to die as a second rate machismo magical girl show with extra fighting. Really, naruto was primed for 2 other core ideals instead of hard work trumping natural talent. Never giving up, and fighting with your demons. I use to think that narutos whiskers on hisface, and his instant mastery with shadow clones was a subtle hint that he was not fully human. The fox was literally a part of him, and made up part of his personality and power set. It's initially why he could use the sexy jutsu so effortlessly, because historically the nine tailed fox would take on the shape of a beautiful woman to lead people astray to their doom. The fox didn't need naruto, but naruto needed the fox because it was a part of his soul. If it were removed, we would no longer have naruto. No shadow clones, no sexy jutsu, and his personality would essentially be gone. Just a husk. But the damn fox is evil. Before they strong armed the whole madara bullshit in, it attacked the village cuz it was a bastard that wanted to murder. Sealing it away in a helpless naked baby was a last resort, and they had to raise the devil child cuz if it dies then the demon comes back. Everyone hates naruto for what he is but they tolerate him because they have to so they can not be murdered by a giant evil fox. My pet theory was that in a world of secrecy, misdirection, poison, or off the wall berserk figheters, naruto was a balance of technique and raw power, his clones literally being a technique manifestation of his mastery over ninja magic and his willingness to do something 100 times as many times as the next guy. Him experiencing what his clones do should have been a key point of the narrative from day one I don't know where the hell this Dragon ball hard work message became the point of the series when it's extremely not true. Hell, Lee was both the proof that hard work pays off, and a caution about recklessly working hard. His extreme attitude nearly got him killed against gara because while his extreme efforts went a long ways, he was not prepared for every scenario, meaning you can't just throw the best punch and win. Naruto had the technique, tools, and ability to think on the fly to make up for what the rock lee brute force and training couldn't. But then it turned into happy kingdom hearts magical slap fight "it was all a part of the plan" now face my high numbered whooshy whooshy magic powers oh my persona will fix everything without a care in the world. At least the merch and branding was cool. The world feel is really the selling point of naruto
1. "Hard work trumps talent" was the central theme for the chunin exams and the goal Lee aspires to 2. "Overcoming one's Hatred/Destiny to further understand one another" is the overarching theme of the series as well as something Naruto needed to do(its why he has the infamous "talk no jutsu") 3. Almost every arc in the series had its own theme to follow, but as stated above, the main theme of the series definitely isn't about hard work trumping talent(you would have a better argument for "hard work", but you all get SUPER specific that it NEEDS to trump talent) 4.If you thought the MC was going to follow what is essentially Lee's theme(who LOST against Gaara in the Chunin Exams) when he has the 9 Tails(that he used against Neji that same arc), then we will just have to agree to disagree
1. Naruto vs. Kakuzu, Pain, and Obito 2. Sasuke vs. Deidara, Itachi, and Danzo 3. Sakura vs. Sasori These fights and many others used a great deal of strategy and deception throughout shippuden. Plus, OG Naruto had: 1. 4th Hokage vs 9 Tails 2. Naruto vs Gaara 3. Sannin 3 way deadlock These were basically Kaiju fights. OG and Shippuden aren't that different(besides the aliens, of course).
Sorry but DBZ got anime popular in the west in the late 90s. Naruto honestly felt like it was riding coattails off DBZ success.. you have Naruto who is basically Goku and you have Saskue who is Vegeta and the only two characters that matter are those two sound familiar. And they aren’t exact copies but very similar characters.
@Sweet Dreams Exactly. Society is full of hypocrites when it comes to hate and revenge. And people complain about how bad the world is when they are the problems themselves Narutotards in general are the reason misanthropes exist
Idk for some reason some part of me wished that sasuke destroyed the hidden leaf they are all a bunch of hypocrites after discriminating uchihas causes so many wars sending children to fight them they consider themselves noble heroes and every other village are shown in a bar light
What's funny is the fact that, as you said, one of the main messages of Naruto was to prove that through hard work, one can achieve anything, but half of the cast of Naruto didn't get the chance to achieve anything even despite having the drive and putting in the work because Kishimoto sidelined half of the cast, so they couldn't have ever gotten the chance to do anything they dreamed of as a result. Hell, there was even a whole filler episode (I can't remember which episode or the name of it, so don't ask lmao) that really showcased how what's supposed to be the point of Naruto isn't actually true and that hard work won't really get you anywhere if you aren't naturally talented or talented enough to where you'd at least be average. Hypocrisy at its finest lmao
Kishimoto never wanted any of those characters. He just wanted the series to be about Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke going on missions around the world before his editors made him do a tournament arc instead.

