Guys, I got lost in the sauce while explaining the Shooting Star Ring. There are 2 ways to make a wish: - A spell (Super-tier I think) that requires 10% of the XP, gives you one of 200 options, up to 10 at a time. Unlimited usage. - Shooting Star ring. Same thing, but WITHOUT the 10% XP cost and only 1 option at time. 3 uses. Please correct me I'm wrong, because I'm not one of 41 and can, in fact, make mistakes.
And it gets even better, touch me is the simplified version of his full name, the full name is "touch me if you can" he's literally taunting everyone, and backing it up
I always took Ains "If you were weaker, I would have used those weapons" as a way to piss off Clementine AND make it obvious that he wasn't bullying her because she was weak, but to give her back her own medicine. Had she been even weaker than she was he wouldn't have played with her like that. He would have simply killed her right away, but since she loved playing with people weaker than herself, he wanted to make her suffer. In other words that whole "If you were weaker" was a way of him to say "I wouldn't make you suffer so much if you had been even weaker than this, because it would be beneath me"
I thought he said it because if she were weaker even the slightest hug/grapple attack from him would mean instant death and so he probably would have gone for a thousand paper cuts instead as a way of punishment. But since she was stronger, the one thing she blamed others for not being, she could endure and suffer through such a humiliating death in which she would not just slowly perish by his very hands, but also agonizingly realize that no matter how much she keeps flailing at him or try to escape she was truly and utterly too weak to even dream of escaping certain death. Much like all of her victims. Perhaps in her last moments she realized the irony of her demise.
@@mahistvIt’s in the starting chapters of book one iirc. A lot of info about Yggdrasil is in the first two chapters. The extra XP pool is for casting XP based spells. Book 3 even gives us a metric of scale too at the end of chapter 3. 100% of XP used for a spell only refers to that one level. 500% XP refers to 5 levels. So casters get the extra xp pool to offset that
Albedo's armour having 3 layers and low durability works with her world item. she is the last boss of nazarick, so the players thought if a guild could get pass the other 8 floors, only another player of a troll npc would be able to defeat them Albedo is build like the final boss, making enemies scared and want to nuke her, due to her armour, even dealing infinite dmg in 1 atk, only breaks 1 part of her armour. As for albedo's world item, Gunimguppap(misspelled), all dmg taken is permanently added to her weapon atk stat. So theoriticly, Albedo's armour was meant to tank 3 nuke attacks, then have one shot any enemy with her world item, holding out until the players finally arrive.
About Ginnugagap, she doesnt use it to fight because it's literally a siege weapon, it's made and used for MASSIVE siege/constructions destruction and not for personal combat. It's like trying to fight in CQC using a Trebuchet or a Rocket Launcher.
12:35 Narberal probably used it to mock Kajit and maybe make to the team some revenge. Ainz much simpler. He himself said that he was ready to kill them himself if needed and to be angry on their part would be hipocritical. What he said was the case
Mahis you gotta make more of these Overlord content. I've been binging on it nonstop. Your videos not only have 10/10 writing but is also well edited. I WANT MORE OVERLORD VIDEOS PLSS.
I always took the "If you were weaker I'd use it" as a sign of his disgust towards Clementine. She was one of the stronger fighter's comparatively he'd come across so far, yet she's conniving, a backstabber, and she goes after exclusively those weaker than she is. If she wasn't at her level doing what she was doing, it may be justified enough for him to give her a quick death, but it isn't, and she gets a slow death all the while realizing there is nothing she can do to save herself.
18:27 The shooting star ring allows the super tier spell shooting star to be used for free 3 times without any cost to the user other than a crystal on the ring itself. Double checking your information and notes is always a good idea.
21:08 it's kinda ironic because Yamaiko was an elementary school teacher and would talk about children being raised properly ( something that didn't happen in ainz's destopic world) so her weapon kinda contradicts her kind and gentle nature it's because of her that ainz thinks about finding elf friends for mare and aura or sending them to school
17:00 i think the Mistake is actually in the fight with the platinum dragon Lord. Cause in overlord Doppler gainers, or at least greater doppler gainers, can mimic the persons outfit even if they don't have the outfit itself. So i think he should have had the orb even tho it would just be an illusion and not the real thing
@mahistv It's hard to say but I think it comes down to interpretation. the greater Doppler gainer and Doppler gainer isn't in dnd, And in the informational sheet, he has the ability to mimic all the great ones and look and sound like them. Still your video is great. Great work I loved that spongebob edit the list
I think I heard that the red orb is actually a world item, and I think the reason why Pandora actor didn't have it was because he didn't need it. Also, if the worst-case scenario were to happen, Pandora actor dies and pdl takes the world item and takes it and uses it against nazarick. now I not 100% sure it's a world item because we have seen ainz outside with it, and someone could have tried and taken it so I'm thinking maybe it's just another type of magic tool or something.
