@@ducpham1478 I just don't understand the argument that Suletta doesn't have a character. Like, it's right there, on the screen, that she's an abused kid with a very weak sense of self who is desperate to feel useful to the people she cares about, because she equates being useful with being loved. She is not the boisterous, over the top presence of a protagonist like Domon from G-Fighter, she's closer to someone like Amuro whose characteristics have to be taken in context with the extreme levels of trauma they've been through. That doesn't make her a flat character, that just makes her a different kind of character. On the subject of her being OP, yes, she is, but so is literally every Gundam protagonist. Amuro is a powerful Newtype in the specialest robot ever, Mikazuki can kill an AI monster in single combat, Setsuna F. Seiei is the first of a new generation of Innovators, Kira Yamato is... Kira Yamato. A Gundam protagonist being overpowered isn't inherently good or bad, it's a function of the formula that can be executed well, or badly. In Suletta's case, it's executed well, because her power comes from that weak sense of self being exploited by her mother, and it plays into her loneliness because her power alienates people and isolates her socially. Her ability to pilot the robot real good doesn't help the fact that the girl she likes just ripped her heart out, or that her mother doesn't love her, or that she's so neurotic that she had a meltdown over a missing packed lunch. It's almost like her character is a really solid exploration of one of Gundam's main themes, which is that brute force is an insufficient tool for humans to understand one another.
The people who say "Guel is the real protagonist!" are deluded. However there is no doubt that this dude is the tritagonist of this story, to Suletta's protagonist & Miorine's deuteragonist. Man was getting solo scenes completely apart from the main setting to further develop his character before once again becoming an integral part of the main plot. Guel Jeturk has got a character arc that any creative would be proud to have written & participated in. Love my shitkids who wind up breaking good, one of my favorite character tropes.
yeah fr like, the reason his arc is so clear and quick is because he's a side character and that lets the script skip over a lot of what he's doing. like, it's a good arc, and Guel is 100% a good character, but if he was the protaganist he literally would not have had this character arc, it's insane to say he should be the mc
That just says how good his arc is. Guel basically speedrun Amuro's development from 0079 to Zeta. MC or not, you can't deny he's a great contender for the good guys' side against the inevitable war vs Shaddiq's side.
@@TheRibbonRed idk i think Guel's arc is way closer to someone like Kamille than Amuro. Guel and Kamille both start out very violent and try to solve all their problems by punching them, and then suffer a gauntlet of horrible traumas (including accidentally killing their parents and then being drafted by terrorist groups) that kinda beat a lot of that toxic masculinity out of them
@@junker-f3m not exactly, no. Kamille's tendency to violence stayed with him up until the end of Zeta. Meanwhile, Guel ditched that the 2nd time he lost to Suletta; becoming a recluse much like Amuro did mid 0079 war to Zeta. They both even come with the trauma of piloting an MS, though Amuro lost two of his loved ones (his dad & Lalah) while Guel just lost his father.
He’s not an MC and should never be one. If you start focusing on him like an MC you’ll realize a lot of his growth has holes in it due to being a side character, which makes sense but would suck under an MC lens
I think the scariest thing here is how Suletta was ready to straight up kill Guel to win that duel - the UberLaser9000 was capaple of cutting swathes through a fleet at the same level it was during the duel. Even if it wasn't aimed at the cockpit, Guel almost certainly would've died if she had fired it.
Just wanna remind people that Guel is already a prodigy in piloting mobile suit, the reason he lost twice is because his pride gets the better of him. First he blindly charged at Aerial unknowingly it has bits and second Darilbalde has a learning AI installed but instead of using it he deactivate it proudly believing his skill alone would be enough to defeat Aerial Rebuild. That's why he said, "pride alone won't be enough to defeat Suletta Mercury" and proceed to leave the AI in Darilbalde Kai to help him fight. This proves works because the AI learning how the enemy's pattern move set work and proceed to help Guel win the fight, that and a little bit of help from his friends (to overcome his mental state from PTSD) and Miorine. PS : also just wanna add his style of wearing his jacket. At first i thought it's kinda lame that he wore the jacket like that (looking like a highschool bully fanboy) but after all this, the way he wear his jacket remind me of Artoria Pendragon (Lancer) from FGO/Fate series. She's a king who wear a cape just like how Guel did to his jacket and her armor has the shape of a lion, just like the emblem of Jeturk. So that makes Guel Jeturk, "The Lion King".
Honestly, what the fuck was Suletta thinking when preparing that Wing Gundam buster canon? She was so in her emotions that I wonder if she would of killed Guel, especially since his suit lost a lot of its mobility. Sure, you can argue that Suletta is capable, and has done so many duels to where she would likely just blow off the head. However, were there any duels that she would bust out the canon? (Were there actually, because I don’t remember).
i mean he did have ptsd mid fight at the perfect opportunity to win the match, not to mentioned Aerial is pretty much the most OP MS in the story, the fact that he has a chance against it at all is a feat on its own.
@@Peasham frfr, i'd rather take that than overpowered mc from the beginning of the series that doesn't have any hardship and goal, and his whole purpose of existence is to make girls moan and shake their assets

I like to summarize Guel as
"The Prince Zuko to Suletta's Aang"
The MC we deserved, but did not need.
He’s not an MC and should never be one. If you start focusing on him like an MC you’ll realize a lot of his growth has holes in it due to being a side character, which makes sense but would suck under an MC lens
@@squishmellowspeaks6785 shut up Suletta
@@zsazsa3814 So how about that latest episode where he's completely bitchmade and unable to do anything lmao
True Gundam main character guel, sole reason to keep me watching.