@@thewiseyounglad2699 1. Yes and it makes Lee more interesting as a character and they were doing with Naruto to a degree, yet Naruto has never had to work for anything. 2. It's ridiculous it works especially on certain villains that wouldn't care what Naruto has to say/dead set on their goals/are beyond redemption. 3. Yeah because it's depressing for a show to say "some people are born better and you shouldn't try", especially in battle Shonen. Plus it definitely is somewhat when Naruto is an outcast with no real training so his success SHOULD be a triumph against all odds but instead he's born special. 4. It's a better theme and still works with Naruto's backstory 4.
@Lionard Kirsch I still think his death was pointless because they're probably hundreds of different ways a writer could have set them up. The story just used the easiest and most dramatic way. Neji died for drama although I have to admit I liked seeing his goofy ghost.
@Lionard Kirsch true but I still like that hospital scene. Having no regrets despite what happen makes Gai the biggest badass in Naruto. But if it was only his leg that was busted couldn't the doctors just amputate the leg and just give him a new one like how Naruto got a new arm?
@UCPqVBnv3A-pdxzpwaHX67xw Neji should have died protecting Lee. Both of them would have sacrificed themselves for the other but Neji was quicker at the draw symbolically winning their rivalry. Also kill off Ino cause I don't care about her don't care about her son and mind control wouldn't help her in the war. I would say Sakura but the series would try to make you feel sorry that she died and I don't want her to get anymore screen time so she can just disappear.
@ITS bullzie Exactly. Shippuden completely destroyed the message with poor writing. In part 1, power creep was low and jinchuriki, kekkai genkai weren't so op. While they were exclusive sources of power, having one wasnt a requirement to he great. With skill and strategy you could overcome 'empowered' individuals as seen with shikamaru fights, lees fights and even zabuza vs kakashi. In narutos case, kyuubi was a detriment as it was the reason for his poor chakra control. And with naruto being a child, him being the hokage to be acknowledged was believable. And then with haku and then with sasuke you see naruto starting to grow... end of part one was pretty good. The problem is part 2. You would think with narutos new found resolve he would have educated himself. He doesn't really learn. Then kishimoto made naruto a mary sue into having all these abilities and trainers. It would have been more compelling if naruto had to claw to power like kabuto. Naruto started out as an underdog, but he lost that title when kishimoto made him over powered
just realizing naruto's story could've been completed if he just becomes like Jiraiya, traveling the world learning more about the people and himself and possibly being a writer instead of being a hokage
Ikr. Like the simple fact that naruto didn't want revenge on the leaf despite how the village treated him, and the fact that he wanted to be hokage, really annoyed me. His goal should've been " to become the strongest, so I can be acknowledged by everyone, " because I don't think the strongest ninja in the village would be sitting at a desk doing paperwork.
@@hibakhan692I think you miss the part that he becomes strong through the power of bonds and he wants to protect that bonds. He sees the village as his family so doing desk job isn’t too far from being a dad
I feel the need to throw Orochimaru into the ring of Hard Work. While he was born very intelligent, all of his crazy powers were created by his hard work, none of that bullshit madness was just handed to him. He used the power of SCIENCE! magic to improve himself rather than simply being born a freaky snake man.
And the problem is that the bad writing got him too, since all his plans always fails. The only time he shows how powerful he is, is in the fight at the bridge against the 4/5 tails foxy, but even then he had to ran away because he wasn't powerful enough to fight against the half-baked 9 tails. The series always portraits him as a legendary powerful Villain, but he always seems more like a cartoon villain that the powers are capped that is doomed to always fail like Dr. Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb
Sai: **Makes fun of Naruto’s balls** Naruto: I hate you Obito: **The reason why both Naruto and Sasuke’s childhoods were a living hell** Also Naruto: You are the coolest!
