Within 12 secs: The dogs are level 8/9 of excitement; the are in charge; they think they are protecting the owner; the owner is weak; the wrong leashes are being used and the owners need to be trained. This was very obvious to me, but what amazes me is that nobody in the complex was able or willing to say "Hey guys, you are doing this all wrong and you are creating the problem". Glad they sorted it out.

I'm old...and no longer surprised how many people anthropomorphize their animals. And a some don't want me to treat their dogs as if they were ah, dogs.
My sister has had two dogs and they've both had the same issue. They have really long leashes and they pull on them intensely. One week with me and the dogs walk properly without pulling. But then they go back to her and its the same thing. So frustrating 😅
Same with me and the dogs of more than one friend! I feel like sending them this video, because I accept that they're never going to listen to me, but maybe they'll listen to Cesar himself!

I so need a Cesar in the UK lol. Can't take my GSD for a walk. He gets super excited on seeing a lead before we even get near the front door. I have been watching Cesars videos, seen some thing that help about calmness and leader of the pack but not found a video yet that helps with excitability before you leave the house. Will continue looking. Wonderful to see how by concentrating on the owner, the dogs calm down.
From what I’ve seen, the key is that you don’t leave the house until the dog is calm. Don’t yell at him. Don’t talk to him. Don’t get impatient or frustrated. Just calmy wait silently until the dog calms down, and THEN leave.

Cesar, "life saver" hi, I'm in a village in india. My husband and I are social workers. We live on 3acres but our house is 50m from our gate and public road. I have 2 5-year-old GSDs they are sweet I've used your technique and taught them to stop barking all the time. Now I sleep through the night. Thank you. I'm working on teaching male Spike to not lunge and try to bite outsiders. I'm at wits end with Sandy. Her life purpose seems to be to chase a ball, stone, whatever. She wakes up with that bright look, "come let's play catch." How to divert and give her a higher purpose in life? 🤔Help🥺
Maybe I am missing something, I can see complaining if a dog is barking inside the house constantly. It appears the dog only barked upon meeting other dogs in the complex. Sounds like those neighbors were wound too tight.

Have had dogs all my life and never had one with leash reactivity like this current one . Feeling defeated .