I think there's a strong possibility that Ainz would have a duplicate made for anything impersonating him to use to draw out attackers and perhaps the reason it wasn't used in the fight is because it likely cannot be remade easily or at all meaning if destroyed he would lose a valuable item that is needed to keep up the momonga/ainz being different people act up.
Actually we do know how Enri managed to summon the Goblin Army: Her time leading the Goblins gave her job skills in the Commander class. With that under her belt, the next army was vastly superior.
17:20 i think the "you can now wear 10 Rings instead of only 2" effect was from the cash-shop as in: Yggdrasil was a pay-to-win game, where you could buy extra ring-slots with real oney
Horn of Goblin General, What I understand is...the goblin being called is probably match the threat level that its owner currently facing. Use it with normal group of enemy, it give you a squad. Use it when facing enemy army, it give you an army of goblin
Hmmm, I wonder what would it have summoned if Ainz-sama used it in the fight against 240k soldiers... Definitely not as good as Dark Young, but it would have been interesting
Nah, the "Goblin General" refers to the one using the horn. If the user is general-class IRL, then the full effect of the horn is unleashed -- which our little lady achieved by being elected chief of her village prior to using the horn.
Yeah level 100 has it's own XP bar, and The Ring of Shooting Star bypasses the XP requirements. Ainz can cast the spell even without that ring, but is too afraid to do so.
Thanks for confirming! Also, didn't the level cap get removed in the new world? I read somewhere that because Ainz-sama gotten into being a ruler and so on, he acquired a few more levels.
@@mahistv This is really a hard question to answer. The idea presented to us in overlord regarding level caps was mostly kept vague, so allow me to throw in a bit of conjecturing as I address what I know. It’s gonna get really really long so buckle up. Let’s put aside the obvious one first. **Players and NPCs: **: They have a maximum level cap of 100. Players and NPCS cannot exceed level 100, neither can any other entity in the new world. Some items and spells can allow for a temporary increase in levels or stats, but this increment is far from permanent. To top it off NPCS are stuck at the level they were created at, so their level can neither increase nor decrease. Use of world items, and possibly some other items may allow for a raise the overall level of an existing NPC, but not past level 100 and neither that does change the nature of their existence. I think this is because the levels of NPCs are tied to the guild itself. That is my estimate based on what Ainz pointed out as consequences of using Longinus. Players can gain levels in the new world. And given how resurrection reworks level distribution and you can earn XP just by roleplaying, it’d be interesting to see whether Ainz scores levels as God or King upon his resurrection. **Dragons: ** I think they have a maximum level cap of 100. Most True Dragon Lords are in a level range of 90-100, however given how newer dragons do not possess soul magic anymore, let us discuss their case instead. Firstly, their racial levels are dubbed exactly the same as older dragons, as both gain racial levels and even racial promotions as they age to a maximum level of level 50. One would be called a dragon lord once they have the racial class “Ancient Dragon”. They can gain job classes too, although not much information is available surrounding that. In my opinion the remaining 50 levels are too narrow a margin to specialize at anything. Also, given how new world has little knowledge regarding how YGGDRASIL mechanics work, on top of how we’ve seen dragons’ aversion of mortal craft back in volume 11, it’s safe to say despite their immense potential the dragons never become strong enough to pose a challenge against an experienced player. Most die before they even reach level 50, either due to hunting or infighting. Dragons are rare in the first place though. **Intelligent Undead: ** I think they have a maximum level cap of 100. Naturally spawning intelligent undead, undead made using wild magic or necromantic ritual magic are not impeded in their level growth. However, their racial promotions have added conditions aside from simply aging. So most choose to focus on gaining knowledge and thus advancing their job levels instead. Although, most undead, end up dead either due to infighting or being hunted down by humans. **Humanoid Races: ** Ooh boy! Here we go! Humanoid races do not have racial levels but can possess racial traits despite not having racial levels (elves, dwarves). When Ainz first arrived in the new world, he theorized humans weren’t strong because they did not have strong enemies to harvest experience from. He’s somewhat right given how most adventurers die early on or play it safe and nations do not battle as much. But then it was confirmed that, while fighting strong opponents may be the faster way to gain XP, but you can also do it through just training alone. Then we had Gondo’s character sheet back in vol 11 and different conversation held by Theocracy executives throughout the story. So, if we summarize, humans with talent have the potential to surpass level 25 and possibly level 30. Those who make it past level 40 are incredibly rare and as such dubbed outliers. So I’m gonna make a conjecture here, introducing a new concept known as an intermediate/pseudo level cap. Most of the populous either suffers from an inborn level cap (Gondo) or never had much opportunity for job change (Enri), never realizing what of how far they are capable of. However, most adventurers are known to hit their limit at level 20-25, effectively keeping them stuck at that level. Past that point apparently age becomes a bigger concern. Long lived races like the elves and outliers like Fluder made it past that hurdle and it still did not level up much, adhering to their lack of knowledge regarding Yggdrasil job mechanics. Most humans also keep to their trade, meaning you won’t find anyone becoming a mage-thief, spell-sword or the like. Part of the reason for that is trying to do min-maxing with only few levels to work with is suicidal lowers the chance of survival as well as combat capabilities. You’d be better off forming a party instead. XP acquisition rate is also not the same for most. Emotional state and sudden realization, passion and motivation, persistent effort can have an effect on the rate of earning XP too. Specialization on the other hand comes in form of job promotion instead of job change, arguably much harder. Bypasses as applied to the class Ninja are either non-existent or not often widely known. We do not know if talent-holders have innate level caps too but assuming they do, they will hit their limits sooner or later. Race-change is a more viable options, although given how society has an opinion of demihumans much less heteromorphs, I doubt that would be doable. So rather than a hard-coded level cap, I believe practical circumstances paired with conditional checkpoints placed at certain level ranges is what keeping the masses from levelling up. **Demihuman Races: ** Racial Levels are conditional; Job levels are capped similar to humans. For the most part their job levels seem to work the same way as humanoid races. Although it seems even having few racial levels give them an immense stat advantage over humans. Lord level individuals and certain special individuals can grow beyond a certain level range both in racial and job classes apparently. All in all, if their civilization level were higher, I feel like they’d make for formidable opponents with every individual around level 23-25 with boosted stats, and some individuals going as high as level 50.