@@hellothere10yearsago97 Or *Kakashi, his teacher who he’s grown close to for the last few years dies* Naruto: meh *Hinata, a girl he’s never had a complete conversation with dies* Naruto: 6 tails
Something I 've always found very confusing is the jinchuriki tail power system. If the 10 tailed beast (juubi) was divided into 10 beasts to weaken it that would mean that every beast including juubi itself should have 1 tail each (because 10 tails divided by 10 beasts equals 1 tail each). The issue is that Shukaku has 1 tail, Matatabi 2 tails, Isobu 3 tails, Son Goku 4 tails, Kokuo 5 tails, Saiken 6 tails, Chomei 7 tails, Gyuki 8 tails and Kurama has 9, which collectively equals 55 tails including juubi. It gets even more confusing since Kurama was revealed to have been "split in half" by Minato before he sealed half inside of Naruto and the other half inside himself. Again this was done to inhibit the beasts power (because the shows logic is that the more tails a beast has the greater its power is.) So why is it that both Kuramas had 9 tails each if 9 divided by 2 equals 4.5 ? All of this would mean: 1. that the beasts were not weakened but had even greater power than they originally had 2. When Naruto absorbed all of the tailed beasts including the other half of Kurama he should have the power of not 10 but instead of 73 tails. So wtf was the point of it all...
I always understood it as the Juubi was divided in half. One half was Kurama (9 tails), the other half was AGAIN divided in half to create Gyuuki (8 tails), the other half got divided again and so on. It would make sense for the Juubi to be 10 tails following this type of division. Though this way does makes Shukaku and Matatabi equal in power, so IDK
In jinchuuriki sense it would also mean that even if every jinchuuriki uses 1 tail of power, Naruto/Kurama's 1 tail would still be more powerfull than all the others, in the sense of quantity of chakra.
Also Naruto having only one half of Kurama sealed inside of him is kinda... hard to make sense, becasue if we follow the idea that I used before it would mean that he has the same quantity of chakra as would Bee/Gyuuki. Although it gets even harder to explain cause he only has the yang chakra of Kurama and Bee has the whole of Gyuuki's chakra (yin and yang)... The Naruto series doesn't really follow much the whole yin and yang thing, you could theoretically try to say that Naruto only has the yang Kurama so he only has those properties but as I said the series doesn't really use that for more than 'genjutsu is yin based and blahblah'
the reason of thoese consistency is simple really, its retcon my guess is that the juubi is not planned from the start,or even until later on shipudden, same with the detail of how minato sealed kurama unlike one piece, nartuo doesnt exactly have cleaar end game so kishimoto is just winging the detail
It's even more than that, like Plague says, He's the reincarnation of a christ analog - fitting because even the fan base calls Nardo and Sauce "The super jesus brothers" after the ending of shippuden.
That's a good analysis,he does work hard though, much more than other side characters (except Lee maybe) so him earning the fruits of that is understandable.
@@DarkAuraLord You know how hard it is to he a christ figure? Try having no friends, and even though you're helping everyone, they still resent you. Keep that up for a few decades see how easy and plot armor filled it is. Naruto had no joke the hardest life, and the highest chance of failure, his upbeat attitude in the face of what he was encountering throughout his childhood is a miracle in itself and why he succeeded more than the nine tails and plot armor. So did sasuke his life was a living nightmare. Great pain enables that great destiny by contrast but only if you can turn it into growth which they did, but that isn't like a plot guarantee naruto and sasuke could have failed at any point but didn't because they never gave up not cause of priveledges afforded them.
His father gave him a small loan of 9 million chakra. Plus the reincarnation of Ninja Jesus's son. Plus related to three of the other hokage Plus related to literal royalty Plus the Uzumaki bloodline Neji was right about fate determining everything, no matter how much Naruto (both the character and the series) claimed otherwise. He just didn't know Naruto had the most ridiculous pedigree in the entire series
Naruto at the beginning: Hard work beats talent, nothing is pre-destined. Naruto at the end: Everything was pre-destined, Naruto is a demi-god and the reincarnation of the creator of the ninja world.
@Go Time Now Dont get me wrong i like naruto but i agree with the retcons it has but stop hyping one piece up i might be a little biased when im critising one piece because i slept through half of the episodes but it has hella retcons
On the bright side in the end they change destiny, ever so slightly. Lol. Cause the reincarnations of Indra and Ashura were destined to fight forever, Naruto and Sasuke broke the cycle. Really the only plot point the show hits. All the other ones were dropped for god powers and destiny.
