Angelina is in the process of learning to play 3-4 instruments, piano, guitar, flute and violin I think. Like most musical genius's her appetite for learning is huge. Her capacity for learning is also huge. over the next few years I think we will see a tremendous growth in her grasp of music. The originals from Chris back in 89 ( which I fell in love with back then) Then there's Diana Ankudinova I love how she took & made a big production without letting it overwhelm her & she turned into a great Pop song in a modern way with a little Russian folk song style to it. Just great. Than there's Angelina Jordan's arrangement & composition of it, she went the exact opposite direction completely redone it & just her on her little keyboard in her room playing 3-4 cords & just telling a story using her voice just amazing. Angelina Jordan, was age 11-12 when she did this song. IMHO I liked Angelina's the best for she took the song herself & stripped it down to nothing but a couple of cords & her voice telling the story. It is amazing that a 12 year old is able to capture the raw emotion of the obsession that this song is describing. Many people see this song as a love song but it is actually about someone who is caught up in obsession with a love they cannot have. There is a video on Fanclub Mosarz which is considered a somewhat semi official channel because it's most likely driven by some family member. But that one is illustrated with upbeat childhood pictures of hers, which can disctract from the mood of the song. So in my opinion this fanmade alternative is the best version available for a first reaction to the song. The sound is the same for both. So dont worry, you did everything right :-)

Thank you for a very emotional reaction to Angelina's very emotional performance of this song of obsession. Of all the singers I have heard sing this song, including Chris Isaac, Angelina is the only one who understands the meaning in the lyrics. Every time I listen to this, I am left with a feeling of utter despair and hopelessness. Such is the power of Angelina to evoke emotions. I follow the careers of about k20 singers through their TH-cam channels. I do so because I find their voices and delivery of song satisfying to my emotions/ However,m good as they are, not one of them can come "within a country mile" (do you know that phrase?) of Angelina's ability to tell a story so convincingly using her voice as an instrument. She is truly as you describe her "unique".

Angelina Jordan is fantastic, check out another one that is making a very huge splash same song Wicked Game by Diana Ankudinova, she's Russian!! She was 14 when she sang Wicked Game. Now here's the problem I checked the comments and nobody mentioned her, because nobody knows her yet, But I do!!! Don't pass her up she is something else!!!! If you match the two singing the same song the winner would be which ever one suits your own feeling!! For me it's don't ask me to choose only one, because both are excellent in their own way!!
Do you mean you've checked the comments to this reaction? If so I totally agree with you at this time. However, there is hardly a reaction to this song where there is not a fan of Diana commenting and lauding her. Often implying that her performances is much better than Angelina's.

If English is not your native language, even though you are able to sing the lyrics of a song it does not mean that you understand them. That the orchestration of the song was so inappropriate was another factor.