@justiça32legends "Thank you, but the game system in yggdrasil was added by players, right? With a specific type of world item, this makes me think: 'Couldn't a world item be used to change this in his favor and for Nazarick?' If we think of that as a true universe, it's kind of strange to be stuck in this. If I'm not mistaken, the Platinum Dragon Lord surpassed level 100 🤔. Is that correct? This makes me think that if he was really above level 100, it was because there wasn't a game system preventing him from leveling up. If that's true, it gives me a bit of hope for Ainz to get stronger! P.S.: This is just a crazy opinion from my head, don't judge me!! 🤣🤣"
@@user-xZCafé No, it's okay to speculate. From what I know, PDL does not surpass level 100 however, neither does any other True Dragon Lord for that matter. If PDL's father, the Dragon Emperor were alive he would have easily surpassed the cap because technically he's the admin, the so called 'source for all that is wrong', and his current status is shrouded in mystery. Also since wild magic was 'tainted' by the 8 GKs, it's impossible to break the cap alone with wild magic for any of the remaining true dragon lords, of which there are at least 19/20. I have a speculation for racial and job classes in PDL's character sheet. *Platinum Dragon Lord* *Racial Levels* Dragonling (10) Young (10) Adult (10) Old (10) Elder (5) Ancient (5) *Job Levels* Wild Magic Caster (10) Overedragon (10) World Connector (10) Soul Adorer (5) Warrior/Knight(10) Others(5) By the way, I think class of PDL's armor should not be confused with that of PDL's main body. I don't know how he makes it, but it works similar to an adjutant.
As a small sidenote. The second set of armor was not necessarily created due to his summoned gear being too durable to damage. Rather, summoned gear will vanish after being removed/dispelled and possibly after some set amount of time. When it vanishes and you recast the spell, it creates a new set. So even if the armor got damaged, the moment the spell ends the set ceases to exist. And upon recasting the spell a completely new set is created.
About the ring, it cast an existing spell in ygdrassil wish upon a star. the spell itself is what costs 10% xp, but with the ring you can cast it three times free of cost. That why Ainz didn't lost any levels when casting the spell, because of the ring.
i have a new video idea, "demon blood arts and why they're ridiculous" I mean just look the infinity castle, how blood contaminated by a flower can create an infinite pocket dimension?!
@@mahistv ELATED to hear this. I’ve already gone through all your overlord content. Made me start the wn but tensura wn took over lol they are the only two wn I’ve ever started
17:27 "Shooting Star Ring" as far as i can remember what you are setailing is the effeect of the Wish-spell the Wish-spell takes 10% of your current XP to cast (at level 100 you could bank enough XP to theoretically get to level 101, the cost is taken from that XP first) the effect of the "Shooting Star Ring" was that you could cast Wish 3 times WITHOUT having to consume any XP (so it works like a scroll, letting you cast the spell even if you don't personally know it AND it negates the XP-cost at the same time)
Slight correction for the Goblin Horn. The function of Goblins sticking around has always been available. Which is why Ainz gave it to the girls in the first place to have permanent body guards. It mentions this in the 1st book Page 153 Yen Press translation.
nice video, just one little correction, at 19:42 you put the list of item classes but the artifact class is actually higher than top, being that low, was actually the lowest
On the very first item you make a mistake? He specifically says at the start that he can't edit the NPC's settings anymore and its an ongoing plot point.
How the EXP bar works for max level: Like in some games that have something similar. In overlord its quite likely they still have their exp bar at level 100, with a max exp cap that's slightly higher then that of a level 99 player. However, reaching that cap does nothing, once it maxes out you don't level up and additional exp is wasted. This exp essentially serves as "currency" for high leveled skills, so that you don't necessarily are reduced to lower levels when using some of the less costly skills, instead just expending the accumulated exp from that "storage".