This was pretty cathartic to watch, embodies all the issues I have with the show. Also I must say one thing, Gaara might be the best written character that wasn't thrown into trash for the sake of the main duo. He was psychotic, lost a fight that forced him to listen, he took the advice and worked his ass off to overcome the mental torment and became someone good without being destined for it.
Gaara as a concept is great, but his character arc was lazily written. How does a character with heaps of trauma go from being a psycho who kills others for sport to become all good just because the MC talked to him? It makes no sense. If you're gonna try to redeem a character like that, make it make sense! Gaara had the potential to become a raw ass villain though.
@@NotDaveGahan Fair but he's barely a secondary character so I let it pass, shinobi do have to mature fast by the world rules but some break those more than others anyway.
Gaara is literally Naruto if he's written right. They both have similar backstories, but the plot is written to not make Gaara having privilege. He has to work hard to be someone that is being respected (by being empathetic). The plus point is Gaara didn't contradict himself
@@user-cb3cj4kz1l ugh i see self-insert naruto fans here. Okay, what you said about him being kind is right, but as the story went, kishi's writing on naruto contradicted to what naruto is first introduced to us. Naruto taught us that hard work beats talent, but kishi's writing as time goes by we learn that naruto has infamous ninja bloodline, the political allies who knew his family. Hard work? Nah, Naruto was born with talent and connection already
#Sonu sharma he got elected NOT because he can punch better than his opponents. Here the difference. Tsunade also didn’t have any of “president education” she just heal very well and punch really strong. That’s all.)
Funnily enough, though, it's a thing IRL too. It's called "Peter's principle". After all, in the army, you COULD be promoted in rank thanks to your merits in battle... thus ending up commanding more and fighting less, and the moment you won't be promoted any more is either when you die or when you start being incompetent at your new job.
Yeah I never got that either. A Kage is usually supposed to be the best ninja in the village and a person people expect to protect the village if it's in danger but the Kage has to be the one stuck in the office doing all the paperwork. When Pain attacked the village Tsunade didn't even fight him. Everyone else did and most of them died and the village got destroyed
Yeah like seriously. The end fight was. Sasuke: I have cooler red eye Madara: but I have circle grey! Sasuke fucking dies. Naruto: I have cool eye of foxtoad. Madara: *CIRCLE GRAY* Naruto fucking dies. Sasuke and naruto come back with better eyes. Madara: I have grey circle eye! Sasuke: I have a combination of your and my own eyes! Naruto: I have art on my palm! Madara fucking dies.
Grounded analysis of these detached power fantasy animes are fascinating, Eli is that guy that offers a sane perspective when everyone either goes off the rails or buys into the hype for better or worse he is consistent, Love these style of videos.
To play a bit of devil's advocate here, his political connection to Tsunade seems to be 100% earned. He debated her, made a wager, then won that wager while simultaneously saving her life and helping her overcome her traumas. He also didn't use any dog power during this process except to gain a few extra hours of training time. The only inherent advantage I see here is that he was introduced by Jiraiya, but Tsunade didn't seem to be swayed very much by that fact. Overall, Naruto's political connection to Tsunade could have been fairly earned by absolutely anybody who was placed at the same dinner table as her.
@@ClashBluelight He always more or less had political connections to her though. When they first met she clearly stated that he looked as bad/dumb as Jaraia's last apprentice IE his father. The only reason he was sitting across from her at that table and with Jaraia in the first place was because he was a Hokage's son. So it comes full circle.
I would like to add that Naruto's society pretends that men are women are (at least somewhat) equal. Yet, we almost never see a female character amount to anything. The function of the few female characters is simply to be tokens that hold the enemy until the products-of-divine-eugenics-and-magical-eye-science male leads arrive. Even Tsunade who is one of the more decent female characters is completely overshadowed by Jiraya and Orochimaru. Even Conan is a little more than a henchman to Nagato. I wouldn't have had problem if the author wanted to explore a pre-modern society where not everyone is equal. However, that is simply not the case in Naruto where everyone is happily working together. Once again, the story pretends that it has a message of equality and "hard work and ambition always triumph" while always demonstrating the contrary. Chiyo is prolly the only exception I can think off (the final boss doesn't really count). That's prolly because she isn't a cute anime girl designed for r34 purposes and an actual character.
