What is your strategy that you use to help control your arthritis and autoimmune disease? We all have different journeys and strategies and it would be great to hear all of your personal journeys!
I think the science is all over the place on diets, because what we eat, doesn't cause the inflammation, it only affects how we cope with it. The air we breathe is the root cause of the inflammation, this is why the science is all over the place on diets. Eating a healthy diet while breathing inflammatory air, is less effective than eating, any old diet, while breathing non inflammatory air. What makes it complicated, is that we are all breathing inflammatory air, we just don't all have the same ability to cope with it. We don't all have the same brakes for slowing down the inflammatory process, some of us have very effective brakes and we don't need a special diet and others aren't so lucky. The unlucky ones need to come at the inflammation from every angle they can, as you explain with all the different sections of the video.
My 1st and major step is "Not watching American political news". that helps to reduce as much as possible the stress to your body. 2nd: anti-inflammatory nutrition 3rd: Moving
I totally changed my life. Went on a Keto diet and lost loads of weight. Saw a huge improvement in my inflammation levels. Felt 10 years younger. Huge improvement in my fibromyalgia and arthritis. Will be going onto a plant-based diet soon.

I have been reading (from credible sources) about reducing arthritis for many years & you nailed it. The only thing I did not know about is salt (next step). I still have arthritis, but reducing alcohol & adding 1,000 mg Turmeric are by far the best thing for me. I did the Keto for about 10 years, it reduced my arthritic pain quite a bit at the beginning, but after 7 years it got really bad (my guest it was probably the high amount of saturated fat, which is another sources of inflammation according to some literature). Just subscribed & looking forward to more tips. You are on my trusted list😊
Thank you for your great videos. They have helped me put all the puzzles together of information about health that I have learned over the year. I have autoimmune disease for the past decade and I am trying to educate and heal myself.
I have been using 1 table spoon of apple cider vinegar with honey once a day and never had any flare up. Twice a day if ate lots of red meat. I can also eat everything with no problem. It works for me perfectly.
@@naziastanikzai5997 5 yrs. now. I only drink the cider vinegar when I feel the flare up or if I ate something that increase my uric acid. Also I’ve learned how to make my own apple cider vinegar because it’s getting expensive.
A few years ago in my mid 50s I had a very bad accident. It took me 2 years of physical therapy to be where I am now, which is still not the same as before the accident. Post PT, I saw a rheumatologist for all my body pains which felt like I was in enough pain I wasn't sure how long I could live like that. The rheumatologist ran a lot of tests and found out I have no autoimmune diseases but I have osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. Through experimentation with foods and some exercise it's helped to control my pain better. Unfortunately the damage to my knee was fairly bad and eventually I will need a replacement. But I am able to walk a mile every other day. The walking, control of the amount of sugar, and going to as much of a whole food diet has helped control my pain to where it is now tolerable. One thing I found is that berries seem to affect my body negatively. Also, was wondering if there is research into dairy causing inflammation in mainly those that are lactose intolerant?
Yes dairy can cause problems depending on the person. There are things like lactose to watch out for other proteins found in dairy to be mindful of. Try an elimination diet. Research whole 30 elimination diet and see what does and does not have an affect.
I was diagnosed with RA and Crest syndrome in October 2023 and I am working to heal from these conditions by eating a WFPB diet. I've eliminated meat ,dairy, and processed foods and oils from my diet. I am also using fitness by walking ,stretching and yogo to keep my body moving and relieve stiffness. I get a massage bi-weekly and meditate to manage symptoms and stress. I am starting to feel better and hopeful that I'm headed in the direction of recovery.
I was vegetarian. Gave up gluten and Fibromyalgia and TMJ went away in 3 days, never to return. Just gave up dairy about 2 weeks ago and my arthritis is much reduced and still improving. I find that nightshades are not an issue, but almost anything with protein is.
I make Kefir at home, that is very beneficial for rebuilding the microbiome. It does not have any of the standard issues that milk has because the bacteria and yeast has fermented and broken down milk protein down to make it much easier to digest.
I was making kefir but it just went bad, so I buy some. I drink buttermilk as I love it. My issue is dietary calcium because of prednisone for PMR. Lost down to 100# eliminating almost all carbs. It's unappealing but I eat a can of sardines, a plain yam, a cucumber. I take 4.5 LDN daily too which might explain the weight loss.
The one thing all those diets you mentioned have in common, is they are all low or no refined carbs and sugars, which cause inflammation then eventually autoimmune disease.
I totally agree with that. I live in Canada & my arthritis is way less severe in the summer as I am outside most of the day. Every time that we go south in the winter, my pain is reduced by 75%. I think its the Sun, vitamin D from supplement don't do anything for my arthritis. Currently reading about Cold Laser Therapy, looks promising (I have a physio appt coming up to test that out.
My rheumatoid factor is 28… I started eating red meat and homemade yogurt (from Dr William Davis’s book super gut) for my gut health. I’ve been eating 90% carnivore for the last few weeks and the difference has been almost day and night. I’m also very active and sleep as much as I can.
So so glad to hear you have found relief and increased quality of life ! Perhaps these diets helps us by finding the culprit that is adding fuel to the fire . How have you been since you commented ?