I haven't read the ln and idk if it might have been explained in the month since this video came out but I'd like to point to several things that Enrie did before activating the second horn. Obviously spoilers so proceed at your own risk 1. she went from a village girl to a village chief (and was probably recognized by ains or lupusregina as such which validates her position) 2. she upgraded the equipment of the goblins that she had summoned and continued to fight and work with them possibly raising their levels 3. she had developed a very good rapport with the goblins as they were joking around with her, eating with her, and taking their meals with her 4. she took command of several ogres 5. the captain of the goblins came into contact with and claimed a magic weapon from an ogre (possibly undead) 6. she formed the villagers into a loose militia and was beginning to integrate more villagers into her village. I wouldn't be surprised if eventually even demi humans ended up settling there 7. she engaged a smaller army made up mostly of ogres and won. 8. she was beating back the army of e-rantel's kingdom and their prince and winning for the most part. 9. this may be out of order but I am 99% sure she also was recognized along with Nfirea before the battle happened and as a result we could see it as a boosting of her social/political status 10. she constructed fortifications and structures within and around the village to better defend it Enrie put in a lot of time, hours, and material into building up her village and becoming a capable leader and as a result the goblin horn recognized her efforts. It is easy enough to say "well she kept the 20 goblins around so that's it" but if that was the case then players would have figured that out by spamming the goblin horn. I think this more has to do with the guild/territory controlling aspects that seem to be in the game and that no one bothered to try it because once you have a village that size you can probably afford mercenaries or you've already attracted some retired adventurers. TL;DR Ain's is playing Civs while Enrie is playing manner lords and the game recognizes both play styles.
Correction i think i might be wrong so here: Players were only supposed to have 3 rings but ainz payed for the rest to get to 10 rings and every ring grants him buffs or Immunity
Was it 3? You might be right, but I would like to say that this level of pay-to-win is bullshit, and chose to believe that he used other items for that. Otherwise everybody else would have done so, since it's such an advantage.
@@mahistv its due to i think ainz being a summoner those rings buffs his summons because during the fight of pandora and pdl, pandora had the rings and a few minutes into the fight pandora uses summons
looking forward for items from the upcoming seasons, also i don't think the dagger narberal used to stab khajit is the same one used by Blade of Darkness just looks similar, but the one ainz have i believe IS from Blade of Darkness since he talked something about poetic justice... and even she is using their dagger i don't think she used it to show some kind of sympathy, just to add insult to injury like, "i don't need to use any of my high class gear, i can easily kill you with a simple dagger with absolutely shitty stats that i picked from some random goober at the side of the road"
@@mahistv Indeed, it's very Pay-to-win, but strangely, it has its own drawbacks despite its P2W nature. I've mentioned this in another comment of mine, but in case you missed it: This Cash Item grants you more ring slots with the caveat that all your ring slots will only be able to equip the specific rings that you initially chose when you activated this Cash Item. So, you'd be trading in freedom and versatility for greater power and quantity.
It's noticeable when Momon is told about Shaltear and he grabs a Sealing Crystal seemingly out of nowhere. Not sure if this was intentional but it's a good demonstration
18:55 Ainz doesnt normally use it as it can only be swapped into a preselected set of gear, and since Ainz has ALOT of gear, he carefully selects his it depending on his opponent
@@mahistv I woudnt doubt he'd have a robe for some scenario but since quick change robes can only swap to a preselected set of gear, it'd be like trying to swap loadout after loadout until he got the right one on. From a resource perspective, in a game with thousands of different classes and races, its more efficient to make several pieces of gear that can be interchanged for certain situations or opponents, than to make many different sets of gear for them. When he fought in the bonus novel, he took his time to carefully select what was best suited to his opponent, but in vol 3, he used the robe because he had a plan for it
ainzes storage box is even more excessive once you consider that he has his stuffed full with many many additional bags of holding that carry even more junk, like healing potions which would be stuff that would hurt him and he only has those around in case his non undead friends would ever get hurt or such... Hermes Trismegistos is a combination of the greek god hermes and the egyptian god thot. nether of the two are exactly known for their combat prows, the later is all about science and magic, the former about travels and messengers. both vaguely to do with death. - hermes delivers the dead to the underworld. while thot takes note of the undead and decides if they are worthy to move on. the goblins summed by the horn were always perm, even in yggdrasile, thats specifically why ainz gave enri the two horns, cuz he knew they would stick around. ppl just didnt knew about the additional conditions cuz the gobs never survived for long enough for anyone to find out.... ainz might have legitly just been taunting clementine in that scene, but also just a guess at best... 14:10 ever noticed how the book of the dead ainz holds has its flavour text written on the cover? depiction of nature and society also allows the user to conjure an fighting force thats roughly 80% in strengths to whoever got trapped inside, so can basically bog the other side down with an small army or elite fighting force to further weaken them can also control if wants to let other allies into the world etc, the user is also in the world and is one of the other potential goals to beat the trap and earn it - defeating the user inside the trap. there were 9 world class champions. not just 1. one for each of the 9 worlds in yggdrasile.