@Dracozauryks bozo u literally comparing Konan a low to mid kage tier character to pain who is low to mid demi-god and expect her not to be overshadowed ? tsunade maybe would've been more powerfu lif shedidn't go on to drink and gamble all day after losing faith after dan and her brother died
kishimoto has admitted that he can't write female characters. which i struggle to sympathize with when, unless you're wanting to explore themes about gender (which naruto isn't), it is literally as simple as "just write the gd character and don't care about what's inbetween their legs"
People saying the theme is to overcome the cycle of hatred, but the only character that represents that is *Haku* despite being the antagonist of the show..
I don’t think it’s the cycle of hatred only either It’s between gaining power through forming bonds or cutting them away. Madara, Indra and sasuke gained their power by casting away their bonds, with the uchiha unlocks their strongest power from killing their closest aide and injecting themselves with their kin’s eye. Ashura and naruto gained their power through connecting with more people. As naruto meet more people, he gains more power. There is also sub plot too like a world of dreams and lies against the brutal world of harsh reality. This one in particular is the one I’m mad about because introducing kaguya and aliens essentially killed this one. For pain arc it was whether a peaceful yet dictatorial world built on fear is the right world. For gaara and kurama it was hatred and having someone that reach out to you. If you watch when kurama finally accepts naruto, you can see the flashback of all of his “controller” before. All of them either are fearful of him and either wants to use him for their own good or lock and distant him while naruto was the only one ever to reach out and wanting to help him. I don’t think this show has ever been about hard work beating talent and Lee lost against gaara should have already made it clear that in this world, hard work can only get so far. It’s actually probably the most cynical view that the author is secretly putting there.
@@mvmsma it's a minor antagonist who actively overcomes hatred... Pain just kinda gave up .., Obito changed his mind twice ... Sasuke overcoming his hatred was really watered down .
So jiraiya, kakashi, and hiruzen all had a great relationship with Minato, but completley ignores his orphan son, it also baffles me how hiruzen says that he'll take care of naruto but all he did was put a roof over his head. Like at least put him in a orphan system or some shit. And jyria was so close to minato, he could've raised his son (who was named after a character in one of jyria's books) but no instead he was to busy "researching".
I agree with you, but kakashi or jiraiya taking care of naruto wouldnt make much sense in my opinion, it's out of character, especially for horny jiraiya. He's just a talented ninja who has little to no morals and is always drunk hahaha.
@@potxtoe Kakashi might would've done it and it not be out of character. Going off flashbacks, it's very weird that he didn't do it. It also makes no sense that no one told Naruto who his parents were. It's almost as if all that backstory was Asspull No Jutsu
I don’t think being in a orphanage would have been good for him. I mean, he was in one when he was a baby. But being in a place run by people who hate/despise you mustn’t have been great for him.
@@CassidyStarke Once all the backstory came out for Naruto, it didn't make *any* sense for people to hate him. Kurama was sealed into him in secret, so only a few know about it, and he's the son of the most beloved Hokage up until that point. . It's not like Gaara whose mom died in childbirth and was constantly hurting people, because wasn't the son of a master of sealing techniques and is not of a powerful jinchuuriki host bloodline(Uzumaki can cling to live awhile after their beast is removed, but everyone else dies immediately). . Naruto doesn't hurt anyone and there's literally no reason to be mean to him or blame him for the incident that incident, especially since Uchiha were also blamed for it
InfernosReaper I’m also not 100% how people found out. But it’s not that hard to piece together, I mean there were people around still. I mean the 9 tails attacks the village, 4th and wife fight, 9 tails disappears, all there is left is a baby. I’m guessing is that most found out but were either afraid to say something, of knew not to.
the two characters that embody the themes of naruto are sakura and lee, neither of which come from a special bloodline, both having to work for everything they have
It's funny how Rock Lee was miles above anybody at that tournament. Nobody there stood a chance against him, every other fight after that looked like a kindergarten play.