I dont think I can do just red meat. After 3 days I ended up with a sore tummy. Maybe because I don't digest fats properly. I was eating fatty steak with butter. I have added organic vege.

Healing my leaky gut is my next priority. It has a causal relationship to systemic inflammation and related autoimmune diseases. I have been diagnosed with Intestinal Methanogen Overgrowth (IMO) which has helped me to understand some characteristics of my gut disbiosys and therefore how to address it. I have RA precursors and I am learning how to reverse these symptoms so hopefully the disease does not progress.
I wish there was a simple diet to follow but the diets are conflicting and confusing. Iwas diagnosed in Dec. 2023 at 62 yrs of age. I find I am just much to tired mentally and physically to filter through what diet might work. Sad but that's what is going on with me at this moment.
In my experience (I'm not an MD), one important step for everyone (gender, ethinicity and age wise) is to take ultraprocessed foods out of your diet. Before thinking about taking out glutten, dairy or whatever, take out the soda, the Cheetos, the fast food. I've taken those out and my arthritis reduced drastically. And when I eat like Cheetos two days in a row, I have a flare. Everytime.

Most main stream physicians are not nutritionally trained in Med School. They tend to discourage alternative applications, but don't let them discourage you. Medications long term is not the best way, please change your diet and listen to this doctor's suggestions they are more effective at addressing the root cause, not just masking the symptoms
Thanks for the videos and content Micah! ❤ they're super helpful. I have PsA and inverse psoriasis, wondering if you think the same tips would work? I am under the impression PsA is generally worse than RA.
Plant based would make me flare. I eat low carb now. I was misdiagnosed and by the time I got to the right doc, it could not be stopped. Sitting here with a major flare, 22 years in and the RA is very aggressive.
Yes, me as well. I'm 80/20 beef to veg now. It's too late. Arthritis in my hip and knee had destroyed me. Now my inflammation has been reduced a great deal. I'm waking so much better now. With supplements is defeated neuropathy. Still need a hip replacement. Maybe knee as well.
I got a DNA test to show what I was sensitive to with regards to food. Then, I started eating according to my blood type. So far, it's working. I believe, based on where we are from in the world, and our skin color determines our diet also. I've noticed eating "desperation foods", like those eaten by people from colder climates, isn't good for people with darker skin, usually from places where fresh food is available year round.
Thank you Dr. for the excellent presentation. What do you think about MSC stem cells for the knees, feet, and hips? I have a friend that went to Mexico and he has had oustanding results that changed his life.