1. I did that in DoS 2 to help sort stuff, so I understand 2. Thanks for the info 3. Thought the were temporary like all summons 4. Perhaps 5. I think I did 6. I was confused about that part so I let it out 7. Yes, when I said 1, I meant on the server (9 servers total)
Working on it... this is turning out WAY harder than I thought. Was expecting a one longer is video, but It will have to be 4 at this point, one for each season.
also another thing you missed about the orb is its actually named after momonga, its his world item, only he can use it/own it, afaik he gained it as the guild conquered nazarick or after it, but no one knows how it works except for him because its just his personal world item
@@mahistvThough it's possible Ainz has a copy, since he has a copy of the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown, and the fake is the one we see 99% of the time. I still think there's animation shenanigans afoot, though. Either they messed up during the Sebas interrogation or just hadn't thought of it yet.
My favourite thing about the jewel of death is that Ainz gave it to Hamusuke on a whim and completely forgot about it so at a later time when Hamusuke requested that Ainz take it back because it was too loud he had no clue what she was on about.
a small thing you forgot about the scroll world item : it can also simulate a battlefield with respawning enemies, either an army of 60% strength (compared to the victims) or one per person at 80%
7:28 The reason why albedo was wielding ginnungagap is because it’s a world item and as such, it protects her from world items. After shalltear’s mind controlling every guardian is required to wield one while outside nazerick. Mare uses greed and generosity (the gauntlets she wielded when ainz killed the army), aura uses the scroll Depiction fo nature and society (used against the quagoa and demiurge uses hygeia’s chalice (not seen in the anime but it was stated in LN. Conveniently, ginnungagap, as a world item, was able to break through the world isolation barrier which is why she could defend pandora’s actor from Riku btu PA couldn’t escape: PA wasn’t wielding Ainz’s red orb world item so he was trapped but with Ginnungagap, albedo broke through easily
The reason Pandora’s actor had the ball is that Doppelgängers can imitate appearance of a characters clothes and items even if they don’t have it equipped - they just don’t get the benefits. We’ve seen that when PA imitated Tabula Smaragdina
I just finished all the overlord anime yesterday and you do this video how bro it's been years since i finished the first season 😂. How is that possible
Yeah, that orb was my only go to for differentiating Ainz and Pandora's actor. That was confusing as hell. They would never ask Ainz to borrow that world item.
About the D&D references, Overlord is specifically inspired by the 3.5 edition D&D. XP costs, massive spell stacking, PCs and monsters being built on the same rules, etc. Even if we didn't have word of god on it, there's no other D&D it could be.
As to resurrection, it's not directly the length of time from death that can cause the spell to fail, it's the condition of the corpse. Obviously, the longer a body has been dead, the further in decomposition it gets, which is what interferes with resurrection. That's why Evileye used Shrouds of Sleep on Gagaran and Tia and also why Ainz would have corpses taken to Cocytus' frozen glacier floor in Nazarick like when Ainz ordered Shasuryu's and Zenberu's bodies preserved when Zaryusu requested for them to be resurrected as well. Edit: Also, Narberal did intentionally keep her sword in it's sheath to do bludgeoning damage but not all undead are resistant to slashing damage and vulnerable to bludgeoning. Skeletons for sure are vulnerable to bludgeoning damage but many other undead like zombies aren't.
I believe the reason that albedo had ginnungagap on her hip when fighting knock off red dragon emperor guy is because it has the ability to block/nullify other world items that target its user since ains is cautious about having a repeat of shalltear
the only detail about the red orb in ainz chest is that its power is very strong against dragons. and Earth Recover literally gives nutrients to the soil hence its name. Its beefing up the druids and treants inside nazarick
I replied this to another comment already but I'm pretty sure the goblin army was summoned because of Enri's levels in command classes like "General", "Commander" and "Sergeant". Just imagine what someone with maxed out command classes could summon.
for the "if clementine was weaker he would use the dagger" thing, it's because Clementine was a VERY high level person by New World standards, so the dagger probably wouldn't have been able to harm her for similar reasons to why she can't harm Ainz, the weapon is simply too low level.
i dont think the staff can be used to edit nazareths npc's anymore, or ainz would have done it to restore albedo, due to the fact they're no longer ingame i think that specific function is no more, they are fully autonomous people now
I can't give the DnD equivalents unfortunately, cause I don't play it (only got general knowledge) As for Meshi, I haven't watched it yet and currently have no plans on covering it (maybe I'll like it a lot and make a video in the future)
I was so confused why Albedo had armor named after Hermes Trismegistus till I remembered Albedo is part of the Alchemical process and old mate Hermes was the one who cooked up most of Alchemy's doctrines. But now idk why there's a character named after a step of the Alchemical process, but that can be explained by me not watching the anime and only watching this cause I'm bored, so I lack a mountain of context for everything
Well, the creator of Albedo was named Tabula Smaragdina (the Emerald Tablet). He seemed to be exceptionally fond of all things mystical and mythological, especially concerning Kabbalistic and Alchemical writings, and 'regularly impressed many of his guildmates with the depth and breadth of his knowledge'.