I didn't realize he survived the happy birthday song curse, can't be more gigachad then that
I think the scariest thing here is how Suletta was ready to straight up kill Guel to win that duel - the UberLaser9000 was capaple of cutting swathes through a fleet at the same level it was during the duel. Even if it wasn't aimed at the cockpit, Guel almost certainly would've died if she had fired it.
i like how that precious person proceeds to break sulleta in the same episode lmao (even if miomio was doing it for sulleta)
That guel fighting scene was make him enough Chad
What a nice character development .. ❤
sometimes it took a great push in order for someone to be reborn anew, and guel... i knew he would do that ever since the second duel
The best character
Honestly, the cheap win probably saved his life. She was preparing to melt him with the big gun 😅
Cheap win? Said that to Eri that didn't want Suletta took Prospera's revenge plan on Delling and took an act tho
the whole aerial being controlled by Eri and Suletta is a cheat too. To be fair Guel fares extremely well against a cheating machine
I began to love him when he set up a tent
"Survived the Happy Birthday song."
True, but I feel like the song had a different target in mind; Suletta's winning streak.
Or aerial
If him with suletta married to each other.Their baby gonna be The Goat of WfM verse.
he deserve this redemption arc. im happy for him.
That’s why i call him guel chadtuck
You forgot about one of the best scenes where he duels Suletta but in fencing.
Ngl the whole PTSD space thing made me laugh, but ya he's gigachad now.
Hes become my favorite character
So good to see charachter development and growth
Guel's character building is just 👌
First person to both survive the "Happy Birthday" curse and won against Suletta.
Albeit illegitimately.
i mean he did have ptsd mid fight at the perfect opportunity to win the match, not to mentioned Aerial is pretty much the most OP MS in the story, the fact that he has a chance against it at all is a feat on its own.
He might be side character, but deep inside, he is the main protagonist
Always has been
I like how the standard for MC is "dude trying and failing to get on the actual protagonist's level"
@@Peasham frfr, i'd rather take that than overpowered mc from the beginning of the series that doesn't have any hardship and goal, and his whole purpose of existence is to make girls moan and shake their assets
underrated. best underrated.
Can't wait for Guel to cure Suletta gayness. she obviously loves him
Best character in wom
BOB IS THE MAN
Everyone else when birthday song being played :☠️☠️☠️
Meanwhile Bob : 😎😎😎
Does anyone think this guy would have his own side story manga?
There are mangas for fan favourite rival characters like Char, Athrun and others... I think Guel deserves his own WFM side story manga... He has good character development and he's becoming a fan favourite too...
You should have included the part where he got kicked from his own house and got bullied by others in his camp
and firmly held his pride when Shaddiq tried to recruit him.
What do you mean it's Guel? that's clearly Bob.
Out of all characters in this show, Guel is my most favorite character due to his strong character growth/development throughout the show.
If Suletta is Lalah as the main character, Guel is basically Amuro as a supporting character.
He has the best character development in the show.
Everytime someone ask me why i love guel, i’ll just send them this
great character arc, it was subtle and realistically done, gigachad sigma guel fr fr
Guel is a badass but can we just notice the fact sullete would have killed him if this wasn’t a farce like sheesh that would have went bad
I don't know why, Bob-... I mean Guel feels more like the protagonist that Bandai hides. from now on I named you as Guel Aznable & give this man the most RED MS!
Guel actually had one of the best character arcs in the series. Went from most hated to my favorite character
Love the MS design of Darilbalde and Aerial is just a throwback to the original Gundam
A red mobile suit with a arguably superior pilot vs a white, red, and blue Gundam with technological effectiveness far surpassing it
0:35 the scream was the one that made me got a adhd 😂
I still hold that happy birthday wan’t playing for Guel. It was playing for Suletta.
We are 2. Like, I dont want Sulleta to kill Guel, but I didnt want to see her so bad as I saw in this episode
@@lucasgoncalves1390 I don’t want to know what Eri was apologizing to Suletta for right before Mio turned Aerial off…
no it was for Eri. The Ms was shut down durring the battle.
Guel's character development is one of my favorite things from this show.
He really Would have died to that Happy Birthday song if Miorine didn't hit the button.
Tbf Guel made a right decision swallowing his pride against Sulleta bro fight a 1 V 12 situation
Giga chad Bob
1 year later and people would still know Guel as "the real protag who carried the whole show" and Suletta is just a " meme yuri Tanuki"
Alao lmao at the unsold G witch kits.
Can't help but repeatedly watch his comback against Suletta after pushing through his PTSD. Favorite moment even though it's short and mostly his Suit's AI's doing.
2:28
now this is the whole main reason why he is OP
Give GUEL a Gundam.
0:29 yep yep and that
Guel just easily becoming my favorite gundam side character
Honestly, love the anime, finish it and props to Guel and we should all aspire to be him.
Suletta: Happy birthday Guel!
Guel: But my birthday is not today!
Aerial: NANI!
Let's not forget that he dueled El4n for making Suletta cry.
> got ptsd from space
bro got ptsd from killing his own dad by accident and we're just gonna gloss it over as "space"
I've never been so satisfied seeing a Gundam Lose before, That shit was so fucking op- I was cheering for Guel the entire fight.
i literally started shtting myself laughing when it said (the first person in the show to survive the happy birthday song)
Unlike other characters he doesn't need new haircut for a character development .
Can't believe you left out the Guelcamp segments.
Biggest Chad in the show.