I have had RA for over 40 years with a remission that started after my last pregnancy and came back with menopause. However, apart from joint pain etc I have a lot of pain in between joints that feels painful especially at night. Thighs, calf’s, arms, also my blood hasn’t shown crp for years yet both pain, stiffness etc has become worse. I have sero negative RA. Do you have any videos on these types of symptoms?
My RA and inflammation changed after I purchased and am using a PEMA new technology mat. I lay on 2x’s a day for 15 minutes each. Nasty high labs for years. After 3 weeks using this product my labs are perfect and NO inflammation. Less meds are my choice, even though I have used all the biological meds for years. PEMA is Pulse electromagnetic Activation. Old technology….. new product. Let me know if you would like more information. Donna.
There is a lab that tests for food reactions that my sister recommends for her patients. I took it and it has helped me so much to be able to identify some common trigger foods that I had been reacting to and gives me a very precise way to eliminate them without having to do without other important food. It’s so nice to have some guidance with this and the tests show which foods show certain markers that indicate inflammatory levels of your particular sensitivity to each food. You get the results back directly too. The lab she uses and who I went through is called Immuno Labs. You can easily find them on line. You can connect with them that way you can call them. There are others but that’s the only one I’m familiar with. (Immuno Labs). Immuno labs will give you the results back directly so you can use the information immediately. It’s a shame more doctors don’t know about this….but they can’t know everything 😢 Hope this helps! I think it will
I cant do plant based. My gut hurts. I do well with meat and organic vege. But i have never done it long enough alone, without bingeing sugars and carbs, to know if it works. I have leaky gut so i am focusing on healing my gut with the GAPS protocol.
I feel you. I am constantly scratching my head trying to come up with meal plans to suit me and my family. I think what the doctor is saying is so right. We all have different microbiomes and so we need different food to balance it. I wonder if there is a test to check? See what individually we are out of balance with.
I think paleo diet is best , if you are hungry. When I started paleo diet, I don't feel hungry at all. But difficult to continue as family man with teenagers. Paleo diet is the best for reducing weight as well as you will not feel hungry at all.

Especially salmon.
This was great. I have some disagreements but yeah great. It turns out certain diets are hands down better for most people and it's been tested before. While many state certain blood types function well with omni/carnivore diets, when tested(according to NBarnard, Ornish and few others) the whole food plant based diet reversed illnesses in the most reproducible and documented tests. Of course, this is an unpopular fact! Majority couldn't care or stand hearing this.
I had the IG testing done, And I have a negative reaction to alot of vegetables, mushrooms, all poultry, And nuts. I have to avoid grains, sugars, Dairy, and of course processed foods as well. I don’t have teeth so add that limitation and I’m pretty much starving to death. I eat a lot of tomato soup
Try eating millets, mainly 5positive millets (sridhanya ), they are gluten free and nutrient rich, they have to be soaked overnight and then to be cooked ,further if you want you can ferment it(make ambli), before cooking you can grind them if chewing is an issue, details are easily available on utube and google
High Doctor, I have high Uric acid. I like meat. Would that make it worse? I can do without organ meat bit I feel my body needs red meat. Will this help or harm me? I have Hashimotos Disease and arthritis. Thank you kindly.
Avoid sugar, cola, juice, sweets, alcohol is the worst, I had gout with high uric acid, I went to paleo, no gout attack, it worked for me.but maintaining long run is difficult with teenage children is difficult. I started eating all the stuff, gout is attacking me very mildly. I can sense gout and take home remedy.
I have found that carnivore diet seems to be better for me. When i eat bread i seem to suffer even if it is gluten free bread… I tried plant based for two months but then i couldnt swallow it! My body just coulnt take it! So i went to carnivore and a lot of pain went….
Not a direct answer but you can get rid of mold. Even if you remediate or try to treat it medically, you'll still have the mold around your surroundings. You have to get rid of the mold first. For example if the mold is coming from the ceiling or walls, you'll need to check for any liquid leakage above or behind it. For me, I had a mold build up on my ceiling and I found that my bathroom had a leak. Got my tiles fixed and the mold build up stopped.

Hello. What do you think about moringa?
Staying on minocycline antibiot8c is only thing that took away my arthritis pain
I also avoid ultra processed food.
I got a DNA test to show what I was sensitive to with regards to food. Then, I started eating according to my blood type. So far, it's working. I believe, based on where we are from in the world, and our skin color determines our diet also. I've noticed eating "desperation foods", like those eaten by people from colder climates, isn't good for people with darker skin, usually from places where fresh food is available year round.
thank you for this video 🙂🙏
Welcome!
Thank you Dr. for the excellent presentation. What do you think about MSC stem cells for the knees, feet, and hips? I have a friend that went to Mexico and he has had oustanding results that changed his life.
Doctor great video. I have ankylosing Spondylitis and take consentyx every month. I’m on vitamin D3 and K2, magnesium, and my question for you are probiotics. My microbe is off and like you suggest my big focus is my gut. So diet changes, yes. Do you recommend a probiotic every day. I took one from Pure Encapsulates for a month and I saw good changes however a month my ibs type symptoms came back with fatigue, etc. if you recommend a probiotic supplement, which probiotics do you recommend? Thank you.
I use coconut oil coz there are plenty of coconuts here in my country.🇵🇭
Good afternoon am from Jamaica with lupus and ra arthritis can I get treatment from you what is the process let me know please