Pandora perfectly copies a character' design & 80% stats, except equipment stats I think, so can copy the orb in appearance at least. He also has red eyes but anime made it appear like that so smart watchers can tell otherwise.
I always thought 10% EXP meant that you lose 10% of your total EXP across all levels, so I always thought „Damn that’s a high cost“. But if it’s just 10% of your current level, that’s much less painful.
But one thing i didn't understand was the part where the lad dont remember the name is that he can rewrite all the npcs info to serve him which even ainz cant do anymore when he got summoned to the that world he did try after all which means if he could do that he would be able to bypass the restrictions the world has put on the staff which is something insane if you think about it if it even works
Guys, I got lost in the sauce while explaining the Shooting Star Ring. There are 2 ways to make a wish:
- A spell (Super-tier I think) that requires 10% of the XP, gives you one of 200 options, up to 10 at a time. Unlimited usage.
- Shooting Star ring. Same thing, but WITHOUT the 10% XP cost and only 1 option at time. 3 uses.
Please correct me I'm wrong, because I'm not one of 41 and can, in fact, make mistakes.
Shooting star better options than regular super tier
I think it has a recharge time.
If I remember correctly the spell used 10% XP in game, but in the NW you could also use 500% XP (5 lvls) to make a greater wish.
I think Ainz said the ring was 3 uses per day

I remember hearing that in yggdrasil you were able to accumulate around 99.99% of experience after lvl 100 so just off of reaching a lvl 101
That would make a lot of sense
@@mahistvIt’s in the starting chapters of book one iirc. A lot of info about Yggdrasil is in the first two chapters. The extra XP pool is for casting XP based spells. Book 3 even gives us a metric of scale too at the end of chapter 3. 100% of XP used for a spell only refers to that one level. 500% XP refers to 5 levels. So casters get the extra xp pool to offset that
Albedo's armour having 3 layers and low durability works with her world item.
she is the last boss of nazarick, so the players thought if a guild could get pass the other 8 floors, only another player of a troll npc would be able to defeat them
Albedo is build like the final boss, making enemies scared and want to nuke her, due to her armour, even dealing infinite dmg in 1 atk, only breaks 1 part of her armour.
Thanks for explaining. I didn't know that about Genunngagap(misspelled)
Gotta say, Lord of Nazarick has some impressive character art.
The devs for the new Overlord game really know how to welcome new players
About Ginnugagap, she doesnt use it to fight because it's literally a siege weapon, it's made and used for MASSIVE siege/constructions destruction and not for personal combat. It's like trying to fight in CQC using a Trebuchet or a Rocket Launcher.
More like a ballistic missile, that shit could level half of the re-estize country, not only a city, but the fking country
i missed hearing about overlord so muchhh
Hopefully people will enjoy!
The new limited banner Albedo is so adorable,I just got her with 10 pulls.ALL HAIL Lord of nazarick!
Its been 4000 years but at last our lord and savior Sasuga Ainz Sama
Love your vids, hope we will see more overlord
Thank you, I have 2 more in the chamber, hopefully they will come out quicker
12:35 Narberal probably used it to mock Kajit and maybe make to the team some revenge.
Ainz much simpler. He himself said that he was ready to kill them himself if needed and to be angry on their part would be hipocritical. What he said was the case
I'd like to think that Narberal had a moment of "humanity", like when Enri complimented her and Lupusregina or with Hamuske.
Mahis you gotta make more of these Overlord content. I've been binging on it nonstop. Your videos not only have 10/10 writing but is also well edited. I WANT MORE OVERLORD VIDEOS PLSS.
Thank you, literally editing one right now!
Fair assessment
18:27 The shooting star ring allows the super tier spell shooting star to be used for free 3 times without any cost to the user other than a crystal on the ring itself. Double checking your information and notes is always a good idea.
You are correct. I made a pinned comment about this, as I figured it out too deep into the production
21:08 it's kinda ironic because Yamaiko was an elementary school teacher and would talk about children being raised properly ( something that didn't happen in ainz's destopic world) so her weapon kinda contradicts her kind and gentle nature
it's because of her that ainz thinks about finding elf friends for mare and aura or sending them to school
Kids need discipline though)
17:00 i think the Mistake is actually in the fight with the platinum dragon Lord. Cause in overlord Doppler gainers, or at least greater doppler gainers, can mimic the persons outfit even if they don't have the outfit itself. So i think he should have had the orb even tho it would just be an illusion and not the real thing
Maybe it's forbidden to even make illusionary copies of the world items?
Hmmm. World Items interact weirdly with everything else, it wouldn't be a stretch to say "you can't mimic them"
@mahistv It's hard to say but I think it comes down to interpretation. the greater Doppler gainer and Doppler gainer isn't in dnd, And in the informational sheet, he has the ability to mimic all the great ones and look and sound like them.
