Bob redemption arc in full force. He cannot catch a break!! I think he's going to end up being the main driving force again Shaddiq and his plans, coming in to assist Suletta at an iconic moment.
Guel Jeturk finds himself captive at the Earth base, and even though Seethia attempts to kill Guel since he was at the Plant Quetta attack where her father died, Guel still tries to save her once she gets injured by debris. This is probably because he related to her in the sense that both lost their fathers in the Plant Quetta battle.

I mean even then she's a master pilot, she's been manually piloting from the Shaddiq duel onwards, but still, Guel is nothing like a Gundam protag lol
@@Peasham You're right, he's better. He's the type of ace to use an inferior mobile suit and win against another ace (which he did).
I love that G-Witch introduces Guel as this Gaston like character but in reality hes actually this really humble and honorable guy once hes removed from the presures imposed on him by his dad and the academy. Definitely my favorite in the supporting cast.
"In reality?", no. He was a bully. Then he changed, that's character development.
I'm loving Guel's character development so far. He's come a long way from being the cocky rich spoiled kid that he was.
The slow burn of S1 has absolutely paid off, S2 is pure fire.
S1 was blazing fast compared to every other Gundam show lmao
While most Gundam series is pretty upfront about being war anime this one was different.
It really suckered the newer viewers in with a "Look at this cute giant robot themed high school anime with a weird love plot" and then pulled the rug going, "Sike! Behold the vicious cycle of hate and the brutality of war and the horrifying casualties of innocence whose deaths and suffering are overlooked by those living comfortably with incomparable struggles."

I mean it literally didn't, it started with a Fascist death squad exterminating doctors
yeah, agreed. We get this plucky high school drama in the first season, but now it’s all tumbling down. The Aerial used to be a big cute robot with big eyes, but now it’s a walking abomination. The Gund system’s really being looked at kinda negatively now too, just like in the prologue, and its damaging effects are being fully witnessed.
@@elipse371 I really gotta wonder how you missed the entirety of the Elan 4 arc for you to say that only now is it not a cute high school drama with Permet not being seen negatively.
I mean, it wasn't one since the first episode, but you'd figure that'd have clued you in.
Guel is gettin the full Gundam treatment, this boy needs some lovin'
absolutely shocking to realize Olcott wasn't being completely cold and uncaring, he was just being realistic. Then they die in Guel's arms in such a way that Olcott probably didn't want to happen to anyone.
Olcott was honestly just running from his own trauma of watching his son die. (And, exfiltrating from the combat zone as fast as possible was more important than comforting a girl who is doomed) Having Guel to comfort her (or at least have her not be alone) was a tiny miracle.

In the months leading to Cour 2 of Witch from Mercury, I theorized where Guel's story would pick up; suffice to say, I didn't expect this.

The feel when Guel is more likely to mend the conflict between the Earthians and Spacians than anyone else.
He’s gonna be one of those side characters who are honestly much better than most of the main cast.

He wouldn't be as good as he is without Suletta, his quality is directly attributable only to her, is the thing.
@@PeashamI doubt it. Guel is his own person, why many of his good traits in the academy were shown in presence of Suletta; they were also those actions that threw him in this spiral of loss and suffering. We should credit Guel's change to himself because he went as far as to earn a humbling job instead of following his father's order to get an office job (unlike Suletta).
@@kellyjohana516 Nah that's just completely incorrect, there is zero evidence he was ever like this prior to Suletta and even his brother blames her for changing him, and I think he of all people would know. You could argue he was always a good person "deep down" but he himself confirmed in episode 12 that he's trying to be all independent exclusively just to be like her since she inspired him so much. As with most of the series, Suletta is integral to it.
@@kellyjohana516 Actually, Guel didn't even show his good qualities to Suletta, what are you talking about? He proposed to her and that's about the only moment of weakness (weakness being good) he showed in front of her.

It looks like it was her final moments, she's still got lights in her eyes
this is so sad!😭😭😭 but one thing that always bothered me...I know she never techinically did anything wrong...but if this episode was retold through the heroes' POV, would Seethia and the other refugees be seen as bad guys? considering that they're techinically part of Dawn of Fold?

Kid's face reminds me of Carta Issue when she died.
Isn't he similar to Hathaway? from a high seat, receiving lots of trauma, then got into a real combat situation, finally killed someone. I like to think Guel moves on overcoming it while Hathaway moving on carrrying all of it.
The difference being Guel wasn't a team killing simp.

the only reason I'm still watching this series was because of Guel character development, don't get me wrong... I still love the show but if I have to choose my favorite characters are Guel.
note: before you guys said "try watch Universal Century", hey my favorite Gundam universe is Universal Century & I'm still waiting for Hathaway 2.
Bet he's gonna be a Char-clone or a Quattro-clone by the end of this story.
