    This is a great video. We really need the video of how you poured your concrete pads in place, please.

    • @designerandthediyer
      @designerandthediyer  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I already poured all of them, but my plan is to share how I made the forms, then do a tutorial without actually doing it!

    Will glueing the strips on a smooth concrete finish work?

      I think I remember watching a video or two with someone using this technique, but I would research to be sure, since I didn't need to do that.

    Hey Nick!
    This is fantastic work! Could you share the link to the pavers you used?
    Don't know why TH-cam keeps deleting my comment. Perhaps it might be due to an external link.
    We have an L-shaped backyard with a 17x12 ft section at the corner, right where the two sides of the "L" meet.
    We’re planning to clear out all the bushes except for the lemon tree in the corner. Would love to get April’s design thoughts on this too!
    Would you recommend laying the pavers in straight rows or a diagonal pattern like yours? And with the 17x12 area, do you think we should go with 2x2 ft pavers or perhaps 16x16 inches? How many pavers and what spacing would work best?
    Thanks so much for the inspiration!

    How has this held up?

  • @MetalBum
    @MetalBum ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Does that hold long term or does the decomposed granite start coming kit😊

    • @designerandthediyer
      @designerandthediyer  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's been almost a year and it's holding up pretty good. The areas around the pool that get consistent water, the granite has packed down, but not enough that I've needed to address it.

    Is the "seam tape" specially for the artificial turf or is it regular carpet type tape?

    • @designerandthediyer
      @designerandthediyer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's specific for artificial turf. This is the one I used: amzn.to/3O40BP4
      You might be able to get away with using carpet seam tape, but I'm not sure!

    • @designerandthediyer
      @designerandthediyer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, I used SynLawn near Austin: synlawncentraltexas.com
      I chose the St Augustine 547, which was basically the least expensive. I was happy with it.

      Hope that helps! Good luck.

    Dude this was excellent. Did you put any sand down first underneath the decomposed rock or is it just the decomposed rock on top of dirt.... And no weed barrier?

    • @designerandthediyer
      @designerandthediyer  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! I did add sand on top of some decomposed granite and some just soil. I mostly used the sand for leveling purposes when I did the pavers, so it was mostly (a lot of) decomposed granite. No weed barrier and it's been about a year and half and I've had maybe 1 or 2 weeds come up in my entire area, so not bad! I was hoping I wouldn't regret the no weed barrier, and I'm glad I didn't mess with it.

    How thick inch wise is that turf between the tile?

    • @designerandthediyer
      @designerandthediyer  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's two 2x4's thick. So 3" thick. Mostly went this route because it was easier to form the paver design. It was complicated enough, so this made things easy. I have pavers in my front yard with a 6" thickness and I like the 3" more. If that means anything.

    What type of turf did you use? What was it per sq foot?

  • @thangmeu
    @thangmeu ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The gap between pavers is 2 2x4. That's 3 inches. Did you build the form to pour pavers from 2x4 as well? What is rhe dimension of the pavers? Thanks!

    • @designerandthediyer
      @designerandthediyer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Pavers are 2x2’, except where you see triangles. Those were formed on site based on those pavers.
      Yes all forms were 2x4s

    What turf did you use?

  • @matthewpignato7540
    @matthewpignato7540 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    We originally put our paver patio in with pea gravel. This spring I plan to transition to artificial turf because the pea gravel is the worst. Do you think I can use the pea gravel as the subsurface or should I remove it and get the granite subsurface?

    • @bishlabadoo
      @bishlabadoo 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Definitely remove it. Pea gravel does not compact, it moves around too much. You need decomposed granite which packs down.

    Are the pavers concrete or blue stone ?

  • @candicelegrand2253
    @candicelegrand2253 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    How many sq. ft of turf did you use in comparison to the sq. ft of the whole area with pavers included? Since your cutting the turf, I'm guessing its a lot less than the whole surface of the project.

  • @exinmate

    I'm getting to pour concrete pavers in my backyard. Should I cement between pavers as base and add granite on top for turf? Or is that overkill?

    Does this sort of thing require artificial grass or can you use natural grass?
    If so, if I wanted to just do it for a small portion of my yard, would it be ok to use turf for that section with the pavers and natural grass for the rest?
