0-40 in the 3rd set, 2 sets down. Nadal himself was the last person on earth who didn’t give up. That’s why he has 22* slams, and no other guy has.

@@jm7804 no offense but if you try to nit pick every little stat then of course you can make it look like every player has failed. Djokovic won 3 out of 4 majors last year, and made the final in the 4th. That’s an INCREDIBLE accomplishment and in all likelihood he would have won this tournament too. His recent losses here were in 2017 and early 2018, the year and a half span of his career where he experienced the worst form of his career and needed surgery.

I first started watching Rafa as a kid when he was 18 years old playing Roger Federer in Miami. He has been my favorite player ever since. I feel like this match represented his whole career. It represented a match of up and downs. In the end, his fighting spirit prevailed. He is one of the most inspirational sportsmen ever. Well done Rafa and I wish you further success.

With all due respect, Medvedev choked. He gave Nadal about 100 free points....and let’s be honest, if Djokovic was allowed to play Nadal ain’t coming close. The dude hasn’t even won a set off Djokovic on hard court in NINE YEARS. Let that sink in. He’s not the goat, anyone who’s unbiased knows who the goat is. Djokovic has 3 majors he probably would have won had it non been for biased decisions against him. US open 2020, Wimbledon 2020 (just unlucky it didn’t happen) and of course Aus Open 2021. It’s fair to say that Novak would almost certainly win one or two of those events. “Just get vaccinated.” Lol, because the vaccine did so much for all those players sick with covid a week prior who were allowed to play 😂😂 Anyways, it was impressive from Rafa but there will ALWAYS be an asterisk beside this, and deep down he knows he wouldn’t have beat Novak here. It’s a shame Medvedev played TERRIBLY compared to his dominant form last September, because that was embarrassing on his part. I thought he was going to be great, but he’s also weak.

The most improbable and impressive comeback I have ever seen. Nadal would have won the first 2 sets if it was clay. The fact he did a 180 turn and switched it up and produced the best ball striking he's ever produced down 2-0 at the age of 35 is spectacular. And when they got to 5, I thought Med would win in 5. I hadn't thought that Nadal would do that comeback even in my wildest dreams. I love that this happened! I did not expect Rafa to be able to do this! If anyone else won, we would have heard a lot more about Novak not being there. Now, we've got a previously injured 35 year old fighter with a new record of 21 grand slam victories! I was always more a Roger fan and Rafa was the clay boogeyman. Then the boogeyman dusted off the clay and elevated his amazing game to other surfaces. I'm so impressed and emotional watching him win. ❤️
Aside from today, how lucky we are to have been here for all of this amazing tennis! The artistry of Roger, the fight of Rafa and the determination of Novak. I mean, the first British player to win Wimbledon in forever, 23 grand slams by a woman from....Compton(?), the best sister combination of tennis players ever, a new humble Aussie number one, a bright, brief comet in Nalbandian, the first qualifier to win the US Open, without dropping a set, the two longest matches in history...there's been so much special tennis in the last twenty (?) years now and I'm so glad that I've been here to see it. ❤️ Love to all of you!