I see you put the most important items in the thumbnail. The Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown is a one of Momonga’s/Ainz’s most prized possessions.
You god damn right! (C)
He changed the thumbnail so it doesn't include Shaltear's stuffing.
17:20 i think the "you can now wear 10 Rings instead of only 2" effect was from the cash-shop
as in: Yggdrasil was a pay-to-win game, where you could buy extra ring-slots with real oney
@@mahistv I'm pretty sure it's affected by the levels in command classes that she has. Like "General", "Commander" and "Sergeant"
@justiça32legends
"Thank you, but the game system in yggdrasil was added by players, right? With a specific type of world item, this makes me think: 'Couldn't a world item be used to change this in his favor and for Nazarick?' If we think of that as a true universe, it's kind of strange to be stuck in this. If I'm not mistaken, the Platinum Dragon Lord surpassed level 100 🤔. Is that correct? This makes me think that if he was really above level 100, it was because there wasn't a game system preventing him from leveling up. If that's true, it gives me a bit of hope for Ainz to get stronger!
P.S.: This is just a crazy opinion from my head, don't judge me!! 🤣🤣"
"I wrote it wrong; actually, it's his father!"**
*Platinum Dragon Lord*
*Racial Levels*
Dragonling (10)
Young (10)
Adult (10)
Old (10)
Elder (5)
Ancient (5)
*Job Levels*
Wild Magic Caster (10)
Overedragon (10)
World Connector (10)
Soul Adorer (5)
Warrior/Knight(10)
Others(5)
By the way, I think class of PDL's armor should not be confused with that of PDL's main body. I don't know how he makes it, but it works similar to an adjutant.
The edit and script is so creative, i was glued to every word !
Another great video! Keep up the good work!
Thank you, I will do my best! (and hopefully fast)
Great stuff as always Mahis!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
Fair point, I didn't think about that!
About the ring, it cast an existing spell in ygdrassil wish upon a star. the spell itself is what costs 10% xp, but with the ring you can cast it three times free of cost.
That why Ainz didn't lost any levels when casting the spell, because of the ring.
Yeah I realized that at about 90% video's completion. Hence the pinned comment
If youve read and completed at least 100 rpg mangas, you’ll instantly understand the plots on the anime, like reading the future
I can't disagree. Experience matter a lot
As a Overlord fan, you got a big seal of approval

i have a new video idea, "demon blood arts and why they're ridiculous"
I mean just look the infinity castle, how blood contaminated by a flower can create an infinite pocket dimension?!
That's the power scaling problem, but I see what you are saying. Maybe I will make something like that

@@mahistv ELATED to hear this. I’ve already gone through all your overlord content. Made me start the wn but tensura wn took over lol they are the only two wn I’ve ever started
17:27 "Shooting Star Ring"
as far as i can remember what you are setailing is the effeect of the Wish-spell
the Wish-spell takes 10% of your current XP to cast
(at level 100 you could bank enough XP to theoretically get to level 101, the cost is taken from that XP first)
the effect of the "Shooting Star Ring" was that you could cast Wish 3 times WITHOUT having to consume any XP
(so it works like a scroll, letting you cast the spell even if you don't personally know it AND it negates the XP-cost at the same time)

Movie coming soon too!
Hmmm. My understanding is that "Artifact" can be anything in terms of power, I'll look into it.
Love the overlord videos. Just watched a 2 hour breakdown on ainz and enjoyed it.
0:10 i dont remember ainz saying that albedo at all
Headcannon lol)
On the very first item you make a mistake? He specifically says at the start that he can't edit the NPC's settings anymore and its an ongoing plot point.
Hmmm, I can't confirm nor deny, since I can't remember him saying that, but I do see your point
How the EXP bar works for max level:
Like in some games that have something similar.
That's exactly what I thought
I haven't read the ln and idk if it might have been explained in the month since this video came out but I'd like to point to several things that Enrie did before activating the second horn. Obviously spoilers so proceed at your own risk
1. she went from a village girl to a village chief (and was probably recognized by ains or lupusregina as such which validates her position)
2. she upgraded the equipment of the goblins that she had summoned and continued to fight and work with them possibly raising their levels
3. she had developed a very good rapport with the goblins as they were joking around with her, eating with her, and taking their meals with her
4. she took command of several ogres
5. the captain of the goblins came into contact with and claimed a magic weapon from an ogre (possibly undead)
6. she formed the villagers into a loose militia and was beginning to integrate more villagers into her village. I wouldn't be surprised if eventually even demi humans ended up settling there
7. she engaged a smaller army made up mostly of ogres and won.
8. she was beating back the army of e-rantel's kingdom and their prince and winning for the most part.
9. this may be out of order but I am 99% sure she also was recognized along with Nfirea before the battle happened and as a result we could see it as a boosting of her social/political status
10. she constructed fortifications and structures within and around the village to better defend it
Enrie put in a lot of time, hours, and material into building up her village and becoming a capable leader and as a result the goblin horn recognized her efforts.
