Can Autoimmune Diseases be CURED?! | Rheumatologist Dr. Micah Yu

  • This video will tackle the notion of the possibility of curing autoimmune diseases. It is entirely complex and varies depending on the specific condition.
Autoimmune diseases occur when the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells in the body, leading to chronic inflammation and tissue damage.
While some autoimmune diseases can go into remission or be managed effectively with treatment, there isn't a universal cure for all autoimmune conditions.
Treatment approaches typically focus on managing symptoms, controlling inflammation, and suppressing immune activity to prevent further damage.
Research into potential cures and more effective treatments for autoimmune diseases is ongoing, offering hope for improved outcomes and quality of life for those affected.

I am a long time nurse with RA diagnosed almost 16 years ago. I have learned so much from you (much more than from my own rheumatologist) that I almost feel I should be earning CEU's! Although my RA has been stable for some time now, I have implemented some of your recommendations with good results. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I don't have a therapy with a specific name. Along with taking Plaquenil and methotrexate, my diet leans heavily towards anti-inflammatory foods. I also take turmeric and krill oil. Exercise, including yoga, is essential. Best to you.

@garimaahlawat6060 Anti-inflammatory foods are mainly plant-based. Dr. Yu has some videos on this subject, and so does "Talking with Docs", among others. I do not follow a rigid diet: heavy on plant-based (that includes herbs and spices) and low on processed and ultra-processed foods. You can find extensive information by doing a search. Best to you.

With all the funding shelled out for research, I would have thought therapies would have been discovered by now. I am now 70 and suffered for over 40 years, with these symptoms. First only flare up and now daily, to the point I have great mobility issues.

Dr. Yu, I watch your videos frequently and have found them very useful and educational. This Car T Cell therapy sounds very hopeful for the autoimmune field. I've always asked myself, why we do not have better treatments for these disorders. I know clinical trials take a while to complete. I feel this treatment would be better than a lifetime of taking the harsh medications we are now taking for autoimmune disorders. I have RA and Autoimmune Optic Neuropathy, and I hope to see this therapy available in the near future. Thank you for all of your very informative videos.

Hi doctor, this is my first video I am watching on your channel. I've been suffering from myasthenia gravis for nearly 20 years, In 2019 I underdone a thymectomy surgery and continued medicines (pyridostigmine 60 mg) for almost 3 years.
There was no remedy and I felt depressed and stressed. Later I moved to Ayurveda and naturopathy.
You told me the medicines work at symptoms level, but I learned that ayurveda and naturopathy works at the root cause to eliminate the disease.
What I did was a 16 hour fasting, used wet packs, 21- day water enema, eating only natural foods, no junk, caffeine, packed, tinned foods. I followed it very religiously for almost 3 to 4 months. I almost improved my condition. I felt no drooping of my eyelids and i feel energetic throughout the day. I will do a blood test after 3 months to check my blood results. Now I am confident that I improved my condition a lot, thanks for this video.

Hello there , thanks for sharing the information , am also diagnosed with myesthenia gravis, talking seems really difficult these days .. doctor suggested thymectomy even though there is no tumor in thymus gland ..I Just want your suggestions about thymectomy ..is it worth is or not??

    • @Hari-Sundar
      @Hari-Sundar 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

@@Worldly-ways It is based on your condition. Because doctors said that it will take some years to benefit from thymectomy, but it is just a treatment and not cure. Before that I undergone plasmaphresis( spelling mistake). In my opinion and based on my condition, thymectomy worsened my condition even more, I was 16 years old at that time, and didn't know even what the surgery is about, i didn't had knowledge about what the surgery is about. Now I am feeling why the hell i went through the surgery. But now ayurveda and natural lifestyle helping me to overcome the disease..
This is from my experience: you can follow:
      Intermittent fasting for 16 hours
      Eat only natural foods
No tea, coffee, junk, packed, tinned, avoid food that is packed.
Throw away these white things from your kitchen: white rice, maida (white flour), white sugar. Instead use jaggery, brown or black rice (but not instant cooking rice).
      Eat at the right time
      21- day enema
3 months using wet packs. It will take 3 to 6 months to get good results in your bllood test. I hope this helps.
I shared my experience on the surgery, but please consult your doctor. Till now there is no cure in the modern science. Only natural lifestyle will help. Thank you

Car-T is failing in the cancer arena so drug companies are taking other conditions and using this drug “off-label” to treat patients for whom this drug was not initially developed. The problem isn't just certain foods, ot is the off the charts carbohydrate consumption of modern food system, people nowadays DRINK more carbohydrates in one sitting than people used to in in several days.
Constantly elevated insulin levels is behind most of the modern diseases, it destroys the endothelium of all arteries, worsening autoimmune diseases and causing the surge of heart disease, diabetes and alzheimers.
Don't wait for big pharma to save you, and look around, don't just take my word for it.

I read for a lot of patients going on carnivore diet for very long time, didn't eat anything that contain carbs or starch, have got rid of their auto-immune disease. I think if that's the case, adding proper probiotics, digestive enzymes, proper supplementation and nutraceuticals the body will reset itself. I read almost all autoimmune diseases starts from the guts.

They do, but it is more complicated. That's why people have to study medicine for years.
Looking at one small part of a system and then just adding something in or leaving something out to get a miracle cure is - sadly - not how it works.
The gut microbiome is off, also enzyme production and or motility. But why? You can't just add in bacteria and feed them fibre , our body also interacts with them so our functions are determined by the microbiome, but the microbiome is also determined by our body. Then there's absorption and metabolism and hormones and system after system intertwined with the other systems, not even speaking about environmental influences and biological, psychological and social circumstances.
Every study brings us forward a tiny step, but it's one piece of a puzzle with millions of pieces.

Adding slow movement for hours ( working in the garden) even stronger. Not saying anaybody can be cured. But seen this a lot