Even when I was a teenager I could figure out that Naruto was explicitly targeted at rich kids with no special skills at all. The ninja training is an analogy of a military academy, minus of course the boring uniforms and the stupidity. There's of course Naruto, who's a terrible student, who gets assigned to a team with Sakura and Sasuke, both smarter than him. As the show progresses, what happens? Sakura, even though initially gifted, takes on a passive role, and Sasuke turns out evil, while Naruto gets bailed out by his hidden power in every fight no matter how stupid he is, and in the end everything works out and he becomes Hokage anyway. The message is clear as water. As long as you were born in an influencial family, you will eventually reach power if you wait long enough. Don't worry, you can do stupid things and all will be fine, the smart kids at school will only take a secondary role or cause trouble. Although I respect Kishimoto-sensei for his dedication and ability, it's so obvious that what he did was create a story to justify the power of privileged and lazy bureaucrats. The only surprise is that you need to make a video to call it out lol.

naruto against neji : fate is stupid lol
naruto in the last arc : you're the child of prophecy naruto , it was your fate to be here
That's why he had to die my guy.
Fate was Right
But Naruto in the last arc did nothing but deny the circle of reincarnation and make up with Sasuke, despite their "fate" being to fight to the death. And if you're talking about the frog's prophecy, it was changed twice in one arc, so it's not really a set-in-stone fate marker.
Bratanov I think that was Kishimoto's intention but he didn't convey that well
Considering the frog's prophecy was never for them to "fight to the death" but it was more "you'll fight somebody with op eye abilities"
Like nothing Naruto did necessarily "went against fate" considering the exact same thing happened in one Hashirsma and Madaras battle where they just kissed and madeup and ruled over the village for a while.
1. "Hard work trumps talent" was the central theme for the chunin exams and the goal Lee aspires to
2. "Overcoming one's Hatred/Destiny to further understand one another" is the overarching theme of the series as well as something Naruto needed to do(its why he has the infamous "talk no jutsu")
3. Almost every arc in the series had its own theme to follow, but as stated above, the main theme of the series definitely isn't about hard work trumping talent(you would have a better argument for "hard work", but you all get SUPER specific that it NEEDS to trump talent)
4. If you thought the MC was going to follow what is essentially Lee's theme(who LOST against Gaara in the Chunin Exams) when he has the 9 Tails(that he used against Neji that same arc), then we will just have to agree to disagree.
I believe that Naruto act of saving his friends and the villagers is absolutely selfless and just doing the right thing , If you really insist on repaying him , maybe just treating him to a bowl of ramen would be more than enough...your evidence for calling him a hypocrite because you think he's lazy
Additionally, you seem to criticize Naruto for relying on the Nine-Tails' power. What's wrong with that? As long as he uses it for good deeds, isn't that what matters? For instance, if he saves your life, would you really care if he used the Nine-Tails' power instead of his own abilities? As long as his actions are virtuous, who cares if he relies on the Nine-Tails?
@@user-cb3cj4kz1lJesus Christ ,man .The story of Naruto himself is being referred as one that is hypocritical in nature in the video .Not necessarily the character itself regardless of how poorly written it is and the fact that logical and persuasive arguements can be made in favour of Naruto being a hypocrite himself

The Rinnegan is like when your friend said that his superpower was that he had ALL the superpowers
This but unironically LMFAO
Eric Cartman´s super power when they played Ninjas
The Rinnegan does give some generic super powers, invisibility is one such example, however most exist outside of the Ashura path.

No matter how much you twist it, Kurama is an advantage to Naruto rather than a hindrance since the start of the series. If you want an inner demon who actually makes the MC's life worse, watch Jujutsu Kaisen.
@NotDaveGahan 1. TECHNICALLY Kuruma killed Naruto's parents with his nail. Forgiving Kurama was something Naruto HAD to do unless he be made a hypocrite with his whole "cycle of hatred speech"(didn't even forgive him for a while, they wuite literally had to join hands cuz tge alternative was worse)
2. Naruto's isolation affected him until the Pain arc(that ends when he saves the village), and left him with emotional issues he had to work out after that when he had to train to master the 9 Tails chakra
3. End of Pain arc, Kurama DID take over, Minato simply reversed the process
4. Say that to someone who survived a near death situation and see if they came out of it perfectly fine(this point was kinda stupid)
5. Sakura got harmed
6. If Naruto didn't have Kurama, he would have lived a normal life away from the bullshit that was the main story

Him experiencing what his clones do should have been a key point of the narrative from day one
I don't know where the hell this Dragon ball hard work message became the point of the series when it's extremely not true.