TL;DR Ain's is playing Civs while Enrie is playing manner lords and the game recognizes both play styles.
a very well researched video👍
I appreciate your appreciation!
14:20 mahis rap carrier is about to start. Loved the video. It's really good
Haha, thank you, but I don't think it's happening
after all this years you got me with that information about Nabes sword with blunt dmg .......
Nice!
Excited for the Overlord movie thats coming out
Big hype!
Correction i think i might be wrong so here:
Players were only supposed to have 3 rings but ainz payed for the rest to get to 10 rings and every ring grants him buffs or Immunity
Was it 3? You might be right, but I would like to say that this level of pay-to-win is bullshit, and chose to believe that he used other items for that. Otherwise everybody else would have done so, since it's such an advantage.
Its 2. One for each hand.
@@mahistv its 2
@@mahistv its due to i think ainz being a summoner those rings buffs his summons because during the fight of pandora and pdl, pandora had the rings and a few minutes into the fight pandora uses summons

Thank you, coming soon!
Lets goooooo
looking forward for items from the upcoming seasons, also i don't think the dagger narberal used to stab khajit is the same one used by Blade of Darkness just looks similar, but the one ainz have i believe IS from Blade of Darkness since he talked something about poetic justice... and even she is using their dagger i don't think she used it to show some kind of sympathy, just to add insult to injury like, "i don't need to use any of my high class gear, i can easily kill you with a simple dagger with absolutely shitty stats that i picked from some random goober at the side of the road"
I think it's the anime's choice. I don't remember the LN saying anything about what she stabbed him with.
Lol did you change the thumbnail?@mahistv
Love the video
Hope you can do the movie too next year 😅
Hopefully it's this year
Idk if this was already answered but at 17:20 the reason Ainz can wear 10 rings is due to him purchasing the extra ring slots in the game
Yeah, I don't like that. Pay to win is not good and this is pretty much a mandatory purchase if you want any kind of success in the game
This is the first time I heard about item box being invisible to new world citizens. That's interesting.
It's noticeable when Momon is told about Shaltear and he grabs a Sealing Crystal seemingly out of nowhere. Not sure if this was intentional but it's a good demonstration
Oh, never realized that. Thanks, I'll look more careful when watch Overlord for the 5 times. @@mahistv

18:55 Ainz doesnt normally use it as it can only be swapped into a preselected set of gear, and since Ainz has ALOT of gear, he carefully selects his it depending on his opponent
I was under the impression he did use them in game, that's why he implemented them into his plan so smoothly

So there is no way Pandora's Actor should had it in the anime, as I suspected
@@mahistvThough it's possible Ainz has a copy, since he has a copy of the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown, and the fake is the one we see 99% of the time.

Great video mate :)
Several old school MMOs have experience as a resource that you can accumulate after max level, and loose through several events.
That's what I thought
My favourite thing about the jewel of death is that Ainz gave it to Hamusuke on a whim and completely forgot about it so at a later time when Hamusuke requested that Ainz take it back because it was too loud he had no clue what she was on about.

Cool, didn't know that about the shield
Lmaoo that end is great
Haha, thanks)
I replied this to another comment already but I'm pretty sure the goblin army was summoned because of Enri's levels in command classes like "General", "Commander" and "Sergeant". Just imagine what someone with maxed out command classes could summon.
I think it’s infinitely more likely that nabe in that moment only used that knife because it was the weakest weapon with an edge she had on her.
for the "if clementine was weaker he would use the dagger" thing, it's because Clementine was a VERY high level person by New World standards, so the dagger probably wouldn't have been able to harm her for similar reasons to why she can't harm Ainz, the weapon is simply too low level.
14:44 that laugh 😂😂
As if Albedo being the very oxymoronic virgin succubus wasn't punishment enough
18:05 its better to compare this mechanic to Lineage 2 where if you die you lose % exp after being revived in town.
Haven't played Lineage, so don't know
i dont think the staff can be used to edit nazareths npc's anymore, or ainz would have done it to restore albedo, due to the fact they're no longer ingame i think that specific function is no more, they are fully autonomous people now
Good point, I didn't think about that
Actually, the horn of the goblin general always summoned permanent goblins
Hmmm, thought all summons in Yggdrasil were times.
@@mahistv normally yes, but some summons were permanent, such as vassals
So what would the D&D/Pathfinder equivalents be?
Could you also review Dungeon Meshi sometime?
I can't give the DnD equivalents unfortunately, cause I don't play it (only got general knowledge)
As for Meshi, I haven't watched it yet and currently have no plans on covering it (maybe I'll like it a lot and make a video in the future)
There must have been some inspiration there
Well, the creator of Albedo was named Tabula Smaragdina (the Emerald Tablet).
But one thing i didn't understand was the part where the lad dont remember the name is that he can rewrite all the npcs info to serve him which even ainz cant do anymore when he got summoned to the that world he did try after all which means if he could do that he would be able to bypass the restrictions the world has put on the staff which is something insane if you think about it if it even works
i cant wait for season 2 pls ❤