I believe carnivore is best for me. Just like my ancestors. It also makes it simple when grocery shopping, cooking and what to eat.
what medications do you take for your arthritis if any? it sounds like you were able to stop all meds?
I never took meds
gracias
I'm sure mine was caused by toxins in my environment and physical and mental stress of a woman playing the role of a breadwinner. God I need your help.
God will Help you ❤ the verse im sending you is from the heart of GOD to your heart."Fear not I have redeemed the, I have called thee my thy name;thou art Mine. I can't find the verse right now

@@pammiestewart1419 Thank you so much. Much love.
Donna.
Thank u so much.
How we can understand that dairy or eggs are inflammatory for us or not?is there any test to do?🙏🏻💙
unfortunately there is no 100% accurate test out there to test for these sensitivities.
Eggs have lyzomes that cause leaky gut (protect the egg) and cow dairy causes leaky gut
It’s a shame more doctors don’t know about this….but they can’t know everything 😢
Hope this helps! I think it will
Eggs are one of the few foods that don’t give me pain.
I have RA synovial fluid...
You didn't mention fasting and autophagy. Crucial in health.
Agree!
I cant do plant based. My gut hurts. I do well with meat and organic vege. But i have never done it long enough alone, without bingeing sugars and carbs, to know if it works. I have leaky gut so i am focusing on healing my gut with the GAPS protocol.
Is there any meal plans, i have AS. I eliminated sugar, gluten and ultra processed foods. I'm constantly hungry and don't know what to eat.
I feel you. I am constantly scratching my head trying to come up with meal plans to suit me and my family. I think what the doctor is saying is so right. We all have different microbiomes and so we need different food to balance it. I wonder if there is a test to check? See what individually we are out of balance with.

@sophienicolaou3308 you can test your microbiome
I think paleo diet is best , if you are hungry. When I started paleo diet, I don't feel hungry at all. But difficult to continue as family man with teenagers. Paleo diet is the best for reducing weight as well as you will not feel hungry at all.
More fruits, vegetables, and plant based foods. Stay away from commercial fast foods. Tumeric and Ginger are awesome as is Apple Cider Vinegar

Do these recommendations also help osteoarthritis?
Fast long, then avoid the dirty oils like canola, palm.
Should we take medicines or only diet control can reverse arthritis
Is there a way I can contact you
Am not in your country but can I get a treatment from you
Hi! You can go to drlifestyle.org/
What is your thought on treating arthritis with ozone treatment ?
I have nothing negative to say about it
What plant based protein do you reccommend?
Nuts seeds and legumes
4th stage is non reversible, bonded bones no cartillage so yes in 1/2 perhaps is possible
Pl comment on Dermatomyositis cum ILD.
Lost 15 kg weight in five months.
Also on oxygen support now.
Does leaking gut can be reversed by diet or stem cells? Does this has a cure?
But how about arthritis from degenerative spine arthritis. No body ever says what to do about that.
This is an important topic never discussed.
Can relate I have the same problem also have arthritis in my left hip
I have spine pain and degenerative disc disease. I started taking a bunch of supplements, which has helped:
1) Full Life Reuma-Art Xtra Strength
2) Pura Vida Moringa
3) Life Extension Curcumin Elite
4) Micro Ingredients Spirulina tablets
5) Krill Oil 3g
6) SuperLabs Boswelia Serrata Extract
I also follow a no gluten, no sugar, low carb, some nuts, little vegetable and high protein diet.

PS. Can you tell me about smoked, cured, meat like Spek that is typical of Mediterranean diet.
I am exercise intolerant because of my arthritis and and morbid obesity. I'm 60 years old.

I have difficulty sleeping well.
I have found that carnivore diet seems to be better for me.
When i eat bread i seem to suffer even if it is gluten free bread…
I tried plant based for two months but then i couldnt swallow it!
My body just coulnt take it!
So i went to carnivore and a lot of pain went….
Yes i have leaky gut …

How is mold toxicity remediated?
Not a direct answer but you can get rid of mold. Even if you remediate or try to treat it medically, you'll still have the mold around your surroundings. You have to get rid of the mold first. For example if the mold is coming from the ceiling or walls, you'll need to check for any liquid leakage above or behind it. For me, I had a mold build up on my ceiling and I found that my bathroom had a leak. Got my tiles fixed and the mold build up stopped.