Cuz he wanted to rip-off Dragon Ball so badly with his own Goku and Vegeta
Kishimoto never wanted any of those characters. He just wanted the series to be about Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke going on missions around the world before his editors made him do a tournament arc instead.
@@theking8347 Yeah but he made those characters interesting anyway and sacked Sakura anyway
4. If you thought the MC was going to follow what is essentially Lee's theme(who LOST against Gaara in the Chunin Exams) when he has the 9 Tails(that he used against Neji that same arc), then we will just have to agree to disagree...
4. It's a better theme and still works with Naruto's backstory
4.
I dislike how Naruto is willing to brush Konoha's wrongdoings under the rug
Did I really just watch all 42 minutes of Naruto getting roasted?
Yes I did, lol.
naruto is a tough main character to follow and neji fuck they killed neji for no reason
@Lionard Kirsch I still think his death was pointless because they're probably hundreds of different ways a writer could have set them up. The story just used the easiest and most dramatic way. Neji died for drama although I have to admit I liked seeing his goofy ghost.
@Lionard Kirsch yeah if anything more characters should have died. It's a war Damn it!

@ITS bullzie
I mean. It's more of a commentary of kishimoto's waning writing quality. The power creep was ridiculous by the end of the series
@ITS bullzie
Exactly.

I feel the need to throw Orochimaru into the ring of Hard Work. While he was born very intelligent, all of his crazy powers were created by his hard work, none of that bullshit madness was just handed to him. And the problem is that the bad writing got him too, since all his plans always fails. The only time he shows how powerful he is, is in the fight at the bridge against the 4/5 tails foxy, but even then he had to ran away because he wasn't powerful enough to fight against the half-baked 9 tails. “A magic dead mother shield”💀💀
All of this would mean:
1. that the beasts were not weakened but had even greater power than they originally had
The amount of tails has nothing to do with power. 9 just has the most out of the bunch due to "hatred" being its source of power or some stupid shit.
the reason of thoese consistency is simple really, its retcon
my guess is that the juubi is not planned from the start,or even until later on shipudden, same with the detail of how minato sealed kurama
unlike one piece, nartuo doesnt exactly have cleaar end game so kishimoto is just winging the detail
Naruto is basically a dead rich man’s son who says he works hard (which he does), but the inheritance money helps A LOT

Having potential is not equal to being powerful.
Gaara is literally Naruto if he's written right. They both have similar backstories, but the plot is written to not make Gaara having privilege. He has to work hard to be someone that is being respected (by being empathetic). The plus point is Gaara didn't contradict himself
@@user-cb3cj4kz1l ugh i see self-insert naruto fans here. Dude I literally spit taked reading this.
"His political connections give him the best training money can buy." Holy shit.
It's facts though
At least it's realistic
To play a bit of devil's advocate here, his political connection to Tsunade seems to be 100% earned. He debated her, made a wager, then won that wager while simultaneously saving her life and helping her overcome her traumas. He also didn't use any dog power during this process except to gain a few extra hours of training time. The only inherent advantage I see here is that he was introduced by Jiraiya, but Tsunade didn't seem to be swayed very much by that fact. Overall, Naruto's political connection to Tsunade could have been fairly earned by absolutely anybody who was placed at the same dinner table as her.
i mean i dont remember him paying for it so the fact that he got it for free is an absolute steal
That's prolly because she isn't a cute anime girl designed for r34 purposes and an actual character.

kishimoto has admitted that he can't write female characters. which i struggle to sympathize with when, unless you're wanting to explore themes about gender (which naruto isn't), it is literally as simple as "just write the gd character and don't care about what's inbetween their legs"
People saying the theme is to overcome the cycle of hatred, but the only character that represents that is *Haku* despite being the antagonist of the show..
I don’t think it’s the cycle of hatred only either
It’s between gaining power through forming bonds or cutting them away.
So? It's the antagonists who defines the theme of a show, not some side character.

He's just a talented ninja who has little to no morals and is always drunk hahaha.

that is not the theme of the show idiot
My favorite part is when u shit on Naruto for getting his ideology destroyed by neji
That part was BRUTAL 😂
